Thank you Dan regarding your informative videos, and I’m delighted to hear that you now own a Ferrari 458. I appreciate you sharing your experience and providing valuable insights on removing the airbag. And having the airbag cover fixed In regards to the airbag removal, I understand that you used the manual to remove the airbag I found an easier method compared to the instructions provided. Instead of using needle-nose pliers to remove the inside tab that’s just so hard to get to I discovered a simpler approach specific to the Ferrari 430. By lifting the yellow tab that’s directly connected to the airbag it self with your fingers, I was able to effortlessly detach the blue plug. The method proved to be significantly easier I sincerely appreciate you sharing this information, as it will undoubtedly be helpful to other Ferrari 430 owners who may encounter the same challenge. Your detailed explanation of the process and your recommendation is great and that helped me discover the easier process to lift the yellow tab directly from the airbag , but you provide valuable guidance, ensuring a smoother airbag removal experience for others with the same vehicle model. UH, sorry to be Debbie downer but ,Air bags cannot be legally shipped w/ out precautions ( tho folks do it illegally ) They need to shipped in safety cages which most large companies have but you must inform them what it is and usually you have to drop it to the transporter's depot.
Man, i love your channel. I really admire you for paying attention to these little details and trying to do as much as you dare by yourself! Your friend Jay worked wonders on that cover. I own an Alfa Romeo 146 Boxer with full-leather interior and it's a nightmare to maintain and repair, especially those corners on the seats. Keep up the great work, cheers!
The actual removal of the airbag appeared very simple. I work at a Subaru dealership and we replace Takata airbags in Subarus all day long, some models require a lot more surgery than this to remove and the Japanese are known for making (most) things on their vehicles easy to work on.
@@406Steven I worked at Subaru for 3 years, and man I can tell you one thing, that's nothing compared to Volkswagen... I've been working at VW for 5 years now and it gets worse every year. That Ferrari airbag is sure easy to get out, but you better be careful !

Hi Dan - I'm really close to pulling the trigger on an F430. It has some mild wrinkling of the air bag cover which is no big deal, but it looks like it has some wrinkling of the dash binnacle cover. Have you ever seen that or seen a repair for it?
Wow looks great!! Why the hell don’t dealers do seat repairs like that?!? Tons of cars with bolster wearing issues. I didn’t even know that could be done! 🤯
I would just like to add that at one point these F430 were goin' for 50-60 k € here in Italy....few miles on them. Now the prices have gone through the roof !! Specially the manual gearbox ones😳
Hi Dan! I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that dashboard trim or leather that covers an airbag are perforated with a lot of tiny holes, so it can tear / rip a part when the airbags pops out. Otherwise the airbags blows the plastic trim in your face or it can't pop out because of the leather cover.
Hi Dan, your channel will become the go to place for Ferrari owners who are willing to tackle DIY jobs without having to spend obscene amounts of money..

I know it’s been years since posting this… But do you recall noticing how easy/difficult it would be to pull the leather just above this airbag tighter? So not the leather piece you did, but the area on the dash just above it (I know they’re prone to lifting there). Mine is subtle, but one day I’d like to pull it tighter if it’s as easy as this job. I assume once the airbag box is removed, you can get to the leather above it relatively easily? Hopefully just peel back whatever is wrapped underneath, pull tighter, and reglue? Does that sound right?
@@normalguysupercar I found some pictures of the underside of the dash frame on eBay… looks like that area of leather is held down by upholstery staples… so unless it’s easy to remove those staples, pull, and restaple, I’ll assume it’s not so simple without removing the dash. It may also be that the material underneath the leather is the problem, not the leather itself. Unless the leather tears off the staples as it shrinks? Who knows. Well… I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it and let you know.
