Great video! So it looks like video monetization is a helpful option for collecting royalties you'd be eligible for if say for example "King of My Own" (first song to come to my mind) became a #1 hit and people/bands on TH-cam started covering it because it'd obviously be getting a lot of attention so they would likely get a good number of views from creating their own version of it or is it more about people just playing the original song recording along with their own video clips? both?
@@nicholas87541 It's a great idea to have this covered because you're right you never know if the song blows up, it's good to have all your t's crossed.
Well I've been with Indiefy for 8 monthes and still didn't recieve a penny even though i made 1.3+M streams on spotify, so I think Imma go with tunecore for my upcoming album and my question for you is, is there a specific payment schedule? Like do they pay 2 monthes after the release and every month after that like i read on their website? Do they have an early cashout? Thank you for the review
The songs are published very late. It took 3 months to publish to a single store. I am still waiting for other stores. Whereas the alternative platforms released another song within a week to all major platforms.
and what is if i die? when after my death the account is deleted and my payments stop?! will all my songs just be destroyed when i´m dead? or is there an option like with distrokid that after my death my songs will be preserved no matter if the payment stop or the account got deleted!?
Hi Charles! I have a couple of questions about the prices.. because it says it's 9,99 per single per year, but is the word ''a single'' meant as 1 track per year or more tracks per year? And what if I decide to release 1 track today, but in 4 months one more track.. I pay another 9,99 but after 8 months have to pay for the renewal for my first single as wéll?? Like how does the renewal work as well.. last question: After knowing the answers on my previous questions, let's say there are 4 of my songs on my spotify, does that changes the price because it's the amount of almost an album? I really don't get how everything works haha, so I really hope you can help me, because the help centre of their page, isn't getting me further. Thank you so much again for all your video's! Bless!
I can help for sure, it sounds like you got it all figured out though. You're right in saying that a single means 1 track and that your renewal date would start when you first purchased it. If you release 4 singles but then want to switch it to an album, that's something you could do as well.
@@CharlesCleyn Thank u so much for your reply! Well.. it's more like let's say I start my first song on 01-01-2022 and pay 9,99 for that single.. then on 01-06-2022 my second single and have to pay another 9,99.. but then no single coming out at the end of the year 31-12-2022.. but do I then still pay the 9,99 for my first song that I brought out on 01-01-2022?? Even though I already payed for my second song? So the question is, is my second song my renewal for my first song or do i have to pay 3x9,99 in one year? (In this situation).. Again thank u so much for all information, you're the best! 🙏🏽🙏🏽✨
Hey Charles. So I actually use distrokid, and uploaded my first song. It is currently on a topic channel. I created an official artist channel the other day and now the song also appears on my official artist account in a "playlist". I was wondering if you knew if it was possible for the song to transfer from the topic channel to my official artist account (the account I'm currently writing this message with) and only appear under my artist channel. Thanks for reading this, keep up the great content!
How do I share the percentages of the master record? In the publishing administration section it only lets me split the publisher and not the master. Or I'm wrong?
I watched this and your Distrokid review and I had a question. Why do you use both services? Isn't just one better for having all of your content in one place? Thanks
It can be better but sometimes there are use cases for multiple distributors. For example, maybe you but publishing on tunecore but the flexibility of multiple releases on distro. This is my case.
Thanks for the video. Regarding whether the Publishing Service is worth it: My local PRO advised me that many successful local artists go without a publisher altogether. It's not clear to me what TuneCore Publishing can accomplish for me - in terms of collecting royalties - that my local PRO wouldn't do anyway. (Apart from making efforts to secure sync licencing, but the details on this are sketchy in my view.) - Any thoughts on this?
hi Charles...i have a question. Can i undo a song i have submitted on tunecore? because there was an error in the mixing I just realized it. I just sent it about 5 hours ago. And I want to resend.
Distrokid p1ssed me off early in the year but it gives you More Bang for the Buck.. 20 dollars a year for ALL THAT, can’t beat it !! Tune-core feels too PRICEY .. Great Review tho 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Tunecore is milking upcoming independent artists. They take your song, don’t distribute nothing, no royalties, and no response anymore from several emails
Fraud company, that's stalling music producers money, and even more - they getting a money to release your track. You paying 30$ and receiving 0.30$ for one year.
@@TSco77 are you ready to give someone your money and not get back anything? Then common. I'm not giving here a better suggestion, I just said that Tunecore is fraud company, who not paying you the money you received from streams and downloads.
