Pro TEKKEN 7 Tip - Dash Blocking & Blocking Lows

- A highlight from the stream on 5/18/2020. A viewer comments on dash blocking so I show how to do it and why its important for your game. Another viewer also asked about blocking lows and whether or not it is considered risky. Both important topics for Intermediate or Advanced TEKKEN players so I decided to talk it through during the matches. -- Watch live at / tk_anakin
It’s great when high level players share this kind of knowledge so that people like myself can learn the game properly, thanks dude 🙌
Any jin strats to a fellow jin main ( noob) what are your favourite stuff to do on offence?
RiD# 21 Control the neutral game with pokes to chip away at your opponent and create opportunities for whiff punishment, pressure them with strings or electrics to open up counter hits
@@zensei5659 thx man! Need to build my electric confidence.
RiD# 21 I’d be happy to do a guide over on my channel around some basic stuff, just keep practicing and don’t be afraid to get miss inputs mid match trying to do electrics it’s worth it in the end
@@zensei5659 I would like to spar with you but only if your from Europe (PC/PS4) cause i got shitty internet conection :D
I feel like your the perfect gate/bridge into the tekken community/game. You're a great player who's ready to teach at any moment even the most basic of mechanics. With visuals and real game implementation. Very great stuff with these tutorials, would love to see many more
the school of anakin has free tuition, what a sick deal
Ur profile picture horrifies m
You should really do this more. You explain it in a way that’s super understandable. Best tutorial on TH-cam!
Anakin's KBDC tutorial was the best out there , he has a way of actually explaining stuff instead of just simply saying what it is. I would love more tutorials from him.
His is really good. The other tutorial that helped me official understand an execute the kbd was speedkicks video. It breaks down the mechanics of the bd even deeper and how to practice it and turn it into muscle memory
What you mean NYK talking about frames for 3 hours circa 2009 wasn't good enough? /Sarcasm/
Chk speedkicks tutorial. It is the best till date.
Every time I visit this guy's stream I learn something new from the game, all the knowledge he shares is greatly appreciated.
Pls upload more frequently Anakin. We scrubs need your guidance.
I love how he just turns up when teaching time is over
Also THANK YOU for putting this up
Thank you Anakin! I’m so glad to see you upload your wisdom is valued.
Pretty solid explanation on this thanks for the tip (dash block pre-emptively not on react)
Man you straight to the point that's wild
So basically dashblock is just like a safe dash then innit
Hey man.. Been following you on most major TWT events past 3 years and This kind of video is what have been missing on TH-cam. No disrespect to Aris, MainManSWE, Jae and other online players.. their contents are helpful.. but yours I guess are really straight to the point. How to do it then demo and it shows. Thanks for doing it 🙏
I stopped playing tekken for a while played for like 2 years straight hit a wall and just had to stop playing I recently picked it back up and it’s like a whole layer of the game that didn’t exist to me before is now there but coming back and watching these anakin videos and I’m like damn he really really knows this game there’s a reason he’s top contender in the world
Thank you so much for this video. I've always thought that dash blocking/moving forward is just as important as KBD, but I haven't really looked into it. Thank you for your insight!
Just found anakins Tekken 7 tips vids, bouts to hop online ranked while listening to more TEKKEN tips!!!
I learned how to kbd thanks to you. Now this. You’re always on point! 🙌🏼
MAAAAAN THANK YOU
I NEEDED TO HEAR THAT BLOCKING LOW WAS BAD
...thank you
great phrase
"he is mixing himself up"
today i was playing and remember what my coach tought me
if he is punching outside you go inside, etc
Damm I feel like I'm in class, I've never heard of dash blocking before so thanks for the lesson.
Marcus Dobson Every pro dash blocks, if it’s just now coming to your attention in 2019-2020 then I don’t think YOU knew about it but the a lot of players have known about it for a very long time and it’s a fundamental thing. Not fake news :) try dash blocking its f,f~b really helps create hesitation in your opponent when they see you dash bc they don’t wanna get whiff punished or punished in general just how dragonuvs wr2 creates hesitation the moment you see him dash
You are putting out some really valuable content, thanks alot for these.
I have been looking for a guide on dashblock for like 3-4 months now. ty.
It's ironic talking about the netcode due to lobby situation this weekend. Oh man the amount of disconnects, lag, desyncs (including spectator), bugs galore were something else.
