Everything looks great! It’s so reassuring that even someone who has developed some serious carpentry skills can still struggle with assembling out of the box furniture. 😀
My favorite was the extra long pencil cup….also loved the lighting behind the peg board. I wasn’t sure until I saw it all put together and now I love it. Thanks for all the creative ideas!
That look on your face when you were standing in the reorganized space...PRICELESS! That feeling in that moment is worth all the struggles to get there! It looks great in an authentic way - like it's FUNCTIONAL and not just pretty! Great job.
Oooooooo yeah that black wall with the blue light is a WHOLE MOOD. Love how you're able to make a space pretty even when it's supposed to be functional.
Love the super long caddy!! I put up a shelf a couple of months ago exclusively for my 6 caddies of supplies, and the amount that it's improved the overall organization is amazing! My caddies always ended up everywhere, or gathered together in an ugly lump, and having them elevated in a nice even row really helps.
Danie putting the wood shelf together had me in stitches, girl, I feel your pain, happens to me every time lol. Room looks great, what a difference the black wall makes, looks fantastic!
I have been waiting for my day off to watch this video since it was posted on Patreon. Yay it’s finally here!!! If I could thumbs up this video a bunch of times I would.
It looks amazing for 60%! It’s my 120%. Note to self: Never buy a shelving unit that Dani has to struggle with! I love the cubbies and the lights around the pegboard. You worked REALLY hard!🌸
I recently did a major re-organize/re-use of my work space and found brand new, unopened boxes of things that I had forgotten. I think I found enough stuff to pay for the stuff I bought to build the re-do. :) Really get it! Thanks.
I was making my coffee this morning and suddenly got excited when I remembered that it's DIY Danie Saturday. Then I had a moment where I secretly wished for a room makeover and the first one that came to mind was your creative space because that's my favorite room. Well, imagine my surprise, YES! First of all, it looks amazing. I'm not one to make suggestions on videos (sometimes they can come off as obnoxious) but here's my idea, I think maybe those shelves in the corner (the corner unit and the new one you just built) need more shelves. The shelves that are there now are SO far apart, causing you to stack cans and things to be buried and unseen. What do you think? This may not even be doable, but I thought I would mention it. 🧡🧡🧡
You're lucky to have that stool. When I was growing up in the 80s in New Zealand everyone had them (and had had them for many years) and then they all seemed to disappear in the last few decades. Now people are finding them and re-covering the seats and they've become a vintage goal item.
I think the lighting around the pegboard was an EXCELLENT decision! I was worried that black trim on a black wall on a black background would make it look too blended together but the lights really help add some definition to it without looking *harsh* like a white or brightly colored trim piece might have. Also that full length pencil cup? Genius, love it, wish I had one!!! Also also it is SO VALIDATING that even someone that can build some frankly pretty complex and amazing things struggles with crappy Pre-boxed furniture!!
As your friend you haven't met yet, I have to say, the sideways D is cool. But I can understand that your new artroom comes closer to your awesomeness now.
I can't believe what I just saw: you struggling with a shelf? Girl, I've been watching you for quite some years now and you have built amazing things from scratch. We're only human although you're pretty much a DIY goddess! Love your work!
i'm cracking up at the shelf build. It is totally how I would have struggled with putting it together. Wood skills and organization ... best video ever.
Looks fabulous! When I saw you paint over the light switch lady I was like "Nooooooo!" Then I was so happy when you drew her back in at the end! ❤💋 That shelf building montage was hilarious! If you struggled with it so much how would us ordinary mortals even have a chance of getting it together.😂 Cutting it down to fit with the IKEA unit was genius!👍🏾
You must have the most creative, artistic work room ever. Not sure why but I laughed so much when you tore that shelving unit apart after so much work putting it together the first time. Love you!
