My 2017 CT6, (put into service 9/2016) was giving me tremors around 40mph. They replaced the torque converter and the fluid and so far, I’ve put 10k since, no problem! I graduated from a 2012 CTS and this is by far the best big car out there..with AWD!❤
Let me add one. It's also kinda nitpicky, but you can pop the trunk with the remote, but can't close it with the remote. And I really don't understand the 2 second hold on the remote to get the mirrors to fold/open.
I agree with you on the things you dislike. Definetly should be able to let windows back up via remote. Big inconvenience. I also thought they should have made the ambient lighting with color choices and intensity options. I have the 2017 platinum trim level and thought it should also have soft closing doors for $84k.
I own one and I did think you were nitpicking a bit. I think the biggest issue by far is the jerky transmission on 16-18’s but even that isn’t a dealbreaker. It’s an overall great car.
I had a 2017 CT6 Platinum.....the number one WORST problem with this car was the transmission. I did all of the TSB updates at my Caddy dealer, but the shifting was the worst I've ever felt. It got to the point where I took it to another dealership and was basically told to...."live with it". GM had an inherited problem with this tranny in a lot of their lineup that year.
@@bluntssmoking9362 Sorry to hear you had the same problem as I did. I purchased the car as a certified pre-owned vehicle from a Cadillac dealer out of state in Wisconsin, and had it shipped to my residence in NJ, and took for granted the car was "certified" and in perfect shape. From the first second I drove the car, it felt like I was getting rear ended at 30mph when it would shift from first to second gear along with a extremely loud clunk noise. I bought it in April of 2021 and traded it to a local Caddy dealer in August of 2021. I had it for four months and lost over $10,000.00 after the wholesale trade and shipping/tax costs. I hope you didn't lose too much.
My 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE also had that remote window roll down feature on the key fob. I was blown away when I found that out by accident one day. But like your CT6, you couldn’t roll them up remotely either. The A32 Maxima was a really great car.
I have an '18 CT6 Premium Luxury. First, I'll say it's my third Cadillac and by far one of the best cars I've ever had. Although probably all these could be considered nit-picking, I absolutely agree about the "automatic" power folding mirrors. There's nothing automatic about them as you must press a button to fold them (I know, first world problem) but it's deceptive. The other concerns don't bother me. I will say I too had an issue with the jerky transmission mentioned in the comments, but there is a recall out there where the dealer flushes the transmission and replaces the fluid with another type. I still have the occasional lurch, but it's worlds better considering it was jerky at all times under all conditions. That behavior took almost a year to manifest and about two weeks to smooth out after the recall service. If yours hasn't been flushed, try that. My only other issue is with the Super Cruise. It performs flawlessly, but at least at the time, you pay $5K for it only to learn after three years, you must pay a monthly fee for it to continue to function. Cadillac received so many complaints, they extended the no cost use for another 12 months, but any fee to use a $5K option seems ridiculous. I'm beginning my extended year's use this week. I'll either trade or let it lapse at the end of next year. Super Cruise is great, but not with a monthly fee...unless Cadillac would like to refund the $5K!
I agree with you on most everything, especially the steering wheel. I would also add the gass tank filler is on the passenger side of the car. I have to hustle to get to it before it locks or unlock the car when I get there.
I just bought a 2017 CT6 3.0 twin turbo AWD. I love the car, but it seems to me that it shifts a bit hard, especially from 1st to 2nd gear. I have talked to some people who have had the same experience and their dealers service dept. told them that it was normal for that transmission. I wonder if you have had that experience as well?
I know I'm late to the commenting. I agree with your "cons", but I think the reason you can't roll the windows back up is a safety feature. If something was in the window while remotely rolling it back up, you could break the glass or injure someone ie: a child. Just my opinion. I love the car though. I have a 2018 CT6.
All of those nitpicking issues combined does not supersede the way that car handles especially with the 4 wheel steering. Handles like a car much smaller but doesn’t sacrifice the comfort
I owned 1 my “cons” were sunroof to small not enough backseat room and my ct6 shared the same instrument panel as an Chevy camaro it was nice I traded it in for a scatpack in another year or 2 when it drops under20k I’ll get another then it will be worth it
I LOVE my 18 CT6 .....BUT 1. The second to first downshift, when it is cold, can snap your neck off when you accelerate from a rolling stop. 2. The lack of a power source, think radar detector, making it necessary to run a power cable from the back seat cigarette lighter. There is a cigarette lighter outlet in the center console (you need to get the "smokers package" from Cadillac, but you can not close the center console cover with an accessory plugged in. 3. The lumbar support controllers top and bottom buttons don't do anything. 4. The cup holders are very awkward and accessible short term storage is lacking. 5. The rubberized coating next to the cellphone charging slot flakes off of the glossy plastic surface. 6. The "wireless cellphone charger" won't work if you have a protective case on the cellphone. Small things but very irksome. ESPECIALLY THE 2DOWN TO 1 SNAP DOWNSHIFT!!!! (Worst on a downhill stop/go.)
