Seeings how this is a 2 year old video, I'm sure someone mentioned it already, but right behind the downward facing docking port would be a great place for an ORE Detector!!!! LOL.... Kinda hard to mine when you don't know where the ore is. Just busting your chops. Great build bro! I really love that you taught so many ppl the quick tips on build-menu management. I wish someone would have told me all those things a long time ago! You deserve more viewers, but you Earned my SUB with this build, brother!
Very helpful I was having trouble building a stable miner and this answered all my questions. Also had some great tips I didn't know about. I really like the way you took it slow and explained everything you were doing and why. It was way better than most of the beginner videos I have looked at. Thank you very much!
Thanks. I just started and this is officially my first flying ship, your tutorial was the only one that I was actually able to follow as a noob in the game.
this video may be a year old, but it's still very good, this was very helpful as a beginner i don't know how to make a fully functional normal ship without anything, and this video I know how to make simple ships for myself
your video was very nice and i like the design a lot. i understood your way of explaining very well and i could easily follow along unfortunately i had a bad experience trying to use it (i imagine entirely user error related lol) i dug a hole with it, then it started acting up. i couldn't get it back out, it just kept hugging the wall on the side and would not go forward. the power eventually ran out and i deconstructed it out of frustration
batteries dont store 1mw. they store 1mwh wich is entirely different. 1mwh means that if you have a power output of 1mw on the battery it wil deplete in 1 hour if its 2mw in 30 minutes etc
I always see early miners being built horizontally, which is OK if you are starting in space and no gravity. If you have to deal with gravity, then you need most of your thrust pointing down to support the ore’s weight. Build you base off the ground a few blocks with its connected off the ground. Build your miner vertically. Quickly upgrade to a box design with a Med container and 4 verticals drills. You can pack in enough atmo thrusters to support a full load and maintain maneuverability with a little care. If you can’t manage to pilot it, skip the medium container or fill it half way.
Build a big body rover with a connector. You can get much better range on a big block body Ore Detector than a small body one. Then you can drive around looking for ore with your buggy, then hop into the miner to fly off and mine it... Then you can make it automatically fly back to base to unload stuff while you look for more ore, but that's beyond me at the moment.
It's got a serious lack of thrust when loaded, like to the point I had to throw out regular stone to get light enough to roll and orient my way back to the opening of the cavern I made above me.
Even after months.. usefull video :-) I did not know anything about.. production ques or whatever.. (came back after years of not playing SE so..) so found out a lot of nice stuff. Also.. 1 drill for such big ship? damn.. I would expect that you would need 4 for same job.. cool to know.
My only issue with this, is that when it's completely full, you will fall if you aren't completely level... Very difficult to back out of a hole if you dug straight down. Make sure to coil down in dig mode so you can safely get back out
21:19 How exactly do you proceed with charging the vehicle? Is it by placing on the connector? i'm kind of new so i'm not sure but i build this guide and Thank you much easier than by hand :)
I know this has been up for a year I just want to say it's better to build off a rotor then a landing gear you well be able to change your battery as you are biulding
yo when its full it doesnt fly. I only use 1 cargo , 1 battery, 1 drill. my ship is balanced. but when it fills up, if im not holding space bar constantly or if I let go of space bar for a second it will fall out the sky like a rock. the thing is you have same amount of vertical large thrusters as I do with 1 container, and you use 2, so I'm confused how you keep it in the sky.
I am new to this game, too. But if I had to guess I´d say that you are on a planet with a different gravity or your battery might be running out of energy. Try using 2 batteries instead of one or remove the cargo and rely on cockpit and drill inventory for the beginning. Also try ships out in creative before you build them in survival.
@@vtk.pyr0 I was stalling out. once I know how to fly and keep it balance and use my large thrusters to go straight up then fly forward. I was flying like it was an empty ship at full compacity and was stalling it. then had no thrust to catch my self and it sank like a rock.
Mining ships are tricky lil sods.. :) The artificial horizon is your friend when flying full of ore, flat & steady ftw.. The weight readout in the bottom right corner also gives you an idea of how much more you can safely mine, before getting too heavy..
This is probably the clearest video on how to build a simple miner. Very easy to follow along and straight forward. Thanks keep it up.
First space engineer I subbed to, clear and concise. No fluff. Thank you

Just discovered the "added to planner" becouse of you, game changer lmaoo

As a newbie to space engineers i have been struggling with ship building.
Your video has been a great help.
nice video, I learned so much stuff! tyvm

Great build. Thanks for going through that slowly enough that somebody could follow along.
Thanks for the tips! Your tutorial really helped me.
Thanks for this. I'm new to SE so this is VERY helpful. One question though. Shouldn't you have added an Ore Detector to the ship as well?
yes
Such a nice and proper video! Really needed a tutorial like this

same thing happened to me.
i think your landing gear locked to the ground turn off autolock in the controll pane
That’s really great . Thanks mate.

wait im confused, can you connect smaller conections to bigger ones?
no

It could use an Ore Detector, but otherwise nice build

I tweeked it with more reverse thrust it didnt have enough thrust to pull straight out
The placement of that landing gear prohibits the use of that downward connector when docking with economy stations.

Great video!
useful video thanks for the help
Gravity works great in lieu of downward thrusters. If your ship is really overloaded and you press 'C' you can crash, I've done it. :(
Thank you for the great instructions. With this build can you show it with a hinge. Also how does one copy/save it?
When looking at what ever you build just ctrl + b.
press F10 to view blueprints.
@@painstudios148 Thank you. There is a lot of stuff to learn about this game. And I mean a lot. Lol.
Nice video. Will build that in my world to 👍👍
Would it be possible to upload it to the steam workshop in order to project it with the projector ?

Resources won’t all transfer to large storage. Wait for building queues to use resources. How to transfer resources all at once?

Batteries when built come with a quarter capacity charge. When you dock a ship it shares power with your base.
Most helpful, thank you.

Do you know what button to queue crafting of build planner for an Xbox controller
Lb and 2 squares button

That's because you have Dampeners off, it's imposible to thrust up, then going like that, enable dampeners with Z
