I'd be interested in just a 22mm, since that's for Ram, Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Acadia, Camaro, Grand Cherokee, Durango, JL Wrangler, Challenger, Charger, 300, Wagoneer, and so on. It's probably one of the most common to be honest. Yet that always seems to be missing from these lug nut socket sets.
Chicago Pneumatic makes a set of Non Marring lug nuts(SS4211WP) that has a plastic insert that fits inside the socket to handle that "starting a lug nut problem" at 1:25. And the CP set is a 11 piece set that includes all the sizes Milwaukee only sells separately.
On the acorn nuts, can you drop a second one behind in the socket as a temporary spacer to start them, them go back with to it removed to tighten? I don't know if it is deep enough.
I could be wrong, but I believe when I looked these up a few months ago there is a 22mm available, they just opt to put a 7/8 in this kit. I think the 22mm only comes separate
They not only have a 22mm but also have a 23mm in their non marring line. Part numbers 49-66-7807 and 49-66-7808. On the SAE side of things they go up to 1-1/16".
I'm 1 of those obsessives. i refuse to own a 7/8. O'Reilies sell them too. bought some to back up my matcos. I liked them much better i use them on every wheel i touch. retired the matco to the toolbox as backups
Snapon released a deep lug socket not too long ago but not a non-maring one. Me, I use my 3/8 14.4 impact with shallow impact socket to thread them on and don't allow the hammers to engage, then I use the normal lug setup. Never crossed one yet, I don't put pressure on it, I let the thread pull it in.
I bought the Koken Japan wheel nut sockets. They’re excellent. Thin wall and replaceable plastic. The Koken goes all the way in.

Ok, I have seen kits with the plastic insert included, but I did not know what it was for. Thanks.
I wrap electrical tape around my impact sockets for wheel lugs, not perfect but good enough!
I start every lug by hand - almost eliminates the possibility of stripping.

I do that on Nissan's, then its only the last one that gives me trouble.

What I want is a lug nut socket that does not do damage to the lug nuts. The chrome always gets damaged in the corners .
Thanks Mike.
Thanks for the showcase dad
I always end up taking the plastic off these types of sockets
That's a sweet set 👍🏽

How did these hold up?
Any half sizes available?
If they are not flip. I don't want them.
Flip is a must.
For chevy mechanic, no 22mm = no go 😭😂
They have a 22mm in the larger set
Good video. Thank you for information
Waiting for the comment saying 19 and 3/4 aren't exactly the same

I didn't think your nuts swell in Georgia?
Them's some thick girls.
