This video is so sad. Very typical south vietnamese. She is so considerate that, she doesnt want to burden you with her sadness. Saying good bye with a smile and holding in her tears. Grandma is quite poor, brcause she has never ridden in a car before, doesnt have glasses her for degrading eyes but she would give you all the food that she has, even when shes not making much from the shop. That's vietnamese hospitality.
I got teary eyes when grandma said she cried so much because everyone of her family left her😢. God bless you, Chris, for being kind and gentle to grandma. Grandma loves and treats you like family because your kindness and warmth resonates with her. Grandma is a very strong and brave woman and you're simply amazing with your excellent command of spoken Vietnamese. She was very nice and professional, however the stores that offer a free exam often charge a higher price for the glasses to cover the price of the "free" service. Often it's better to go to a cheap place like this to learn your prescription(get them to write it down), then go elsewhere and shop around to buy the actual glasses, it can save a small fortune. That's what my grandfather and father always did, saved them hundreds every time(In Australia).
She doesn't realize we travel just to spend time with people like her... Next year Granny we’re coming back and Chris-I'll cover your meal too. When she shared that she’d cried so much over losing family that it affected her eyesight... really hit home.
I moved in with my Grandmother so she could enjoy her final years being waited upon hand and foot! I couldn't imagine leaving someone so precious. She left us last October aged 96. It was an honour and a privilege to look after her.

I haven't finish watching the full video yet, but I have watched a few video's with grandma in it and she seems one of the true hearted, pure heart giving people I have seen in a long while. It's unfortunate her business is not busier and I worry regarding her health and sight. I can tell she is a fiesty gal but with that in mind have you ever thought about starting a fund me account for her. After watching just a few video's I fell in love with her uplifting spirit and think this would help her business and so she can afford health care and finer things she deserves at her age and being stubborn as she seems can start an account where money is automatically put in account. All u do is give her the account and info and let her find out how much she has in it once she can give bank book back. With the exchange rate and all she might end up being richess grandma in Vietnam lol.. I WISH her and you both long life and health

I think youtube has only ever served me your grandma videos. They always manage to come at a time when I need them. I never got to know my grandmas so this is so sweet. I am glad you are helping her and if I ever find myself in Vietnam I will visit.
Hey Chris, it's sad to see that you leave Vietnam because your Videos always bring joy to me, I started watching your Videos while I had Anxiety and it always made me stop thinking about the bad things that happened. I haven't finish watching the full video yet, but I have watched a few video's with grandma in it and she seems one of the true hearted, pure heart giving people I have seen in a long while. It's unfortunate her business is not busier and I worry regarding her health and sight. I can tell she is a fiesty gal but with that in mind have you ever thought about starting a fund me account for her. After watching just a few video's I fell in love with her uplifting spirit and think this would help her business and so she can afford health care and finer things she deserves at her age and being stubborn as she seems can start an account where money is automatically put in account. All u do is give her the account and info and let her find out how much she has in it once she can give bank book back. With the exchange rate and all she might end up being richess grandma in Vietnam lol.. I WISH her and you both long life and health

Your video came up on my feed and I had to watch it! How thoughtful and caring you are for making sure she could get an eye exam and glasses. I don't think many pple would but having read your bio, you look like you have fully embraced the East Asian & South East Asian understanding that when we feed you, it's our way of showing love and appreciation.
