    Self fulfilling to most who live the high life. We haven't "turned the page" on this number yet, the eve, brink or boarder. Still just brick's in the wall. Paradise by the dashboard light "takes on a new meaning today" as they drove through the flames. Ring of fire, always in the eye of the beholder, it behooves me to say sorry for your loss.

    Barry McGuire (from the New Christy Minsrels, a folk group in the US) Barry wrote this protest song which is completely relevant today. I met Barry a few years back in the tiny village of Fairfax, in the San Francisco Bay Area. I still remember every word of this song which was released in the 60's when i was in high school.

    Saw Shane solo at a festival in Austria, 15 years ago... drunk like a sponge, barfed on the stage, wasn't able to talk, but VERY able to sing...
    Can't believe the bloke's still alive.

    I am a huge Pogues fan, but I prefer the punk rock version by The Dickies.

    But shit, when I see and hear the fxxking recordings of myself... I always sound shit: sober, tipsy, drunk, really drunk, shit faced...

    @CrankCase08 Not really. I heard this version first, and I prefer it. Mostly because of the stronger rhythmic element. I prefer Shane's voice too, but I'll admit, that's an acquired taste.

    Another outake from the hells ditch sessions. This, Aisling, Donegal express and NW3 were never finished due the state Shane was in. I’m convinced that the band was quite creative in this period and had they had a proper break and allowed Shane to get proper help, this album could have been much better. Spider has said as much himself
