You called me out on my “room where you close the door and casually walk away from”! *sigh* Gonna tackle it today! Thanks for the motivation Danie! Your art room looks AMAZING!! 👍🏻💕🥰💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Denise S I used to call them “rooms of death” because they both spiritually sucked the life out of you & often were physically dangerous by all the junk on the floor & perched precariously too high. Had both a sewing room & garage like this. You also have to understand whether you are the kind of person that can handle having hidden storage. I used to always organize things into boxes so the room looked neat but then I lost my ability to deal with what was in them so they’d sit unopened for years & I’d repurchase what I already had. So I had to figure out how to have the stuff put away but still know what’s in it either through labels or transparent/semitransparent bins.
It isn’t that I didn’t care about your change in space. I was very please that you made changes to your space that you wanted. But, honestly!, the best part of this share for me was the joy you clearly took in each step of the changes you made. Thank you. I’m still smiling at your smiles and dancing joy🙂
When Danie said "I feel like I can just exhale" I inadvertently breathed out in the most calming way. Thank you for sharing all the positivity and brightness!
This looks great. I did my craft room at the beginning of Covid. I also Marie Condo'd the room. It stressed me out for 4 days. After sorting through all my stuff for 2 days, it still looked like I hadn't got rid of anything. It was a painful well, but looks great now!
Ok this is my favorite makeover to date! Love that it’s organized but has easy access to supplies (so important for a creative space!) so functional but also decorative. Love love love 👏🏻💓
These are the kinds of room makeovers I like the best, seeing creative people re-do their own creative space. Not only does it scratch those reorganize, redecorate itches like all room makeovers do, it gives some insight into how other creatives set up to make their processes more efficient. Not just inspiring how a room should look, inspiring how a room should WORK and how to make creativity as unencumbered and free as possible. Thanks, Danie! (PS that two-panel paint drip piece is dope!)
I commend anyone who can successfully wrangle a room that is filled to the brim and chaotic and turn it into a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. Nice job Danie and thanks for some great takeaway ideas for the space I have yet to wrangle 😄
I absolutely love this makeover! Oh how I wish I could afford to change all of my thrifted, mismatched and sagging storage items/shelving. I’m not really complaining, I’m super thankful that I have a craft room at all!
I started to rebuild and organize my own studio as C19 ramped up and had to put a pause on it to do homebound distance education with my ASD kiddo and now that it is over, I am trying to find the will to get back into my studio full time... your DIY video actually helped me get back a little of that desire to actually do it! YAY!
I love how the black is repeated, in the (fabulous idea!) cart of "in progress", stool, foot ease mat & light fixture...along with the white, wood & greenery of plants. The table is brilliant use of space!
girl, i been doing DIY forever, having a father who was a carpenter and I never saw that tape hack! LOVE IT, need it... will use it ... best organizer video for my needs. picked up a few great ideas. Been doing mine similar, but ya still solved a few things so thanks! and your new area loos great and so functional...
It turned out SO CUTE! I think my favorite part is the craft paper under the table. Out of the way but always ready to go. So smart! I'm usually using old newspaper for my messier crafts, haha.
You can always add canvas storage by doing a drop down holder from the ceiling (sort of like how people store kayaks?). They’re super space efficient and easy to install.
Well, Dani, I’ve spent the last week organizing my studio, and let me tell you that your room looks empty compared to mine! I’ve got decades of fabric, yarn, and other fiber crafts. Add in sewing machines, a serger, a loom, three antique sock knitting machines.... My quilting frame doesn’t fit in here, and we won’t mention the flatbed knitting machine I just purchased. I loved watching what you did to your room, and envy your wall space! I have windows...lots of windows. And a fireplace. I put up my ironing board in front of that (I will never have a fire in there), and bought six foot tall shelving units to put in front of the windows on one wall. I set up all my shelves high enough off the ground that my robo-vac can get under there. I can’t to wait to work in my organized “new” room!
What a calm room Danie !!! Having the desk in the middle pulls the room together and gives you lots of craft space around it to reach over and pull. I love your artwork too girl. You're very gifted. Be well. Much love ❤️
I found a counter height expandable dining table at Home Goods a few years ago. It’s huge! I put it in the middle of my sewing space so I can access it from all angles. The base has a big drawer for supplies and a shelf on which my 3 machines can fit. One of my favorite purchases of all time.
