- M3 Lee is rank 2 medium tank in war thunder. Vehicle has 2 cannons (37mm and 75mm) which provides interesting gameplay and opens new tactical choices.

m3 lee is definitely One of the most interesting low tier tanks in War Thunder ground forces.
I don't understand the hate this tank gets from the community. It's a very well balanced, unique vehicle which when mastered, is incredibly powerful.

I think it might come from those who originally played world of tanks. The M3 Lee there was pretty bad there. It could also be influenced by how people viewed it in real life since IRL it was a rather flawed tank that many crews hated.

It's because in ww2 brits and soviets considered it as a shit machine, the soviet even called it "coffin for brothers" so people started assuming it sucked not considering that the m3 in war thunder tanks to the Br system doesn't fight panthers and tiger 2s
One time I was playing M3 Lee I got hit real hard and only had only two crew members left. And what these 2 crew do? They both decided to control both guns. They didn't want to be a driver and I was sitting in the middle of the field before I got killed few minutes later
the way the crew replacement work on this tank is really strange. Sometimes one gunner suddenly stops controlling one gun because he replaced gunner of another gun ^^

mine decided to use the crew from the hull gun to replace the weaker turret gun
I agree almost on everything except for mobility. It is definitely no gokart but the acceleration is still very good.

I remember having so much fun in this tank. Relatively new players are not prepared to face 2-gunned vehicles so you can even bait them out of cover by shooting one or the other gun... :D
Pls make the Chi-Ri II, it is one of the best tank in the game IMO, and it has two guns also.
Wow, the "Secondary gun"-option never crossed my mind. I always played the "switch guns"-option which, as you said, confused me at times. I will try!
I never used the switch method, seems too slow and overcomplicated for me.
Secoundary gun method works really well, I just have main gun on LMB and secoundary on RMB.
i usually play the m3 like a tank-destroyer. stay in the second line and snipe with the 75, then protect yourself with the 37. what do you think?
that is a good tactic, I use it more like a regular tank but the beauty of the M3 lee is that you can do ANYTHING with it
I disagree. The M3 has it's 75mm build in so low in the hull you practically show 70% of your tank before you can shoot and the gun has a very slow projectile speed. Not good for a sniper.

@@robertharris6092 stugs are MUCH lower to the ground tho, meaning its only slightly higher then a hull down tank

It's excellent for its BR. It's just difficult to play. Normies will stay away from it (aka less players playing - aka not worrying about nerfing) and in good hands it's literally a one man army

I played M3 Lee a shit ton.. my friends would always laugh at me, until I sniped someone with the 75mm and took on multiple opponent

Nobody's likely to believe this, but on that same winter map in the beginning of your video I played the M3 and I think it was conquest, so nearly the entire enemy team went for the point, as to be expected. I got into a nice ambush position when BAM, the enemy just started trickling through right in front of me... so I opened fire. At the end of it, I had 10 kills without getting killed, only lightly damaged. By the end of the match I had 12 kills.
I both felt amazing and kinda bad. People probably thought I was cheating, but I swear I was just lucky and I know how to use the secondary cannon on the M3.

