2009 Honda Element SC. Building on the success of the Element SUV, Honda takes its rolling dorm room concept to the next level with the Element SC. Designed to appeal to a more street-wise crowd, the SC does away with the all-wheel-drive option and substitutes racy 18-inch wheels, a stiffer suspension and a lower ride height. The SC also jettisons the industrial-grade plastic floor mat in favor of a carpeted passenger compartment. Aimed squarely at younger drivers who enjoy modifying their own vehicles, Honda wisely offers a long list of accessories specifically designed for the Element. The Honda Element's are the BEST! - this is my second one, i had an EX and now an SC. Very perfect vehicle for an active person especially here in Hawaii. This car goes everywhere with me; the beach to Maunakea. BEST CAR!
everybody hating on Honda can suck it, noone can beat their engines...I had one with 350k on it and it still ran good when I sold it.
Drove my 1990 Accord to 260K before I sold it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was still kicking today. That thing was bulletproof.
It's just because ricers mostly choose Honda. But then again Honda Motors is ment for everyone, so everyone hating on Honda can drive there 1998 Kia.
@Homeslicehero had too many cars.
@@Randze a kia from the 90s now theres a good joke those 90s kias alll broke down by now lmao
Element > Scion xB
Element > Nissan Cube
Element > Kia Soul
I've had my 2008 Sc Element now 9yrs Just had to replace the starter. Which I found was now located inside the exhaust manifold. Costed me $475 to get fixed. 250K miles. That Vtec engine is so bad ass. Brown in color with a black scoop on the hood. The only thing Honda sucks at, is the paint fads out faster than any other brand car. Love my baby!!
The starter can be removed/replaced from under neath, for free.
It's too hot inside an exhaust manifold, to put the starter there. I don't know what you're talking about.
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 Might have meant underneath?
That was some terrible acting by the woman in this video. Honda needs to bring this vehicle back on a grand scale.
this looks way better than the older element !
Coolest little smoke box. Currently looking at picking up a 2009 5 speed 4wd with 140K
honda element is very unique and even if you dont like it you have to respect its ambition.
Airbag recall? When did this happen? I was thinking about getting one.
this chick is just trippin strugglin with the seats, gettin in and out of the car, puttin he crap in geez
Element SC is Beastly... (thats a good thing)
I bought my 07 SC new-64k miles later I still love it. There is just nothing else that feels like it. Still don't like Honda's dealers attitude though.
how many does is seat??
Honda RULES!!
great car i love it.
i want to buy it soon :)
So this is only available as a FWD? But still, surprising amount of torque considering it's a Honda.
took me 2 decades but i finally have my own 5spd AWD at 28 yrs old.. most of the comments are half of my age lol
I want to get one but the price on these cars went up!
@princeofallchickens Its nothing like the hummer, and If you've driven one, you'd love it. It's a smooth ride, and very useful.
Good review; it convinced me that this vehicle would (not) be a good fit with my lifestyle.
It's funny, I hated this thing when it first came out. Then they ditched those cheeseball plastic corners and it started to grow on me. Then, the bass player in our band bought one and I warmed to it. It's the perfect vehicle for musicians. But, I do have to say the back seats suck balls if you have to sit in them for any length of time. They're not at all comfortable. The rest of the vehicle is great, though. It's ideal for road trips.
Sept. 21, 2022. I'm going to pick one up today. a 2007 SC with Auto-Trans. Only $4500 and 145K miles.
Now they want 8k for 160k miles bruhh
Dope cars.
She doesn't mention that the owner's manual warns not to corner too fast, "tipping hazard". And the rear seats do not fold flat, if she means like in the Chrysler minivans. They can fold down, that is, the back can be fully reclined, but as she showed, to clear the cargo area, they have to be flipped up sideways, which blocks the driver's view out the side windows. I generally leave my back seat in the closet--they're heavy to haul around in the vehicle or out of it--my injured back does not enjoy taking them out or putting them back inside.
I just bought a 2008 Honda Element in black with 5000 miles!! wahoo!
@streesmut70 why do you say that?
this new one looks way better than the older one
Fuck yeah!
@joshuavargas18 You might want to check again. The payload, at least the early models, it only rated at 685lbs! No kidding.
@Hayaishin they are easy
This looks like the 2008 SC. I thought cosmetics changed a bit on the 2009.
Wow, fast forward 2023 and the Element SC is worth 3x then a Scion XB. #HondaFTW
The seats are only difficult to work with if your a 100lb woman.
Glad they took away the plastics, oh gwad how i hated those!
I've got this car, and can't wait to sell it. The doors are hella awkward letting passengers in and out in tight area's. Major blind spots when you fold the seats up. But by far the worst mistake Honda made with the SC was making it fwd. This thing sucks in even in a rainstorm. Don't even mention snow! It's the terrible.
its trying to be a scion xb
this one ( SC) is kinda weak. Especially with the styling:-(
ugly or not is very subjective. this car is made in/for americans which is very well known for the japanese trio to built a car just for US market, which why bother putting Japanese badge on since it's not japanese in anyway :S
only 4 but u have a lot of room in the back
@DtoWnSux1
Now , Honda discontinue a manufacture of this SUV , it's countdown to discontinue marketing of this SUV
For a Clubman-door styling SUV it's worst and expensive than CR-V
Very slanted review and full of errors. The seats are not "tattoo" inspired. They are 18 inch wheels, not tires. The seats are not as difficult to move as the actress tries to demonstrate. It was never meant to be a competitor with the Jeep Wrangler. They are not suicide doors. Suicide doors can be opened independently. The elements rear doors can only open if the front door is opened first. It is not difficult to exit from the rear in tight parking spaces. The front door can be closed.
lol u thinking honda only in usa?
LOL that's sure m8,cube is horrible
ok, did these EVER come in rwd? i could have sworn i saw Honda selling these as rwd trucks...
No, the SC is front-wheel drive a real-time all-wheel-drive system was available on the other trim levels, which basically send power to the rear wheels during front wheel slippage. Most of the time they all wheel drive models riding in front wheel drive. I believe there was a custom-built one that was modified with rear-wheel drive. th-cam.com/video/OoSeu42qKOY/w-d-xo.html
TOO EXPENSIVE
Horrible review. They kept repeating themselves and contradicting themselves. And the seats are easy as hell to move up...
i have one of these...
can't wait to sell it, it really really sucks
wtf? vtec has nothing to do with low end torque. doesnt even engage in these rides until 3500 rpm
thats a hummer wannabe and an epic fail
UGLIEST car ive ever senn in my life
the designer of this car should really be shameful of himself for designing this piece of junk
Worst SUV in the universe
Ew, what an ugly car.
My baby is at 150k bought it brand new in 2010 still running like a dream, if you think this car is ugly you're delusional!