Oh Danie you gave me inspiration and a kick in the pants to get my room painted and my craft space organized. I am envious of you I am 3 hours from an Ikea and don't have a vehicle that all my "wants" would fit in. I love your style and look forward to your creative diys.
I use the Ivar shelves in all my rooms except the bathroom. In the kitchen it holds my microwave and baskets with food items (my pantry), in the bedroom I added a drawer unit and use it as dresser/wardrobe (built in closets aren't a thing in Germany). In the living room it acts as my TV stand, in the crafty room it's for storage as in this video, with many boxes for keeping like with like. In the hallway I use one as storage above my freezer, the 83cm version is wide enough. I love the possibilities and adjustable heights of the shelves. Reorganizing is so easy with this system.
Omgeeee I needed your video today. I’ve been staring at my art space for months now. I may move one thing from one side or another. Thank you Danie! I loved the colourful painting you did of a woman. Live in Colour! Exactly!! 🌈🦋💐
You gave me a serious "she knows my secret shame" moment. I'm gonna go to my art space and start making some mental notes😂! Thanks for the inspo, Danie!
I have two favorites: the air plants in the little round globes on the wall, and the perfect way your shelving unit fit into the little enclosure on the side. I wish I had a craft room.....
This is EXACTLY my situation! The art room that turned into a chaotic storage space. My room layout is so similar to yours including one window and wall to wall stuff. Each time I try to tackle it, I get overwhelmed, walk out and close the door. So stressful, and frustrating to find anything. The transformation is inspiring. Maybe this will finally give me the kick in the a** I need.
So satisfying to watch! Living vicariously thru u and wishing I could pitch my kids stuff and make a room for mine...instead if jamming everything into every nook and cranny I can find. Such a dreamy space,
Finally! A before video that actually looks like my art room lol. I have been watching all of these videos where the room isn't even messy and I'm like come on this is not even realistic or helpful for me. Thank you for sharing your actual mess for those of us with real busy lives and real messy art rooms :-)
Thank you for sharing your creative life. I have a room just like your “before” and now you’ve helped give me some direction and inspiration. I LOVE your videos! Keep up the good work, and thanks again!
Hi Danie! I really like how authentic you are, showing your messy room and how you fixed it. Also when you try something, doesn't work and then try something else. Once I watched using an art brush on a chair!! The same happened to me!! XD You are great!
I've been working on my crafting space most of the day, just stopped to have a break and found your video. Wish I had those lovely storage units but I'm making do with my old furniture, which still needs to be painted and styled a lot better. Thanks for the inspiration.
I started art college this year but before that I’ve had the habit of collecting art supplies- anything you think of, too many of one thing 😭😭. I’m behind in college rn and I was living like a hoarder in my room (because of the mess after projects). Literally felt it when you first showed that room 👌🏻😩🤣🤣 Edit: Just finished watching the video and I’m inspired! 😌
First, this room looks so beautiful! This tool is welcoming and inspirational. I love how you committed to the change you needed to see in order to have a space for creativity to flow. My favorite is the whole room. I am inspired by you! Thanks Danie!
I am currently working on my own craft room. I really love how vertical you went with your storage. I fell in love with the Ikea Ivar shelving. I was so disappointed that it was out of my price range. Hopefully I can figure something else that will work. Thank you for the inspiration and the love you pour into your videos. When I see you have a new video, I get so excited.
Hi Danie, thank you for some really good inspirations! I only have a corner and the table of my dining room to explore my creativity but I do have a large Ivar shelving unit painted white to organise paints, canvases and other utilities (I mostly paint BTW). What I did, is storing my brushes and pallet knives into the small Sunnersta boxes which can be hung on the side bar of the Ivar shelving. This gives me more room on the shelfs and the option to get an additional shelf as some of my brushes are rather long. :)
Currently sitting on the floor of my "throw stuff in and casually walk away" room. It was getting to the point where I couldn't casually get through to the upstairs. 😅 Just going to watch this and hope I can muster the courage to tackle this monstrosity of a room. 😩
One of the best! I loved the way that you used what you had as much as bringing fresh new items into your space; it's a great blend and really inspiring xx
You know Danie, I am reasonable organised. Then my kids dropped of stuff, one went smaller, other went anti squat as Northern Europe has a housing problem in big cities, studying, and a small dorm room, and mom's attic and shed is overflowing with "not my stuff". Even in my cellar is porcelain of one of them as it doesn't fit in the kitchen. I honestly need Marie Kondo to talk to my kids. Love your new craftroom. Organised, cosy and spacy. Well done.
