I think no lounge is ok, if you’re already paying less with no points or anything like that for a LIE FLAT SEAT, I think it cancels out the “no lounge access”. Great video Jeb and Suzanne!
Yeah, can make your own lounge at home with the money youre saving, get a nice wine and some good food and home is way more comfy anyway. A lounge is only useful if you're connecting flights or just want to get to the airport real early imo.
Absolutely. The lie flat seat is everything, especially if you are flying TO Europe, which is usually a redeye. With my various credit cards, I can almost always find lounge access. But finding an affordable lie flat seat is key.
@@jeffreytravels It really is one of the best, if not the best, European airports and it does rival the one in Singapore. I don't like airports in general but Schiphol is my only exception. Keep up the great work!
With rumors of delta and other airlines “unbundling” business class, I think JetBlue is making a good decision with no lounge access. It lowers prices which is one of their main selling points.
There is no shortage of vendors selling alcohol in any airport I have ever been to . Terrible idea to get drunk before boarding a plane. No lounge for me.
Unbundling? They already have. United at SFO you have to be in Polaris international flight or Newark first class to get in for free. I was very disappointed when I had 1st class to Vegas a few years ago and could get in
@@JediTevYou can only get access to a United Polaris lounge if you’re flying Polaris class in a long haul, international flight. There’s no mechanism to pay to use the lounge. Access can also be had by passengers in business on a long-haul international Star Alliance carrier. Everyone talks about Delta 1 or the United Polaris Business class seats, but this deserves some more love. Hugely underrated seat, and as always, stunning views
Two thoughts: First, the little snippets at the end, awesome. Lounge? Don't care, rather walk around the airport before sitting for 8-20 hours (I have traveled quite a bit). It's all about inflight for me. Love you guys, keep up the good work! OH, and flying Mint to London and back from Paris in a few months! Can't wait!
Not having a lounge in such an interesting international airport is no big deal. There is so much to see and do that even with hours to kill it’s hard to get bored. For that price there is no question.
As you experienced, most mainstream lounges these days are so crowded that they're not really worth it. Unless it's one of the luxury lounges from like the Middle Eastern airlines, with a la carte food and table service and such, I'd gladly skip it if it meant a noticeably cheaper ticket. I'd honestly skip most of the perks on the plane, too. For the most part, I'm just paying for the larger seat, not free booze and free checked bags that I don't even use anyway.

As a former airline employee (both sides of the Atlantic) I got spoilt traveling Business and First long haul as a pass rider. I love the option of choosing the meal on the plane. I don’t know how I’d feel about that long a trip on a single aisle aircraft, since I’ve never done it before. Your seat did look a bit tight to me. A lounge for me is just an added frill, unless you have a serious wait time or a delay. A British expat watching in Florida.
I’ve seen economy/coach fares on domestic flights of much shorter duration between two crew bases for not much less, especially considering the price Jeb and Suzanne paid included an onward connection.
I do not have a positive opinion of any airline. Except for jet blue, they really are different. I once had a 3 hour delay flying to the Bahamas, and not only did a wonderful staff member spend those three hours calmly explaining the situation, the solution they had, and doing so with a smile, but they also brought us waters/sodas, and even a sandwich. I was in economy, I wouldn’t have gotten a sandwich if everything had gone well. That’s the only delay/issue I’ve ever had with them, and they went above and beyond to make things right. It’s a great company, support and fly them when you can.
The lounge is a very nice part of a ticket. A quiet bathroom and the ability to shower before going to meetings after landing is a big part of why business travelers like lounges.
Showers on arrival after a long distance flight are the best! I don't care much for a lounge but every airport with (affordable) showers is a big plus!
I started visiting the Schiphol "sky Deck" back in the mid 1970's. The airport was a fraction of the size then then it is today. My dad flew for business often and with one car in the family (very typical for Dutch families back then), we'd be there to pick him up after his mulli-week business trips. A visit to the Sky Deck was a great way to kill time and the excitement of seeing the airplanes come and go. With my dad working for Fokker, I grew up around aircraft. We could see the factory on the far side of the airport. Great memories. I also remember when they added the train station opposite the arrival hall, in what was formerly the parking lot. Then in the 1990's they extended the arrival hall to completely cover the train station so it's now integral with the airport.
I was thinking many business class travelers have access to lounges through their credit card so I think it fine that Jet Blue doesn't. You are right; seat design can be improved upon but overall a wonderful experience for the money.
My thoughts exactly. Plus even if you don't many airports you can pay for lounger access for around 50 Euros or so, considering how much cheaper the ticket is, it's well worth it.

