A topic I didn't know I needed until now
For the case that one is inheriting clear cut haram money obtained through haram (e.g. riba or fraud), is it haram for the inheritor to inherit this money?
YQ mentioned 3 opinions:
1. The first opinion (which is a really minority opinion) is that there is no sin on the inheritor regardless of how the haram money was acquired. Those who have this opinion mention the quran ayaat regarding how one person's sin does not burden another person. In addition, that it is analogous to someone who has a halal shop selling halal goods but has transactions with someone who is known to get their income through haram means (it isn't your responsibility to investigate how that person exactly obtained their money).
2. The second opinion (which is the majority opinion held by the 4 madhahib and IT too), is that this money you inherit would be haram for you as well. On the ayaat that one persons sin doesn't burden anothers, they say that while this is true (the inheritor wouldn't get the sin *for acquiring the haram income that the person they are inheriting from committed* ), it is still a sin for them to take that haram money. And they also mention that the analogy of the halal shop owner doesn't hold as you would give something back to the person who is buying your goods, unlike the more one sided inheritance. So for this opinion, you would have to give back the money to the source or to sadaqa if the source cannot be found.
3. The third opinion was mentioned to be somewhat in between the first two opinions. It is that for cases of haram income that take away others rights such as with stealing, you (the inheritor) are required to give the money back to the parties that have been stolen from. However if the haram income source is more general rather than specific (e.g. with riba), then you wouldn't be sinful to inherit the money (as there is not party that can claim the inherited money) but it is still better to give it away (in sadaqa). Note that in many cases, not *all* the inherited money is haram so give the portion that is haram and estimate via guessing if not exactly sure.

In a time where I feel Islamic callers are looking to make life difficult for people, it is inspiring to see someone calmly, intelligently and thoroughly explaining the Sunnah. I hope this comes true. I would like to know more about tafwidh and which position did the righteous predecessors hold (especially the 4 imams).
some say they made tafwidh on the meaning (tafwidh al-ma'na)
some say they accept the apparent meaning but make tafwidh on the 'how' (tafwidh al-kayfiyyah)
@@MuhammadZakyAbdurrahman not only companions did ta'wil, you can verify easily by going to the different tafasir, like "wherever you turn, there is the face of Allah" where ibn abbas explains by doing ta'wil as being the qibla, and not the literal meaning at all......... but more than that....... tafwidh is leaving the real meaning to Allah "because" the first literal meaning that comes to mind "is problematic" ..... in other terms, like some companions and imama malik did and explained ..... tafwidh is a confirmation that the literal meaning is somehow conflicting with fitra, so we believe in the verse without understanding it........ that is tafwidh............ and not the nadjdi dangerous and errneous bidaa of tafweedh being to believe it is a physical meaning but we dont know how this physical thing truly is........ that false understanding is already assuming it has to be physical, it already said about Allah something imagined from a human mind.......... while these same guys , when asharis do tawil in order to avoid any meaning they fear would be insulting to Allah's perfection..... they accuse them of using their creative mind to understand the verse....... well at least, those are trying to create a perfect image of Allah by not bounding him with physical limitations...... meanwhile the nadjdis are using their mind to do the exact opposite, which personally i feel is flirting with blasphemy......... i personally heard recordings of their scholars ..... believe me, your hair will stand by hearing it........... you really understand why some call them neo-karramis, or mujassima

Salaam alaykoum wa Rahmatullah. What about someone who works for the US army or for an arms dealer; their participation in US hegemony; killing, stealing resources, destroying people, families, livelihoods, etc. And allllll their consequences..,..... clearly Haram and their salary as well.

What of the deceased had a halal trade and got engaged in drug trade and all his money was deposited into his bank account. Is this a grey area you're speaking about and the inheritors shouldn't ask about the money halal or haram
Why not answering the question straight. He says its haram. So is it halal? If not what to do?
