He thinks his opinions are facts and always looks for the most broken tech, even if it's on weaker characters (but he still uses strong mostly unless he finds something broken like he did with Kollector). The tier list he made for MK11 a while ago on a stream was downright laughable and shows he heavily favors abusable characters with abusable moves. Don't get me wrong, he's good at what he does. So don't take any of this criticism as me saying he's actually bad or carried by his characters like the average big fish online player. His reads are insane at times. But I just don't dig the playstyle of the same combo over and over and over and over with little changes here and there to start it up. That's not fun to watch to me and actually only serves to diminish what skill he actually has because doing the same thing over and over makes it look like you're good at memorization, not the actual game. And then there's those times he loses on purpose just so he can go into loser's bracket and coast to the finals. He's done it quite a few times. @Leon Silver in order to parry that super, you have to do the first party BEFORE the move freeze. You also have to press forward instead of back, which makes it impossible to block. Also, if he blocked even a single hit of the super, he would have been chipped out and would lose.
The editing of this video falls apart at the end of the FT10. They didn’t just “go play again.” It was mentioned in passing earlier in the video, but the set was expected to have SonicFox on Erron Black, though he picked Kitana later. Perfect Legend, after being 10-0’d by SonicFox’s Kitana got dissed and was handed the mic. The video is for some reason cut in this documentary, but he went on to say that he would have beaten SonicFox if he’d played Erron Black instead. Immediately after saying this, the admin went on the mic and said something to the effect of “Okay so we’re playing again with Erron Black?” PL cornered himself and dug his own grave by saying that, he basically *had* to play at that point. I’m not a good MK player, but the matchups are different between Kung Lao/Kitana and Kung Lao/Erron Black, with Erron Black being considered the easier matchup at the time(not sure if it was a winning matchup or not). PL also said that he would win buzz saw only, which was considered a weaker Kung Lao variation than Tempest, and then he actually switched to Tempest during the last match of the last set. It made no difference, SonicFox was just waaaaaay better. I was and still am a fan of Perfect Legend. I rooted for him to win EVO, and around MKX I used to watch his streams on the train to and from college. I think the constant 13-0 stuff is a bit tired today, but this documentary is about the event years ago, and it doesn’t illustrate what a satisfying and deserved beatdown this was, or show how Perfect Legend made this so bad for himself in the first place, and then went out of his way to make it even worse.
It really sucks the Perfect Legend's legacy is tainted by being that guy who got bodied by SonicFox, but it's history, and all history, good and bad, is important to learn from.
Its the nate robinson effect like how ppl forget he won a dunk contest one of the greatest bbal players at 5'9 but he won't be remembered for that getting koed by jake paul will be his legacy
Much respect to PL. Most people wouldn't have got themselves into that situation but I don't know many people who could've handled the fallout as well as he has. He was humbled and now he's humble. That is wisdom.
I feel bad for the guy, what he said about Kitana got buffed at the time and no one knew how to play against her makes sense too, I can understand sonic maybe could feel discreted but like the guy said, it was not his intention and Fox prooved it wasn't just the buffs and the lack of other's knowledge of the matchup againts her that got him the win in the tournament. That being said, I feel the humiliation and call outs are not deserving, it seems people scalated too hard on the guy.
I don't follow this close enough to know about this, but I would like to say that I love how this information was presented..it's cool to see quality documentaries done on things like gaming. Also from the interview with Perfect Legend...the guy seems relatable...he grew up in a trash talking area (I did as well) and he went for it. He's a 3 time evo champ and I'm betting most of the people sharing memes about him couldn't take a round from him. It's sad that people feel a need to tease or make fun of others vs. appreciate them for their achievements and talent, and to treat them as human beings when they're on top, but most importantly when they're not. In the end it just feels like cyberbullying that he has to deal with for what...being a competitor?
Nah, it all stems from the fact he lost 10-0, and he could've just said "GGs, I got outplayed" and walked off. TOKIDO has lost 10-0 before. But then he got on the mic and started making excuses like "oh I said I could body another character you play and you didn't pick them". That's when he went from a trashtalking competitor to someone who deserved to get mocked. He could've taken his L. He chose to be a douchebag and then take *another* L.
You gotta know when to stop trash talking If you don’t show regular people basic respect, even in a video game, it’s a good excuse for people to not treat you with respect.

Nah, it's the people. People LOVE it when someone loses like that and then continue to bully just to feel good about themselves. Thing is these same people are nowhere near perfect 13gend's achievements.
This might have not been such a big of a deal if it had not happened in the age of social media. That is why you see so few trash talkers in pro sports nowadays; some public outburst can haunt you forever. Even Jordan kept his trash talking primarily to just the court and off the media; everything else was handled through the lenses his PR team trained him to do.
actually no. its can slip away if he shut his mouth after 10-0. but he refused to accept it thats why. Even if he dont lead the scenario into 13-0, this story still been told again and again, remember evo #37? remember faker what was that? remember Boxer SCV rush? mostly because it fun to see a hot headed selfcentered confident man shattered to pieces, both mentality and dignity. @@MoneyTrees2012 Never once have they got on the mic after a loss and made excuses. The only people they shittalk are people who do wrong by the community or try to personally come after their identity lol
@@MoneyTrees2012 he has major ego now.
Overall he's a good but pretty cheesy player in the way he does things. Sometimes it's just downright dirty/wrong. But that's what the majority of people like these days.

@Leon Silver kinda like the equivalent of flawless blocking a like 10 hit x ray in mk11
This man dug his own grave with two shovels
It really sucks the Perfect Legend's legacy is tainted by being that guy who got bodied by SonicFox, but it's history, and all history, good and bad, is important to learn from.

You gotta know when to stop trash talking
If you don’t show regular people basic respect, even in a video game, it’s a good excuse for people to not treat you with respect.
