It's my first time to make traditional Lebanese salad, and it's so good. In Japan, we mainly use parsley as garnish. So many friends of mine were surprised when I talked about this salad. It's so enjoyable to see them surprised! Thanks to your nutritious salad, I can survive this hot summer. Thank you so much.

My parents were both born and raised in Beirut - we are Armenian but Lebanese - and this is my absolutely my most favorite food in the world. My mother used to make huge amounts of this, it took her forever to clean the parsley (MOST IMPORTANT PART - parsley is so sandy!!!!) and then to chop it and the tomato, scallions, and she would sometimes add finely chopped pepper and/or cucumber! And you are right must be #1 FINE GRIND bulghur!!! It is such an amazingly delicious food! And so healthy!!! THanks for your video, you have it right!

@@artissiful lebanon was part of Syria only 100 years ago. Syria and Lebanon have the same family names and origin. The people moved around between these places freely because it was the same area. Whether someone became lebanese or syrian depended on which part of the border they lived on when the colonialists divided the levant. And the tabbouleh is not lebanese specifically. Its levantine just like the rest of the food being presented as "lebanese" by lebanese expats.

Years ago I used to work in a health shop in Melbourne, Australia and had to make huge quantity of tabbouleh daily. I used food processor to chop the parsleys, just a few pulses and they were done. The tomatoes were also chopped with seeds and all. The tabbouleh was never soggy, because the bulghur absorbed the extra moist.

@@lubnan08 no worries. I don't know if that's like a standard substitution or not, I just know that's how my family does it. You should give it a shot, too--it's really good. Has a really fresh taste, the creamy of the cucumber plays well against the acidic of the tomato in a way onion doesn't--it's actually a bit more balanced (I feel).