Nah i play M3 Lee as a brawler, killed 9 enemy in AB with the Lee once, didn't seperate the controls for the 37 and 75, and most often just coming straight to the enemy and shoot him
I enjoy the way the M3 shoots the 75mm from its "hip", like shooting a revolver.
Good video. I use the turreted cannon as the primary weapon and bound it to the "T" key. "T" for turret. Then bound the hull cannon to the "H" key. "H" for hull. The arrangement works well for the twin gunned Churchill and the twin gunned, Rank 5 Japanese medium tanks too. Thanks for the video, there's always something new to learn. :-)
I find it like a casemate Destroyer, and a turreted tank at the same time. One of my favorite tricks is when you're corner-peaking in urban combat, you shoot the 37mm, and hold the 75mm for when they get brave. "Oh, he must be reloading..."
BLAM! 75mm to the face! This solves a major problem with Casemate Destroyers, being flanked, but at the same time, the shape of it makes for a really nice hit-box to aim at. (A problem for a lot of American tanks, they're tall, and boxy.) Add a small machinegun turret on top, and you have a nice weak spot to aim at. I learned fairly early on how to shoot this thing, depending on the hull orientation. If they're facing me, take out the 75mm first. If not, pop the main turret, and flank around. They basically have a casemate destroyer after that. So, just avoid the danger zone in front of them, and get a shot on the side armor. That's where the hit-box is nice and large!
Don't forget to use the Machineguns with Smoke. Especially with this one, as you have so many options to obscure the area, you can use the hit-cam to feel out their hull rotation, and aim the 37mm. (It doesn't really help with the 75, but you can use that for other things. Like firing Smoke rounds!)
Bloody love this tank. The 75mm is punchy and destructive and real satisfying to use whilst the little 37mm reloads quick and won't do as much but can help disable and cripple whilst you prepare to blow them up. The top speed is real nice whilst getting to point A to point B at least in Arcade and the armour can help bounce a surprising amount of fire.
Much better in urban environments than open where the 75mm has trouble with the immense drop and where it can be flanked much easier and the 37mm can't do much at range.
You can easily bypass the "firing two guns at the same time" problem by setting your "fire secondary weapon" button to a different button. For example I use CTRL to fire the 75 mm and LMB for the 37 mm

T-35 is hot garbage, just like the independent, you’re just delaying the inevitable by waiting for all your crew to die. That is if you can even get to the battle before match is over.
@@iv9545 you just must be bad at it. I get constant 5+ kills in it, with some acceptions. You take enough hits to spawn a place too

This tank is just FUN. The main problem it's the 2.7BR, there is no decent line-up for it, specially in Arcade where you can't use planes in the line-up.
I recommend binding a key to use the secondary cannon gunsight, but then just one key for controlling both cannons at once, so if your top turret is disabled, you can switch to lower gun gunsight, and then go back to controlling both guns at the same time, while still firing separately and having the gunsight at the top turret
Because the tank is so tall, American tankers nicknamed the Lee 'The Iron Citadel' lol.

The grant is the same as the lee only that it has more armor on the turret and no mg turret. And it’s a premium. Really fun tank to play.
I once was positioned in a good spot, i saw about 3 german tanks in somewhat a straight line, and my cannons are bound to 2 different buttons. so i shot the first tank with the 75, the second with the main. and because i already shot the 75 before it reloaded pretty quickly and managed to get the last one
I don't know if anyone has made one for the Lee, but something I like to do with two-gun tanks is use a custom sight that has the ranges for both cannons. I use a really good one for the Maus. It's the default 128 sight with a ranging curve on the right that accounts for the 75's lower velocity and offset from the center of the sight.

In real battlefield, actually m3 lees have done a good job. In 1942, they are (along with m3 grants) are the finest medium tanks, and superior to the panzers and Italian tanks.. they played important role to defeat german and italian positions in north africa, until the m4 shermans arrived. (Note that m3 grants and lees are made merely for interim medium tank until m4 shermans available to play part in the battlefield)

The T-50 can bounce the 75 when angled correctly, i onow because ive done it. I got 2nd on a team with 3 kills just because i was bouncing everything. Its a delecate balance though, because the M3 is hard to pen with the T-50 if you dont use the Solid Shot

You forgot to tell everyone to get used to that 75, because it’s gonna be your best friend until you get to tier III Medium Tanks
Once I got rammed by one of this things but the dude was unable to kill me because the 75mm cannon wouldn’t depress so he just kept pushing me all over the map till the round finished

Can we get a video on how to play the Chi-Nu II please, I've been playing the tank for a few days in a row and i'm not sure what the best role for it is. I think it's sniping/support but i can't tell, and I would love to know!
Good tank I suppose but when I played it I often felt a little overwhelmed by the clunky movement and the two guns different speed and only the rotating turret having a sight

It is a good tank but funny enough it was widely hated by its users historically mostly because compared to other tanks of its type it is huge.
Capped shells also have better normalisation and less propability of ricoshete I think

The Smk is utterly useless,it has shit armor, its cannons barely do any damage, and its ammo rack is huge (and extremely prone to detonating) Ive tryed playing it, it sucks... Stick with the T35, it's a whole lot better...

You would have to adjust that in "controls" settings. Search it up how to do it specifically for the M3 Lee, you should be able to find a good amount of guides on how to set them!
