  • Swapping 2017 Camaro SS brembo brakes to my 1972 chevelle convertible factory disc brake car. I used big brake swap mounting brackets and still need a few more items to complete it. Stay tuned for more footage tube!

    What bracket did you get for the front? I have factory disc and I’m only seeing ones that fit 5th gen Camaros they are 14mm though on the bracket

    Good work so far bro... My advice to you is avoid the rack and pinion, they do not play well with A bodies. Late model car suspensions were designed with rack from day one. Just look long and hard before you make that jump. You can get a nice rebuilt steering box and swap the front steering components to get the added steering response and save lots of money.

      @@dkiv20 I would do a custom box from someone like Turn One or Lee Power Steering. You can send you're in and specify exactly what you want the feel to be. There is also a guy in the Pro Touring chevelle group on FB a lot of guys have been very happy with.

    Are the calipers the same front and back? And could i use factory a body hud and rotor assembly?

    • @dkiv20
      @dkiv20  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The front and back Calipers are different. The front is bigger. You should be able to use the rear hub, but the front you will either have to mill down the factory rotor to fit inside of the Camaro/corvette rotors or just get with Kore3 and purchase their hub set up and buy the stingray corvette rotors from rockauto. The hub bore size on those are bigger. I believe it’s 71mm and the Camaro is 69mm. Hope that helps

    How wide is the back wheel ..I want to do a 24x12 on the rear of my 70 so I’m wondering if u had to narrow the rearend or cut the tubs

    • @dkiv20
      @dkiv20  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My rear is narrowed. The rims are 22x11.5 (8” front lip 3.5” rear lip) with 24’s check to see if you will need tub upwards for suspension travel

    Great video. I currently have 17 inch rims in front would the brembo swap work on my 69 Chevelle? Any help would be great.

    • @dkiv20
      @dkiv20  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexander Majarrez I’m not sure if the 17’s are big enough... I’m running a 22” and I believe the camaro come with 18” rims so I would look at that.

    • @dkiv20
      @dkiv20  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexander Majarrez I would say look into it. Worst case look for a set of 2000 corvette brakes to swap... I have a set sitting in the garage because I was going to swap it and once I know for sure my brembo front brakes work I’ll be selling those, that they are not a bad upgrade to have.
