Youve shot me up from light blue to yellow ranks with all these tips its crazy how these simple things just go unnoticed tekken really need that tutorial mode. Preciate ya anakin!
I know I'm feeling the immediate boost as well. There are a lot of techniques that seem to be common place that new players just don't know exist that are so important.
I wish you made more videos. I always look for new content. There is none. I guess he explained everything he could. He can just do fighting videos like the main man and get views
Oh just fucking beautiful ! Using tournament footage, to show how techniques are used in competitive play is a stroke of genius. Not sure why content creators haven't done it before, but I always thought it needed to be done. It's so helpful with that little counter you put, it really helps to slow things down, cos watching on my own it becomes a little difficult to keep up, or even know if I'm analyzing a game correctly. Anakin with the top notch info, as always!
This is so important I’ve learned how to do this and now as a kazuya main I’m learning how to crouchdash guard over and over(so I can do it decently fast)so I can use that instead of wavedashing and not try to randomly block after a wavedash. I saw this from nene the dragon vs Qudans as he would do this instead of a wavedash sometimes and it would make qudans either throw something out or freeze up because of the 50/50 from the crouch dash. This concept has helped me out and I just started using it 2 days ago, it’s so informative
I never really noticed pros doing this much before, probably because it's not very flashy. After your last video about it, I watched an online Korean tournament and it was constantly in my face. Whole new perspective. Now to get good...
Love these videos. We'd met once in a Texas Tekken event. You used to mostly stream on Twitch back then and I'd said I only watch TH-cam and not twitch haha. Glad you bringing in high quality content in here.
This is one of the best tekken education vids I've ever seen. So much great info condensed into this one video alone. Keep it up Anakin! Thank you for spreading the knowledge.
After watching this video, I went into practice mode to practice and warm up. Then I got into a lobby with friends to implement it, and I got instant results 👌 thanks for making this video man, it’s super helpful!
In the last set, 2nd round he had you pressed against the wall. You did some unbelievable side steps and movements to reverse the positions. You’re really good. I need to watch your sidestep tutorials.
This is really helpful, thanks! this has also helped me understand the concept of wavedash blocking and why I see it being used so often by top level Mishima/AK/Bob players, I couldn't find any info about it online, but after watching this I realized its just similar to dash blocking and has similar use
Man you're damn good in coaching. Keep up the good work. I'm a super noob, but even I understood what you've said. But, it's a different matter applying it in game for me. Thank you again!
Thank you for this video and your advice/tips on dash blocking. I'm not eating as many rage arts and it helped me get out of the green ranks. More power.
These are really helpful man, thanks. You’re the reason why I started playing jack. If I could request something, can you do a similar in depth video on timing? That’s kind of a hard thing to grasp for some reason
Dash guard is very important. I still need to master it. But it has helped me a lot. And i like that he mentioned that there is a risk you get hit before guarding. Worth the time in practice mode, trust me!
If u play a character with a strong backdash it can be surprising how often you can make it wiff, they'll have to anticipate you being farther away and thats when u can interrupt with keep out jabs or fast counter hitting moves instead of backdashing.. Just a way of dealing with it if they mix in moves to catch ur stepping
Good point, I am a newbie but I have noticed as well that defensive players don’t like in your face pressure. But I’m a little slow about it. Once u said it n the video it was like the light bulb went off in my head. Thanx.
I think this is especially useful if you are cornered into the wall because your opponent has the space to create easy and safe whiff punishes. What ive notice is that using dash blocking after an attack near the wall that create space is helpful because my opponents will generally throw a fast ch mid option that will stuff out aggresive option and might either be in punishable frames or huge negative frames so I can leave the wall.
I am trying to learn Zafina at the moment but she seems to lack good tools to get in. This video is super helpful, because if someone isn't reacting to my dash blocks, that will be super helpful in terms of getting in and taking my turn
tldr "to be less predictable sometimes you should block after dashing, instead of always closing the gap with an attack, or always attacking after a dash, this way the enemy can reveal their strat more easily" this seems immensely obvious. "dont be predictable, pay attention to the enemy"
Excelente video y gracias por compartirnos tus trucos, quisiera hacerte una peticion tienes algun truco para realizar el fff+2 de forma segura y en distancia corta para que nos lo compartas? Y si es aplicable con todos los golpes de avance en todos los personajes?
Hey Anakin, great video! I apreciate youtube for showing you in my Feed, but please, please change the sound of the mouse click at the beginning of the video. For some reason it really kills the mood for me, maybe it sounds unprofessionnal, i don't know. I suggest to maybe lower it's volume and change it to a more clicky sound, as now it sounds like a trackpad click instead of a mouse click. Just a quick sugestion!! Thank you for your work on this video, wish you well!!
Nice feedback.. it was literally the first subscribe animation I googled...I was so happy when I put it in the video. I've been meaning to search for a better one 😂😂 Thanks
so basically dash blocking is similar to a feint attack but anyone can do it. I like the dash block count at the start never realized how common it was.
WARNING: Due to Tekken's horrible garbage tier net code, things like dash blocking are much harder to do online than offline. If you're doing this and getting hit by moves that range between 10 and 14 frames even though you were holding back way before they come out it's purely due to shit netcode. Don't doubt yourself or get down about your results while learning this. For this reason, it is why you feel like you electrics "just hit" oh I do it because it "just works" other examples are like asuka's b3 and steve's b1. Just keep at it and play offline as much as you can. Good luck to everyone out there trying to get better, It's a long road.
I was legit playing earlier thinking i need to be less predictable an block more. Also depends on my mood when i play sometimes its cause i wanna beat ppl down so im attacking alot sometimes to chill casual so im more defensive an patient, i need to find the balance.
Dash guarding is something you should apply very often, but for the love of God trying to do it online causes you to get unnecessarily launched like 40% of the time
Gotta try and keep your reactions up and maybe not dash in so much in the beginning. Usually I try to play against players with good connections so the matches can at least resemble a real game as much as possible. I can understand how trying to learn concepts can be frustrating if the connections are bad
Throwing out something fast and safe like a jab or df1 is a decent response to dash guarding. If blocked, you then have options to collect some information/bait a response from them, perhaps by dash guarding yourself or backdashing to see if they dash guard again or do something else.
So basically learn this when it's useful: after 5 -10 years of experience so you know how to punish everything that can be punished ;O *sigh* Welp, guess I'll get started.
This will help you early. Imagine that yoshi was a green rank who does a df2 or hopkick every time you dash up. This guy was very patient but just because he was skilled. Now against a worse player they'll panic or keep out incorrectly and suddenly you're getting free whiff punishes. Honestly this kind of stuff and block punishment carried me through greens and yellows.
Man why put so much effort into Tekken seriously? Like, there's no light at the end of the tunnel you know? At least in other games you could earn a living.
Light at the end of the tunnel? So you cant just play video games to kill time and have fun with friends? It's always gotta be about going pro and making money? What game are you currently building your career in???
@@TkAnakin Yeah you're right you can of course. I didn't mean to come across aggressive, it's just my own past experiences in the game, frustration honestly. I've seen people try to get very good at this game, and just end up on social welfare, with nothing in their lives, very sad honestly... I'd rather that didn't happen. Well done on all your success in Tekken, I wish you guys got a bit more support.

I've learned more in the past week from your videos then I have in any other way in the past three months.
i have been absolutely loving these videos! can't wait for more knowledge to be dropped!
Great video. I also really like the format where you show us stuff at the start and then you hop online to demonstrate it