@cadillacdriven I've had my 01' DeVille since 01'. It's in nice condition and I'm 6'5...so, I do the lean, while my left leg/foot rests on the rocker, between the door and the seat. I haven't been able to drive that way with other "full size cars." That's why I've been with my Deville so long. So, can your leg fit between the door and the seat, to do the lean, like in the DeVille on your CT6? Because, I've been looking into the CT6 as my next car.
I have a 2016 CT6 3.6 L and when you try to drive it slow like in a parking lot its jerky,I don't think it's the transmission because it only does it when you have to drive slow, have you noticed that with your CT6?
@@CadillacDriven That's what I was meaning like if you slow down like if someone was crossing in front your car and then after they pass you give it a little gas it does it ,it seems to do better if I have it in sport mode, but in touring it will do almost everytime.I guess the next time I get a oil change I'll ask the service advisor if something can be adjusted or reprogrammed.
I was just thinking the same thing the other night when it was raining. Why didn't Cadillac put a bulb in the windshield wiper selector stick? Make it backlit! 💡 That way I could see right away, what wiper speed I have instead of taking my eyes off the road too long.
Daym... Thanks for point these cons out. That mirrow shouldnt of been listed as auto folding fo sho. Remote fo)ding is more like it. The one that gets me are the windows wont roll back up by remote... I can do that with my 2013 chevy cruze if i buy a plug and play control module.
Best to compare this to car in the same price range such as the Genesis G90 Though an available V8 and self closing doors make it have features that the Cadillac didnt offer
Honestly I'm more impressed with Hyundai/Genesis especially & Kia for what they are offering & their level of refinement fit & finish is way better than Cadillac even though Cadillac has been in the business for decades & they should actually be the "Standard Of The World" The way Cadillac skimps on quality & features is just ridiculous considering they're supposed to represent American luxury?? I love the CTS-V Sport & give kudos for the CT-6 Blackwing model (which was short lived) but I think Cadillac is getting lazy & not really focusing on pure customer satisfaction! I was recently in a Kia K900 & was blown away by it's build quality, materials & design layout! I think they should create a different name for their luxury line because the name Kia just doesn't do that vehicle justice as far as nameplate goes! Also the Genesis G80 & G90 in my opinion are better equipped with far greater attention to detail! Great review by the way & I totally agree with you. Another thing about the caddy is the door handle feels very cheap & not well put together, that is just unacceptable!!!
I've owned three CT6's and the first two 17's ended up in auction before four thousand miles. Build quality, electrical gremlins and that awful 8 speed transmission forced me to return them to the dealership. My '19 is the same car except for the improved 10 speed transmission. Remember that this is an entry level luxury car so GM had to cut expenses to keep the price down.
I agree I love a Cadillac but it’s not because it’s a quality vehicle. I’ve had multiple new Caddy’s and currently have a CT6 and CTS-V. The CT-6 still has plastic on the screen and just turned 23,000 miles or so and is kept indoors.
I got a 04 Deville DHS and I only paid 2 grand but It was 60k brand new In 2004 and I rlly love the car, but I would never pay that much for one. It's super sweet but a plastic rebadged Chevy interior isn't worth $60k
YES!!! THE STEERING WHEEL!!! Very disappointing. I'm 6'7" and I feel like it super reaching to the steering. Same problem with the XT5!!! The 2019-2020 refreshed models fixed that problem.
He's not knit picking about the steering wheel on the 2016-2018 CT6. I'm 6'7" and I feel like I have to super reach to grab the steering wheel. That'll produce a strain on your arms and shoulders. Very uncomfortable and unnecessary.
Seriously man, you are nitpicking a lot. Just be happy with what you have, good Lord. Why do people always have to focus on the negative? You know there are little children in the world tonight going to bed without food, and you’re worried about lighting up your 10 white adjustable seat button. 🤦🏻♀️

folding mirror option makes sense for cold climates. Its there for a reason.