We flew JetBlue Mint from Boston to London earlier this year, and agree with most of your comments. The only real issue was that the food ordering system on board crashed TWICE before any service, so it might just as well have not existed! For us, the small seat size (compared to business flights on other carriers) is a killer - we both needed more space than was available in the lie-flat - and the larger suites weren't on that plane unfortunately.
Hi Jeb and Suzanne: I love your channel and watch it all the time! I know this comment is a little out of date for this particular video but my wife and I just flew JetBlue Mint from Boston to Paris and then back again, all within a week (to go to a wedding in the south of France). It was a very good experience and flights in both directions. Flying "Mint" is definitely a major step up from being cramped in coach (and obviously quite a bit more expensive too). I love the "pod" that you get in Mint with almost total privacy, once you close the aisle door. I'm 6'2" and had just enough room to lie completely flat, although the pod is relatively narrow. We flew overnight from Boston to Paris (leaving Boston around 8:15 PM and arriving in Paris at 9:15 AM (Paris time), so I was able to get some sleep (and I usually don't sleep well on planes). We were served dinner going over and lunch coming back (daytime flight on the return trip from Paris). The food was very good and quite filling (excellent desserts!) and free drinks are always a nice perk. The service was excellent and the entertainment system and large screen monitor were both very good. All in all, a nice way to take the trip across the Atlantic!
I flew from SLC to London and back in jetBlue's Core seats. I'm glad I changed my flights to depart from Heathrow since the LGW-BOS flights didn't serve hot food in Core. However, it was extremely comfortable and seamless. The ability to choose meals is amazing, and the crews were fantastic. Would do it again! I don't necessarily care about lounge access unless I know it's going to be good.
Great video. We flew from DC to Paris last May on jetBlue’s mint and had a great experience. We had a 3hr layover in Boston and stayed in the Chase Sapphire lounge. In my opinion, no jetBlue lounge access to offset the ticket prices is a relief. It also helps when you have access to other lounges.
LOL! I TRIED to watch one of his videos. Easy to write about gripes ; more of an effort to show pluses and things to look out for. Doesn't hurt that Suzanne and Jeb have good on camera chemistry!
I find incredible how grateful you both are to have the chance to live this flying dream. Most people are not like this, understanding of the fact this is a privilege many others do not have.
Jet Blue has become one of my favorite airlines. The crews are happy to work for Jet Blue which makes a difference. I would not mind not having lounge access in a large airport. Plenty of lounges you can get access to with a credit card access. Large airports have some great restaurant too! Thanks Jeb and Suzanne for another great review!
I don't see a lack of lounge access as a problem at all. I think the lack of lounge access is more of a problem for people who have come to expect a lounge as an essential part of their travel experience and who, probably, can more easily afford to live life a little more luxuriously. JetBlue's offer of a business class experience at a cheaper price appeals to people like me who are in the lower middle class and for whom this kind of experience would be nothing less than an indulgence. Thanks for sharing your experience Jeb and Suzanne. It definitely is useful information given in an entertaining way.
I have flown JetBlue Mint, and I don't miss lounge access a bit. Airport lounges have become terribly overcrowded, and remember there's no such thing as a free lunch. Fighting crowds in airport lounges just to eat substandard food is not my cup of tea. As you found on this flight, JetBlue's Mint meal service is excellent. So for me, getting on the plane with an appetite to enjoy their good food is a bonus.
As an ex-pat Brit living in Australia, I've done LONG haul back and forth many times in eco class. Let me tell you, 5 hours into a 13 hour flight in cattle class, you would sell your frickin soul for a lie-flat seat - or even just a 45o reclining one. I don't care about a lounge, special meal service, concierges, butlers, fancy booze... any of that. Just give me the lovely flat seat!
I was in Amsterdam earlier this month and decided to swing by the Panorama Terrace as part of my trip. I'm so glad it was highlighted here because it's such a good call for plane spotting! There's also a nice restaurant area up there too if you're looking for a bite to eat. Loved this video!
Solid review!! So tempted to try this product. Now that Jet Blue has announced a Lounge concept for JFK and BOS for Mint since this video posting it will intriguing to see what they come up with.
I enjoyed the video very much. What made it even more interesting for me, was that I was on board the QM2 and watched the aircraft flying into land over the ship. I also enjoyed your QM2 video a few weeks ago.
Travel day is so hectic, I try to minimize as much as possible the time at the airport - so for me, a lounge is not a big deal. If it meant a lower fare because of the lack of a lounge, count me in!!!!! Great video (as they always are)!