Nice update and reorganization. Just a thought- paint the inside of the cubby unit white that way you can see inside what items you put inside of the black cubby unit on the work table
Loled hard at “A week later I’m going through this and I’m like ohhhh I did have that color of stain” 😂😂 what sorcery is this stool?! So functional, SO COOL. At first I was like aw bye light switch lady lol I was so happy you drew her back on. It all turned out stellar! Love the black wall and Your cubby ideas are GENIUS. Sorry for the novel of a comment, so excited had to get it all in lol 😆😂
That dark walnut that was at the bottom of the Barrel... I scraped it to get that shelf stained then found another FULL CAN while sorting the stains onto the shelf 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
@@DIYDanie we just moved from our home of 44 years, full of the detritus of being cluttered people raising children and their dogs. Love the new backdrop! It looks so cohesive and fresh. I especially love this video because it's all about art room organization and I'm with you at the 60% finished. I feel like I'm constantly searching for ways to make my little craft nook more functional and organized. This has given me a lot of inspiration for my own space. Thanks Danie! 💕💕
Happy Saturday to me. Thanks, Dani, for the constant fun and informative videos every week. And to those who don't like clutter...oh well. I have 2 identical signs given to me from two very special people in my life(1 for my small sewing room and 1 for the repurposed craft table full of drawers in the basement for the rest of the non-sewing crafts I like to dabble in). It simply states..."creative minds are seldom tidy".....that says it all and gives permission to be messy at all the creative moments in my life in those two very special spaces in my home. Thanks Dani
You are one of the few TH-cam channels I follow that has practicality behind your designs. I thank you for that! Love the black wall and the extra (organized!) storage. I felt your pain with the thin drywall and no studs. Keep on creating!
Favorite part is refreshed backdrop and cubbies! Some times my DIY is just going through my supplies! I have a scrapbox unit that I just LOVE! Have a great week and keep on being a creative geek🤣
I love the black wall - it changes the whole space. The lights 😍 The long cubby thing is a dream! I would have never lasted as long as you did building that shelf! 😡🦆

Happy for you that your trim is finished!!! Enjoy the space.
Everything looks good, sure makes for a lot more organized storage. The back drop does look good! Suggestion, if I may: The spray paints, put all like colors together, noticed there's several cans of white, green, etc. Can keep the one cubby with just the metallic paints.
So weird! I did a mini last week and then your video posted... last night I finished paint my new office black and this video came out. TALK ABOUT SOUL SISTERS! HAHA 😄 YOUR THE BEST DANI!
Absolutely incredible. Love the blue backlighting on he pegboard. So many wonderful organizational features, but with so many creative and inspiring touches as well. Th only thing missing is maybe a peel and stick tattoo for Tami. :-)
Love the stained shelf and counter and the cubbies. One thing I would have done differently though would be to organize the stains and spray paints by colour
I was thinking of this. I save the small boxes that clementine come in. Have a label on the front and sort by "Red, brown, black, etc." Easier to move a small box with 4 stains in it then each single can !
I never knew the space was in disarray, but it does look so nice and organized now. I need you to come to my house and help me with my craft room!!! ♥️✌🏼
Absolutely LOVE the cubby for pens, paintbrushes etc! I have multiple containers and they’re everywhere. Moved from where I had a 70% functional studio. Now I’m in a basement, but it’s got carpet and I can’t get to stuff easily. Drives me crazy!!!! Also left my pegboards behind for the new owner. She crafts. 😭
OMG thank god you didn’t change your pegboard!!! I was so afraid you were going to Paint it blank. It is my most favorite thing you’ve ever done and I’m so jealous I don’t have it. Love what you did with everything!! Cracked me up that you only painted part of the ceiling!!!😳🤣🤣
Okay...I watshed it twice now...I have some ideas...1. What about a wine rack (a metal thingy where the bottle lay on) for your spray paints. So there are laying seperatly and you got them esier out. 2. What if you turn the container (what did not fit before the window) with the flat side (no on the wall) to line up with the bathroom door so create a section and maybe one more worktable when you ad some hight (a little shelf)and a countertopy thing maybe even with roles. And the back side can be painted black, too 3. Glue some magnets on front of the (I dont know the right word) pencil holder thing so sisers can hold on there or paperclips or kind of. I like the black wall so much more. 👍the light is outstanding. Great
I love watching your videos so so much. Every week you just completely kick a$$ struggles and all. It actually makes me proud watching you fix everything and make it beautiful time after time. You are one of my favorite TH-cam creators for a reason. You are the just the coolest.
