I can imagine. I wish Honda had brought it out back when I was shopping around for a new vehicle last year. My only option for this type of vehicle if I wanted something new was the Kia Soul, and that thing is garbage compared to Honda quality. I'm happy with the 2019 F-150 I ultimately went with, but I might have chosen a 2019 Element instead if that had been available.

    Errors in this video:
    1. You can't hose out the interior, there are no drains. You can however use a little water and mop out the entire interior.
    2. They offered an AWD version from the beginning in 2003 (not just in 2011). AWD version also comes with a large rear moonroof.
    3. Honda is not bringing it back (as of now).

I can put the wheelchair beside the rear seat with one seat removed then I have threes avail for people.. With both rear seats hooked up I can load the wheelchair between the rear seats but then I only have the two seats in front for people. I usually take out both rear seats as it is only my wife and me and I have room for the w/chair Both of us ands lots of cargo. My “Ele-phant: 2003 AWD EX Automatic with 265,000 miles On it. It runs like a top - fast as hell. Repairs in the past few years: Rebuilt Nixon Denso Alternator. Forth set of tires, A/C compressor, tune-up, three windshields, two left and one right window regulators, has many small dings and it’s shine is a little dull. Also about 200,000 miles she had the typical Problem of reaching 25 or 30 MPH and stalling out. Replaced the VTEC solenoid oil pressure spool with it’s screen. Less than $50 and an hour’s work. No stalling out now.

The vehicle was meticulously taken care of, almost entirely with the Honda dealer, and all maintenance records are on line in the Honda database. I was lucky to find it. Elements were simply ahead of their time. Very spartan. Cargo hooks throughout the back. Power outlets in the back. You want road noise; You got it. You want un-refined; you got it. You want reliable; you got it. I just hope the new ones have more space for a larger battery.

Scotty, I enjoy watching your videos, they are very informative and usually rather accurate. However, you mentioned in this video that Honda sold the Element with rubber floors so that you could take it to the beach and just hose it out with water after. This is NOT correct, Honda did NOT design the floor of the Element to be hosed off like a Jeep. If you do this, you will cause major damage to your Element. This is a myth about the Element and it is unfortunate because many Element owners have regretted doing so. Please refer the page in the owner's manual that calls for the "hose down your floor option." It does not exist.
Most importantly tho, can you please site a credible source (specifically from Honda, or Car and Driver Magazine) where the Element has been legitimately announced? There are a few bogus articles about a new Honda Element coming soon, but, that has been going on for several years. Honda has not announced a 2021 Element in the works. It is just not accurate. Please provide a source that is credible. It does not exist.

True, they were also selling every CRV they could make and couldn't make enough of them. The plant in Ohio built both the CRV and the Element, however the Element had seen a considerable sales drop. The plant capacity and resources going to a model that doesn't sell, when you can use it towards one that sells out, is the main reason they ditched the Element. But like you said they would have had to do a major redo since they had put almost no updates other than minor trim and bodywork (not for the better, at least on the exterior). I have two early ones, (03,06) both with 5-speed manual transmissions and absolutely love them. The original design was clean cut, however they appeared to try to change it slightly just so they could say they changed it and I think the later ones were less well, cute. I have heard that the last model year actually had steel fenders instead of the iconic plastic panels, anyone know if that's true or not?

So, these dumb articles get posted in the Element subreddit every few months and there are a lot of ways to tell that they're not real. This uses some quotes from the most recent article I've seen.
"The Japanese company will use the same engines as in the previous version."
This is ridiculous, Honda hasn't used the K24A engine in a USDM car since 2011
"The configuration will stay the same - two- rows/5-passengers"
The element never had 5 passengers
"The standard equipment for the base model includes cruise control, and lanes assist system, automatic climate, AM/FM/CD with 4-speaker, and much more."
This is remarkably bare bones for a 2021 model car
"Of course, if you choose the higher EX, which costs around $2,000 higher, you’ll get a powerful 270 watts sound system, XM radio, and digital dashboard."
Wow, the same specs as a car from over a decade ago, what luxury!
In every single article, all of the pictures are just pictures of an original facelift element that have been slightly photoshopped to make it look a little different. I mean, the picture he shows in the video looks almost exactly like an original Element. No car company is going to release a car that looks exactly like a car from almost 20 years ago (except Nissan, their lineup is ancient)
And most importantly: No auto journalism site has written anything about it, and Honda hasn't released anything

Yeah fit is actually surprisingly probably the most reliable or one of the most reliable Honda vehicles out there. It's just small but is reliable . I agree on the made in Japan vin number part. My 2005 Hyundai Elantra is made in Korea and has been very reliable

I paid $2500 for mine with 212, 000 great interior and exterior , with 5spd manual. Unfortunate part was just the wear and tear parts that needed to be replaced. Tires , suspension, CV axles and whatever. Motor and trans are perfect. They are expensive, but so ive realized that now everything has gone up in price! Book value when i bought mine was nearly 5,000 with everything nicely kept except the wear items. End of the day i built mine back to its book value and know it inside and out. Keep looking and be patient they still around for a good price

Will Moto704 I hear ya on those wear items. I was driving when the cv axle broke. Freaked me out because it sound like the trans had failed. So far I’ve replaced shocks, ac compressor and condenser, starter, throttle body, and am about to replace the radiator. Sounds like a lot but it is 16 years old approaching 300k miles.

Honda element is a good vehicle but it does have some major blind spots that you have to be aware of. The part of the vehicle that separates the windshield form the front windows is really wide and creates a large blind spot, just be aware of that if you thinking of buying one. Other than that a great car.

I own this exact car (same make, model, year, trim, and color) and love it. It does have kind of a weird automatic transmission though, almost like it shifts at "strange" times when it shouldn't. Mechanics I've taken it to can't see anything wrong with it.
