Watch out for this new one Invisible Daily Defense Face Serum SPF 60+ and the 30+, they both have YELLOW 5 & RED 40. No way!! Why would Neutrogena put these dyes in their sunscreen. Their Ultra sheer line does NOT have these 2 dyes in them.
My issue is usually avobenzone, it makes my eyes very irritated but since I don't step out of my house without my large sunglasses which only come off if I am taking a pic and sometimes not even then, I I am still able to use sunscreens with it. Loving the Supergoop Play SPF 30 in the large bottle for $22. Please keep preaching on sunscreen for those in the back that act like we do not need it.

I have tried over five different types of mineral sunscreens and they have ALL DRIED my skin out...horribly. And I’ve tried Elta MD, PREM, Purito, and others. So I’m officially a chemical sunscreen girl.
Zinc does tend to be drying, since i personally have very dry sensitive skin, I've found it extremely helpful to get the hydration/moisturizing game on to counter this.
For sensitive dry skin I swear by Purito Centella sunscreen. It's a Korean brand and it is literally invisible on chocolate skin and not greasy. I reapply every few hours and it absorbs into my skin.
I am a 40+ oily skin dark chica. Roughly your color Danielle. I bought this and THOUGHT I saw a gray cast but my husband said my skin looked matte. Like super super matte and not my shiny skinned self (btw I don’t think I’m shiny he just doesn’t know dewy! lol) I don’t like how this made my skin look very UNradiant. The lotion looked better on my skin than the serum. I’m going to keep the lotions for when I do outdoor activities like hiking or yard work but return the serum.
Came here because this (the SPF 30) is on the list of sunscreens Valisure DIDN'T find any benzene in, and I'm trying to help a friend in the US out with finding an acceptable facial sunscreen for the first time in his life. I really don't want him to end up an oil slick and give up using sunscreen forever... Thank you so much for this, I think I'll ask him to try the SPF 30.
As per usual I cannot get it in the UK 😭 I just bought the colourscience spf 50 Face powder in the darkest shade (haven’t tried it yet) and the spf 50 tint in bronze (the thing is too light). But the non tint one leaves a white cast... Cannot win with these spf brands honest. For now once rubbed into the skin and allowed to sit the spf tint will work. For shade reference I am New Caledonia in Nars Sheer Glow.

I've been searching for an affordable spray sunscreen. The Hawaiian Tropics sunscreen spray is very fragrant and it lingers too long for my taste. How was the fragrance of this spray sunscreen? Does it linger for a long time?

Girl, I was just about to tag you in my recent find at Target. It’s basically a dupe for the Kroger. I got the Up and Up brand at Target while vacationing in Cali and it hits. I’m gonna see if my skin continues to love it. I love the glow recipe moisturizer- it has that glow I love. My wallet don’t love the price point lol
You can wash your hands with soap and water like you normally would. But if you have none handy, than hand sanitizer or sanitizer wipes are probably your best option.
@@niajoseph7010 I think you’ll be fine. Give your sunscreen about 15 mins to “settle” and finishing creating a protective film before applying your makeup if you’re worried. And make sure you apply it liberally as to not miss a spot. But a dampened beauty blender pressing makeup into your skin shouldn’t disrupt your sunscreen that much. Do you have a body care routine because I’m interested in getting more even skin tone and your skin is glowing so I would love to know any tips you could give me. Ps: I’m west African (Ghanaian to be specific) . I use a Sapor but maybe their is a step I’m missing.

Would you recommend these sunscreens for someone who battles with Melasma or hyper pigmentation. Since people usually say minerals are better for people who suffer these issues. does it trigger worse doesn’t make any difference?
So for melasma it’s typically advised to avoid irritation as much as possible because that can trigger your melasma. Irritation can come from a reaction to a product that is too strong, has fragrance, is too abrasive, etc. Everyone is different of course. A tinted mineral sunscreen with iron oxide has been shown to be great for those with melasma (check out this video I did with a derm who was part of the study on tinted mineral sunscreen: th-cam.com/video/f1VieDwk4Vo/w-d-xo.html). I have a whole series testing mineral sunscreen here: th-cam.com/play/PLtL9S7jYiBcNeoKFRyfQLu8ItTb-6kONM.html Mineral sunscreens can be a lot to deal with because of the white cast but my series shows some that aren’t bad and how to mitigate some of the cast. Melasma can be tricky to treat at home, so try to get a pro involved who really has experience treating it (it can even be tricky for pros because you can reverse all the handiwork by not being diligent with sunscreen usage, etc). But long winded answer is I would swing more towards the serum in this line because it’s fragrance free and has a higher SPF if you were interested in trying this line. But as always, do a patch test first before you try anything new.
What kind of sunscreens have you used? It sounds like you might be sensitive to something in it which is causing the breakouts and it sounds like maybe the breakouts are causing hyperpigmentation. Different formulas-check the labels of both for the full story. I don’t find these are lightweight as the hydroboost products I’ve tried. These also have the slight radiance properties.
Trying to find sunscreens tht are mineral, dark skin friendly but fungalacne safe i am LOSING the battle. 🥺🙃😩 If anyone has any pls help, only one ive found is CotZ but its so expensive to bring it to the uk 😐

Purito has had a scandal recently on being lower in spf than what is labeled. Klairs too.