I looove this. The mural looks sooo much better now. Love the led lights. Also your positivity in this video is infectious. Even when struggling with that shelf build.
Danie, thanks for yet another fun, creative and inspiring DIY video. Love your content. I have a suggestion for making your stains more visible on the new shelf. Try using a bunch of 3-tier shelves or lazy susans, which are used in the kitchen for canned goods and spices. These are also available at dollar stores.
It looks amazing as always. I loved how you adjusted when things didn't work out and you found new solution. I look forward to Saturday mornings with you and my coffee.
Yes, I want to tackle my home office/spare bedroom/ reading nook and where paperwork goes to die!!!! Now what do I do? You are inspiring and the creative space is a continued work in progress fulfilling your ever changing need.
So many useful ideas and inspirations! I especially love the organizer on your workbench and the spray paint organizer. Plus seeing how simply that frustrating shelf unit is built has given me ideas.... 😉 Thank you!
What a great makeover - love the lights, exactly what was needed there! What about putting a little wedge under the long organizer cubby that will tilt all the cubby holes a bit towards you?
My though was to paint the four cubby box white so it disappeared into the white wall like the long black cubby. The paint lids would pop like an art installation. Great builds!
Maybe you could build something like a wine bottle holder that could be inserted in your wall shelf to hold each spray paint can. That way you can the lowest spray paint can without the pile collapsing on you. You obviously would lose a bit of real estate as fewer cans would fit into one cupboard, but I imagine it would be so much more functional
I feel so validated that Dani, someone who actually makes her own furniture, also struggled assembling boxed furniture. ❤️
Boxed furniture is the freaking worst sometimes haha
Thanks for re-drawing the light switch lady, I was kind of heartbroken when she got painted over LOL ❤️❤️
SHE WILL ALWAYS LIVE IN MY STUDIO! FOREVER! haha
As long as both switches aren't down at the same time, on camera. I could never unsee it!
Everything looks great! It’s so reassuring that even someone who has developed some serious carpentry skills can still struggle with assembling out of the box furniture. 😀

Going through our clutter before our move, I found many unopened packages of colored and black pens (the good kind). I’ll never need to buy any again!
Great refresh! Had ti laugh at your new step stool-parents had similar one and it served well for many years
Definitely something from another era. Sadly, it went out of style despite its utility.

I'm just so glad you repainted the light-switch lady! I got scared when you painted over her 😅
What a great makeover - love the lights, exactly what was needed there!
What about putting a little wedge under the long organizer cubby that will tilt all the cubby holes a bit towards you?
My though was to paint the four cubby box white so it disappeared into the white wall like the long black cubby. The paint lids would pop like an art installation. Great builds!
Everything looks so much cleaner! Love the wide angle. Excited for more content with the freshened back drop !
Making your space work for you will improve the work you do! Looks fantastic 👏 👌 👍 😀
Haha I am still enjoying the pic of your old stool 😂 girl you did a fantastic job!
Ugh I'm trying to figure my space out blah
Oooh, love the spray paint shelf - a french cleat would have been a cool way to hang it - so you wouldn't need the bracket.
Hi Dani, Just to let you know that I watch your video every saturday, that's how I start my day.. You are so .. creative ... love ya
Sooooooo happy the pegboard is staying. Love it. // That first caddy you showed - I use one for my crochet hooks.
