    Very interesting and informative.
    When coming to a new country, you have a blank canvas which presents an opportunity to paint it the way you want. It will take time and patience. A switch to a different field or career can open up many opportunities that one may have never considered.
    For example: My brother in law was an Army officer, then went to oil and gas corporate training in the Middle East, and now works in indigenous education in Canada.