"Dont block low"
Me:ALRIGHT
gets hellsweeped*
Dont block low AT first (unless you have the experienced reads) and that way you can learn more about the opponents low attack usage.
If you keep getting hellswept over and over, then maybe it would be a good idea to figure that out
@@TkAnakin well yeah cause default should be high block, then low affer like in gg its the opposite. And not necessarily hellsweeps but theres characters who have non stagger kd lows, like zafina, and julia, so i always get messed up by those
Why did I just only seen this? I have a hard time approaching Defensive players. So We have this and the Anakin "How to Beat Defensive Players" video where else should I go? :D
I swear to god. Anakin is my new Sensei
Anakin pls upload more often we green ranks need you so much haha
Nice your vid landed on my recommended. Subbed. Cheers
Thank you for the tips Shifu Anakin
As a PlayStation player, would you recommend playing online to practice against people, this may sound like a no brainer but I've noticed a significant difference in the timing I need to complete combos. What can I do to improve besides practice mode and hitting the lab
Since you are using stick.
What do you prefer overall?
pad or sticks.
I think stick offers better movement
Congrats for your videos!very usefull:)..is this true also for mishimas?wd into block is a thing?
Yes wave dash into block is DEFINITELY a thing
As a claudio main, All i need is DA(s)H!
Most players who dash block online don’t have a throw break game..so 9 times outta 10 they’ll get thrown to death
These are facts lol
This man knows how to teach
This game does have bad net code and Bumco has done nothing to improve it. Lets hope for better net code in Tekken 8.
Whenever i dash block i get caught by a random hopkick lol
Facts, that's why you gotta block more than dashing
Youre dashing too deep, thats juat spacing. Get close enough for a low/mid mixup, far enough to block and punish a hopkick. It takes practice, which means youre gonna eat shit many times 😄
Dash and block almost immediately. The rhythym is precise.
I always got killed by that shit too. But when I labbed how to dash block properly, and I never got killed by it
Yeah of course if you're REEEAALLY unlucky it can happen, even to anakin as he explained it haha but it should happen very seldom
I dashblock to beat random hopkick lol
Phenomenal content!!
Also dude check out Maximilian's guide for silencing buttons while on stream.
what about lows that launch you ? i dont get it
5:17 pristine delivery
He plays on stick at home?
Really good advice.
subscribed a few days ago, fun to see uploads :-]
So Dash block = FF, B
No promo? "That's not why I play ranked"
THANK YOU TEACH THESE SCRUBS WHY RANKED IS NOT NECESSARY.
Your rank doesn't mean SHIT
Seeing the nice guy he is
It makes me feel sorry that ash trumped him in evo the way he did
I definitely underestimated him.. he was fairly new and I didnt think I'd make it that far in the first place. Definitely overlooked him but either way tournament sets are short sometimes it looks bad.. that's the nature of tourneys I guess 😂
It's okay at least he was the best player in the world or some shit. Not so bad after all lol
@@TkAnakin true..
what about ash made him intimidate u the most?
Good shit w/ da Bryan Fury! Spoken like a true Atl Korean 🤘🏿
Anakin using stick ??
Any tips for low block practice
Did you find out yet?
@@2_572 yeah although I havent played in 6 months
Nice moves keep it up
Did you just run up to Marduk And RAW Jet Upper him to his face? With no knee? BRUH
Can we at least blame the netcode when we dashblock properly ahead of time and get hit anyway? 😄
It happens! But rarely...But how do you know for sure its the net code unless you're an expert?
@@TkAnakin ...holy shit, I can't believe Anakin just responded to a youtube comment I left... I mean, I was just making a joke there tbh haha I didnt know you'd actually read these... If I'm being honest, I've lost infinitely more matches from not responding properly than from netcode issues
@@painandpyro I'm a regular person just like you haha. It's no biggie. I'm glad you're not game blaming! You got a bright tekken future ahead 😂
@@TkAnakin Well let's not get ahead of ourselves haha, but thanks, man, that means a lot coming from you. We just wanna believe the pros get salty too is all
@@painandpyro everyone gets salty, but pros dont let it get to them because they've played too much tekken to let one little moment ruin their experience. They get annoyed and move on and eventually you will also
So early they say no views

Every time he demonstrates the dash blocking he dies
I initially thought it was backbash blocking as electrics usually clip badly block backdashes
But probably forward dash blocking is best When you have a hard read/guess
Thx for the content i understand now 🤣
the netcode is cheeks, tho
This theory helps alot
