Had 1,000 monthly listeners 6 months ago, following nics advice I have 4,000 now. Trying to overcome perfectionism and get sh done. Appreciate the advice. Be back in 6 months for the update, let’s gooooo!
Nic is a g for all the advice and knowledge he's given all these years. Been following and implementing it for the last year and my monthly listeners have gone up from 1500 to 15k!!! And the best thing about content marketing is you don't have to spend money on ads!!! The algorithm does all the work. Nic if you ever see this, just wanna say thank you and God bless you!
Subscribed. Just started listening to your interviews and advice on other platforms and immediately connected with your story and methodology. 2025 is my year to get really serious about the business side of my craft. Thank you Nic.
It's amazing what happens when you just show up and put in the work. I just posted a piece of content for a song that I know isn't quite where it needs to be quality wise, but it got over 22k plays and 175 likes on ig. I had never had a reel go over 1k plays or 20ish likes, so it was completely unexpected. But it shows me that I just have to keep improving and being consistent and the results will come when they come. Nic, thanks for all the value you provide in these videos! 💯
100% percent! I've been following your advices, plus I've also read your book, and tbh I've only got more than 1M views on tiktok bcs you showed me that I should be focusing in my content
Shoutout all the advice Nic gives, took me from a shy independent artist to a label owner and confident star in the making. Thank you my brother 🙏💯 God bless and good luck to all my fellow creatives 😎
I can’t release a song a week, and probably not even a perfect every four weeks, but you inspired me to try to release as back to back as possible because if people don’t resonate with my song, and I only have one song out, it’s a dead end. The more I release, the more I grow, and the more I increase my chances
The math just works out exponentially better when you have 100 songs instead of 1. So work towards that number. I’m doing one every two weeks it’s hard but it makes the math work out and from here Spotify will have time to add it to playlists because I now have a backlog of 2-3 songs set to go live every two weeks. Even a month is good but that’s literally half the songs, so the math is half as good at best
@@TheExodusLost yeah the math seems to be mathing in regards to that lol. That’s good! I need a backlog but I guess it’s hard for me cause I record and edit everything nearly one by one and I’m nit-picky. And then combining that with constantly posting on social media, it’s a lot. But it’s getting done I guess. I could be better at posting though
Such a freeing feeling to know that no one really knows what’s gonna connect. All you need to do is work the absolute hardest you can, believe in yourself, and keep throwing darts until something clicks. Thanks for the dope video Nic 🧡
Hear me out. I think it’s because of overthinking like Nick said. Nick didn’t overthink Mona Lisa, he just did it. He didn’t overthink the pizza shop video, it was just spontaneous. I’m realizing creating from a place of spontaneity, genuineness and not overthinking every little thing is so important. Great advice Nick. Love what you’re doing.
I appreciate your positive approach and clear communication style. I released my first album last year in a tough niche, and have a new one on the way. I hope to learn a few things in order to get more traction than I did the first time, and it looks like your channel is the place to be 🤘
Thanks Nic, I haven’t started releasing yet but I’ve learned a ton from you and your book that’s getting me ready to. Maybe you could do another book for the ones not releasing music but want to? All love brother.
Hey Nic! I’m glad to see you are back and love the new setup. Your story is very interesting and inspiring . I lost the count of how many unfinished songs I have because of overthinking and perfectionism. I love your honesty and desire to help others succeed! Cheers to you!🎉
Thanks, Nic! I love your advice, I talk to all my fellow musicians about you. I loved your book, and I really appreciate you continuing to expand on what you said there on your TH-cam channel 👌🏻its a treasure 💎
You are probably my familes fav artist! 😂 Cakes is amazing for that! This is so encouraging. I am my husband biggest supporter, he does spoken word but definitely overthinks things. Sending this to him now. FrDi baby!
True words. Thanks for sharing! In the end it is about creating (and releasing) music that one wants to create at that specific moment in our lives. Go with the flow, that is rewarding enough.
What is your process of choosing a beat? I absolutely love that you release these videos, it's like having someone that's already been through my journey helping me achieve mine 🙏😊
you're a really inspiration to how i go about creating my music now. i don't waste time over doing songs. i'm finally happy spending 1-2 hours on a song and releasing it. i've been getting better on doing my own producing and engendering and finally it's paying off, nothing more rewarding then sticking to it and being able to help others accomplish there dreams too. big ups brother !
This is great advice on why you should stop going back and editing songs. Cause all that time youre taking for that kne song mightve been a hit the first time
Hi Nic. I’m yet to watch all your other really helpful videos. If anyone knows the answer to this question please let me know. Why would a person buy a musicians song through Apple or Spotify for example when they can just listen to it off TH-cam? Thanks heaps. Love ya Nic!
Dude that was a good video.... just made a song last night..."A throw away tune " my gf said oh that's a hit.. I'm like nah But makes me wonder. Good reminders, just make good stuff n get it out there. Let audience decide what they like. No worries.
when you say release - what exactly does that mean? release on spotify and wait for the month to do the Spotify thing? do youpromote?$$$ playlists etc. can yo7 break it down step by step don’t leave anything out?

catch the momentum, as soon as one task is done, focus on the next one, do your best in each task that you do & let your art do the rest of the work.

Would you say that releasing independent also work for DJs releasing music? What kind of content do you think would work for electronic “DJ” music?

Did you still go ahead with the release plan of the other track or did you not put it out?