Great transformation Danie! I hear you about having one of those "rooms". Right now it's the guest room while we're redoing the bedroom we keep for our grandson here. Luckily no one is visiting during the pandemic so it worked out.
I just started to organize my work space today, I was looking for inspiration videos and I after watching some videos I came across with your video and I identify with you! Thank you 💕
👍🏻👍🏻 organizational is the KEY 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You called me out on my “room where you close the door and casually walk away from”! *sigh* Gonna tackle it today! Thanks for the motivation Danie! Your art room looks AMAZING!! 👍🏻💕🥰💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mine is a whole camper that is supposed to be my she camper.
It isn’t that I didn’t care about your change in space. I was very please that you made changes to your space that you wanted. But, honestly!, the best part of this share for me was the joy you clearly took in each step of the changes you made. Thank you. I’m still smiling at your smiles and dancing joy🙂
I genuinely sat down tonight and opened up youtube thinking to myself: "I hope Danie made a video. I could use some happy Danie energy right now."
When Danie said "I feel like I can just exhale" I inadvertently breathed out in the most calming way. Thank you for sharing all the positivity and brightness!
You just got me inspired! My crafting stuff is all in stacks of bins in the basement. I need a DDP (DIY Danie Plan)!
hahaha I like that! :)
You’re making me want to organize all of the things. 😍 The room looks awesome!
My favorite part: the wood shelving. Very functional. I started painting art recently and I am just loving it! You are an inspiration indeed!
Finally! An art/craft room makeover that doesn't involve scrapbooking!!!! Yeah!!! You've given me some great ideas for my den/craft room!
This looks great. I did my craft room at the beginning of Covid. I also Marie Condo'd the room. It stressed me out for 4 days. After sorting through all my stuff for 2 days, it still looked like I hadn't got rid of anything. It was a painful well, but looks great now!
Love the trick with tape for hanging pictures.
Looooove your hair, not just the color, but how you do it! Your work is amazing too of course
HOW are more people not talking about that brown paper curtain rod hack that is GENIUS
You are simply adorable! What a pleasure to watch while I lay around trying to talk myself into cleaning and organizing my space.
ROSALYN H.
I am in my late 50's and I find you so inspiring, and above and beyond talented . THANK YOU
The tape hack is GENIUS!!!
i am only at 2min..but i know this will be soo satisfying..cause we neednmore disastrous rooms like this..
I love your vibe and that you make pinterest mood boards!! Fabulous!
I love that your room is real not so fancy not all preppy just real great job love it
Very inspirational. I love that you show to cut in first when you paint. That's what I do. ☺️
Ok this is my favorite makeover to date! Love that it’s organized but has easy access to supplies (so important for a creative space!) so functional but also decorative. Love love love 👏🏻💓
I didn't know about the tape hack! *THANKS*! 💕 Room is beautiful 🌸

We are obsessed with Ivar items. A DIY Danie Ivar hack to create doors would be pretty amazing.
Definitely that corner shelf unit... HUGE favorite 😍
Adore you! Great room! 2020 has been very difficult and your video's have made me smile and helped me to feel better. Thank you!
HOLY CRAP my craft room looks exactly as your “before” room. I needed this video for motivation to tackle it. Thank you!!!
You can maybe at least coordinate them all with a can a paint.
Looks amazing!! I love a good purge and organize - so satisfying! Love the light and how bright the room looks with the new colour.
