There is another very difficult situation with alcohol: the non muslim family of converted muslims. They want simply drink alcohol in their houses and when eating with you or if there is an wedding then there is alcohol, loud music and mixed dancing. No end problems. I liked to have a video of you of that worrys...

It is a hole picture, try to imagine: in the invitation card yet it is mentioned: you can come with shorts(it is summer) you are in this old abandoned farm where the wedding tooks place.you have a headache of the bigband but yet enough force to go out and find a place in the gras where to pray, even you can’t concentrate, too much noise. Meanwhile people are drunken and also coming out, half naked and kissing each other, difficult to protect your prayer...Later on you don’t know where to do woodo, there is water, but only 1 toilet for the two genders and you have hidjab. And so on!I didn’t go there, but I wasn’t forgiven I neither could explain my reasons entirely, how explain it to people who does not belief in any religion and think you are crazy and extreme just for having restrictions .

I’ve never seen a more accurate and thorough skeikh explain fiqh in the western world if he would wind back a bit in some of the things he says about belief and aqeeda, because he has gone too far and it makes people think he is deviant, he would be an ideal sheikh the kind we have needed for many years.
I just wish he would rectify those things because fiqh wise for the western world he is not just good but world class, but aqeeda and the correct belief shouldn’t be tampered with, you have to take the good and leave the bad.
I too was following salifi Islam like him and their fiqh for me didn’t add up with the Rahma of Islam and the insistence on making things easy within the limits and the way of Rasul’Allah sws and the sahaba ra, they take minority opinions and almost always the strictest, it’s like a mission to make things difficult and this is not the spirit of Islam.
However when it comes to matters of belief and worship none is better than the salifis they mix nothing with tawheed and although I don’t follow them in fiqh they are excellent in those, you have to take the good from who you can. Allahu’Alim

I am still watching this video but what about converts who are at a family gathering? I will In Shaa Allah see my family again after a year on January first. This is something we do every year because our family lives or far apart from each other or we just don't see each other very much I know there will be alcohol and I don't want to be around alcohol but my family members mean a lot to me. Last year they even provided halal food for me and her daughter and granddaughter are also somewhat muslim( or well her daughter had a relationship with a Moroccan man and she Is raising her daughter with halal food an non pork food) so I knew that it was halal they won't lie about it because we are very straight to the point.
I really want to see my family as I also live far apart is it haram for me to go? Just to clarify I really don't like alcohol and I only go to see my family nothing else

Hello 👋 I'm a revert as well. I remember a discussion from Shabir Ally who made a statement about this. Being part of the family unit is important. It's commanded to us by Allah. Not only that, but it is Sunah. Being Muslim does not mean you separate yourself from your family. That would be Haram. Eat and drink that which is permissible for Muslims, and refuse that which is not permissible. But don't give up spending time with your family. Of course this is the opinion of one scholar , shabir Aly. Research a bit more. But for me personally, I'm in the same boat. I'm the only Muslim in my family. I eat that which is not sinful and politely refuse that which is sinful. Insha Allah, your family will understand and will work with you. May Allah guide you and bless you and your family.
Salam , from a fellow revert.

I had my doubts when I heard Yasir Qadhi saying the Yajooj and Majooj were zombies.
Went to this video fearing something bad coming... and I was right.
    .
You compromise your Islam, You ignore the order from your Prophet, and the justification for the fatwah? my friend told me, and my friend's friend and the mentor from the mountain and the mentor's friend, and the zombies....
and ultimately is only based on his "opinion" about how strict he thinks Allah swt is.

We live in a Western world, we can't stop and force people to not drink. And we can't live in our own bubble. Just don't drink and carry on and let them drink. U not going to a pub or party where they will get drunk and u sit doing nothing. Be tolerant
