Really well done. Nice to see it done well. It can be a patience thing and certainly you have the skills..........I wish I had more of both. Great garage.... definitely helps to have space when things are coming apart and I also like putting the bolts and screws back on where they came out........My memory isn't quite as Sharpe as it used to be!!!! I also have a 355 and a 360 and was deciding what the next Ferrari would be 599, 612.....California.......or 430. I think the 430 is the winner!!!!!
Loving your videos. Do you have a Leatherique video for the F430 interior? I watched your E63 video and it was super helpful, but I'm curious how you handled the steering wheel on the F430.
No, unfortunately I did not film that part. I felt it was kind of redundant. I definitely was careful with the steering wheel to make sure none of the oils seeped into the buttons etc. It definitely made a big difference in the 4:30 as well, the weather feels brand spanking new in there
I asked a local repair shop how much it would cost to fix the sticky buttons on the F430 and he mentioned Sticky RX... the bill would have been almost 5 figures !!! I just laughed and told I'll them just rub them down with alcohol myself for now. But it does look like a ton of work to get everything set up. The new buttons look absolutely gorgeous though.
In my opinion there are two options, send them to sticky RX or refinish them yourself. None of the other refinishers are even close to the quality of sticky RX. What I did was a hybrid, I got detailed stuff done, like the door handles, mirror switch, parking button etc ... But then I used isopropyl on the window switches and the clam shell. That cut the bill in half. The one thing I wouldn't do again is the ashtray, next time I would just replace it with a cup holder
That's probably took about 6 hours to get out, and about 3 to get back in. It definitely was a task but mostly just cuz I was trying to be very careful. The links to the billet Vents are in the description
So yes, I bought this planning on cornering it myself (not using eag or whoever) But to be honest, I really like the f1 lol. Anyway, in still acquiring the parts as I see them pop up online to keep that option open. I was really torn selling 355, it's gorgeous in stock or modified form. On the contrary, I always thought the the 430 looked awkward with stock wheels/ride height. I have since spec'd out a set of wheels and lowered it and in my opinion it looks amazing. Very happy with the switch now
@@ExoticCarDIYI'm with you on the F1 gearbox. It's really unique and engaging; arguably the best single-clutch paddle shift gearbox ever made. I love manual cars, but I actually prefer the F1 in the F430. I realized that when I think of a supercar (especially a Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren), I now imagine a car with paddle shifters. It wasn't always that way, but that's where my mind goes now. Still, I would love it if they started offering manual gearboxes again.
I have this happening to my jag and I was upset because it’s a 100k car , I would be livid if I spent 200k for a Ferrari . Why don’t these manufactures fix this issue
I don’t understand this thing about sticky interior parts on Ferraris. I think it started with the Ferrari 355 and Ferrari should I got the message to use better plastics in their cars interiors, but no, same thing with the 360, same thing with the 430, same thing with a 550, bizarre. These are extremely expensive cars. Logically you would think Ferrari would make a change as soon as they found out their plastics were going sticky, but they continue to use the same garbage, plastic products, for materials for years and years. Ridiculous.
It is ridiculous, and it didn't stop with the late 90s Ferraris, even most newer models after a couple years have the exact same issue. I follow sticky RX on instagram, he's always posting restore pictures from 458, 488, California's etc etc. In Ferrari's defense, lots of cars actually have this issue. However most cars get junked before it shows up, but if you get in most 20-25 year old cars they will have stickies such as BMW and Mercedes etc
That’s even stranger that the new cars have sticky plastics. I saw you driving your 355 and you were discussing fun fast cars compared to scary fast cars. One guy from England who I was talking to had a 600 hp four-cylinder Cosworth and he said my car can blow the doors off a Ferrari. I told him “that’s probably true but it doesn’t mean your car is more fun to drive.” I told him “too much horsepower is just as bad as to little horsepower. It’s not a fast you go, it’s how much fun you have while you’re going fast.” it’s very difficult to go first, second and third gear in the city, or even up in the hills with Ferrari F12 that has 800+ horsepower. You’re an excellent mechanically inclined young man. It’s too bad you sold your 355.
The refinished parts look amazing
I am very happy with the results! thanks buddy

All great cars, I miss my 355, but am thoroughly enjoying the 430. I love perfecting these cars
Hello Thanks for the reference on your video.
Your video was excellent, no need to have another one out there lol. Thanks
Nice works. Looks great. I don't think I would have the patience to do that dash.
It's was kinda like taxes for me. I dread them, but it needed to be done
Great video. You would think that Ferrari could make a better product regarding the Sticky parts. Thanks again for sharing. Have a great day.
Apparently they still use the same coating on brand new ferraris. they are get sticky in 4-10 years

Where do you get the billet
Vents? How
Much time to take the dash off?

Any plans to manual convert this one?
I love the F430, I think one could tempt me out of my F355 eventually

was hoping you'd show how to take off all the sticky parts before the dash came off...