Sometimes one needs more than just a thumbs up button. I'm "hearting" this! 😊💖👍💝
This was the inspiration I needed to organize my space today! I love how motivating your videos are!!😊❤
YES HARRY POTTER DIYS 😃😃😃😃
I started to rebuild and organize my own studio as C19 ramped up and had to put a pause on it to do homebound distance education with my ASD kiddo and now that it is over, I am trying to find the will to get back into my studio full time... your DIY video actually helped me get back a little of that desire to actually do it! U have such a warm personality. Really admirable
Loved the tape hack. So glad your artsy farts space is where you want it.
I love how the black is repeated, in the (fabulous idea!) cart of "in progress", stool, foot ease mat & light fixture...along with the white, wood & greenery of plants.
The table is brilliant use of space!
The tape hack to hang picture frames is brilliant! Going to try that next time.
It’s so beautiful! I love the paper over the work bench hack and the priority shelf for current projects! 😍❤️
girl, i been doing DIY forever, having a father who was a carpenter and I never saw that tape hack! LOVE IT, need it... will use it ... best organizer video for my needs. picked up a few great ideas. Been doing mine similar, but ya still solved a few things so thanks! and your new area loos great and so functional...
Love the tape hack!👍👍 love that little good girl, with that Determination in her eyes.
You did a great job Dani. The room is indeed serene.
It turned out SO CUTE! I think my favorite part is the craft paper under the table. Out of the way but always ready to go. So smart! I'm usually using old newspaper for my messier crafts, haha.
Love your videos because they are so REAL! I have a room like that and I need to do it also. Thanks for consistently producing quality content.

Awesome video!! Awesome content! Awesome Art room!! Love it and am ready for a weekend of organizing my studio apartment 😁🙌❤️
You gave me a serious "she knows my secret shame" moment. I'm gonna go to my art space and start making some mental notes😂! Thanks for the inspo, Danie!
How about bringing a pencil and paper and making a hard copy of those notes! lol
I love the shelves! They so go with a workroom vibe!
Have you considered adding a paper towel holder as well to under your desk? I found it soooo helpful!
I love your art room so so much. It's a very cozy room and brings lots of inspiration ....... thanks for your sharing, Danie. ❤
Love the curtain rod/ craft paper hack! I have an overhang on the desk I built and now I know what I’m going to do with it!
Nice and so inspiring thank you!! My favorite part was the curtains very sweet and they bring so much natural light in!!
I have a big version of that light over my kitchen table! Seeing you use the same style just made me so happy since I love your style so much!!
OK! The kraft paper on the end of the table is *genius*!! I am for sure stealing that idea!! Love the whole space, btw!❤️
Can’t wait!!!! I’m very Obsessively fan of the Wizarding World 🧙🏻♂️💫✨
I have two favorites: the air plants in the little round globes on the wall, and the perfect way your shelving unit fit into the little enclosure on the side. I wish I had a craft room.....
So, so enjoyable to watch. Thanx for sharing, the space looks great and is a huge improvement.
All of it is great but the Kraft paper holder was genius!

Wow, you painted a room. How amazing!
It looks so good!! What an attractive, inspiring space now!
Danie the art room turned out great! Stylish and organized, who could ask for anything more? Love the desk and light fixture.
I love the way the space turned out!
Such an exciting result! The Ikea shelves etc are superb. I absolutely enjoyed your video Danie, as always! Your art work is a pleasure to see.
So satisfying to watch! Living vicariously thru u and wishing I could pitch my kids stuff and make a room for mine...instead if jamming everything into every nook and cranny I can find. Such a dreamy space,

Danie - your videos always make me smile! Love your positivity and DIY spirit! Keep 'em coming.
Also what is that gorgeous drink you're sipping??

Great ideas and affordable plus you made this project so much fun!! Thank you!
Oh that room looks sooo much better! I bet you feel lighter! Love the desk and shelves!

This is great! I love the desk tweaks you did! Your videos are great and you are always so cheerful and funny! Thanks for sharing 😄
Soooooo satisfying!!! Thank you, Dani!
I like trestle legs but they take up so much space. It is nice you have storage in yours. My favorite part is the craft paper roll.
Amazing transformation as usual. Love your sense of humor. Thanks for increasing your content over Covid19, it helps inspire the rest of us.
My office has become my storage area! I am so inspired! 💜 Sarah
