Thank you Mike. Our parrish just started (back) the Staurday vigil, and that means the choir is back also. Though I am happy I get to sing, more so, "joyful" to sing for our Lord God -Amen. I am also sharing your site with other choir members. God Bless
Fantastic video, Mike! I give you 200%! The tips you gave are very valuable! I have a couple of really small comments: it'd be good if you could repeat the refrain; when training it is always a good idea so that one does not "by accident" jump into the verse when the congregation is repeating it the first time in the actual situation (this almost happened to me in a mass). When the director (you) plays the initial chord for a verse or a verse line, it is nicer if the cantor right away sings simultaneously, rather than following it. In the "karaoke" version, if you add an extremely small pause after the refrain, the cantor is then ready to sing righty away, rather than first waiting for that chord. More generally, the karaoke version could be played more slowly. That way one can be ready to apply your tip---think of someone or something that encompasses the spirit of the words. Thank you again!! And all of the above verbiage does not change in the least that you did a superb job!!
@@MusicMinistry101 Doing all that, thanks. Stupidly tried to sing the first hymn on Sunday. The organist sang the rest of the Mass. Hope it comes back soon. I have a funeral and Mass. How long does it usually take?
@@verak66 I'd suggest resting your voice for a couple of days if you can. Don't push on your voice too much. Maybe do lighter singing instead. Avoid night clubs :)
@@MusicMinistry101 Ha ha. Night clubs. I'm just home and staying silent. I have Mass on Sunday and a funeral on Monday. Praying nothing before then. Thank you!
Hi Mike! They graduated me to start singing Resp. psalms! I’m honored and super scared but with your teachings hopefully I overcome it!
You got this!

Thanks