I flew JetBlue Mint LAX -> JFK last year on my birthday. In the alternating 2-2/1-1 configured A321. Had a truly excellent crew, received a happy birthday, good food, and got some much needed sleep. I don’t care too much for lounge access, priority pass covers that to an extent, and Mint is otherwise an excellent business class product. Even if the 2-2/1-1 configuration is showing its age.
I flew on Mint from Gatwick to Boston in June and it was amazing, so I was SUPER nervous for the Jeb Score. Happy to see you enjoyed your experience too - it makes me want to fly JetBlue again!
Great video as always, Jeb. For me, lounge or no lounge isn’t a deal breaker. And of course, my perennial response to your tagline “and you’re coming along” is “I’d love to!”
I really, really enjoy the both of you. I don't think many couples get to be very successful on TH-cam but you are very special and your content is now even better together with Suzanne. Always enjoyable. Thank you.
That Lounge Question is good one! With more and more Airlines unbundling Lounge Access in their Fares is interesting! Back in the day to get into a Lounge, one had to fly in First or Business Class and be given an invite by that Airline - QF had The Captains Club this all before Loyalty Programs!! My Personal preference is if I am paying for a Business Class fare I expect Lounge Access. The Irony of my comment is the Airline I work for doesn't offer a Lounge Proposition on what I would call our Flagship International Route CNS/HND which is discontinuing in February next year. Jeb and Suzanne Keep up the Great Work!! Love You both and your frankly honest videos!!
First let me say I'm shocked that it was raining in the Netherlands! I like a lounge - last year in AMS our return to BOS was delayed 6 hours on a Delta flight but only found out after getting to the airport. I grabbed an hour nap , which I needed , some food from a great selection but the single most important thing was first we were promptly directed to a KLM staff member who got us on the next flight out making the 6 hours into 4 , magic - no lines and a very quick , "you're on the next flight to BOS"
Hi Jeb and Suzanne, thank you for this latest review. In terms of your lounge question, being an Australian, you know that to get to Europe we have a choice of Singapore, Dubai or Doha. Those first 8 or 12 hours enable a clear break and with lounge access, a shower is great to face the next 12/14 hours. Flying across, the Atlantic, the 6/7 hours mean that you are at a probable destination and the need for a shower is less evident, the Jet Blue option is one I would exercise with alacrity and faced with large queue to get into a crowded lounge, I would do what you guys did: skip it. I think, the relatively low score for this service due to lack of a lounge was perhaps a bit severe with apparent good food, OK seats, service and a splendid cost. When are you guys coming back to Australia, let us know and we will organise a get together with know reviewers and hordes of your aviation fans ( plus drinks)
We flew round trip Boston to Dublin last summer on Mint. We're hard-core first class travelers if the flight is longer than two hours. The westbound trip is always fine, no matter what airline, but the eastbound trip is brutal, the older I get. British Airways is probably the best, but very pricy. Virgin is pretty good, though on the eastbound flight, for a good price. And, they have a really nice first-class lounge at the departure airports.
Love the surprise QM2 cameo. We live in Winston-Salem and took the QM2 from NYC to Southampton last summer. I enjoy your channel, and thanks for the QM2 surprise at the end of this video!
Thank you two for sharing a great flight. I keep hearing JetBlue is very nice to flying to and from Europe now with the Mint Service Class. You two are right about a lounge access for both sides if the Atlantic. Having Priority Pass helps me as well.
Thanks for another flight excellent flight review. Jet Blue is able to offer great fares and excellent onboard service due to the fact they don't operate a lounge.
All that food looked so good and being able to choose what you want from your seat is a very good option rather than pre ordering when you purchase your tickets
New Jeb video! As always, you and Susan do a great job with being objective with your reviews! As for the lounge, I've never flown international (want to someday) so I've never used a lounge. The longest time I've spent in an airport was 5.5 hours (O'Hare) and I was able to walk around to see the cool stuff there and find some good seats to use my computer when needed. For me, I don't need a lounge because I enjoy walking around airports to stretch my legs and see what there is, but that's not to say I wouldn't ever use one if I had the opportunity. Maybe one day!
I'd say lounge access is more important when you have a few hours during a stopover when it is nice to relax, maybe shower, charge your devices and get some work done from them. From your departing airport, especially one with plenty of restaurants and cafes like Schiphol, they are less crucial. The food/coffee is better in them than in most lounges anyway.
Flew Mint for the very first time in April from BOS to SFO, and it was great! Such a fun experience, especially when traveling domestic. We also were able to book for slightly less than your flights, so for those thinking about it, I strongly recommend.
I remember flying JetBlue many years ago on a red eye between SFO and JFK. Even though it was an economy seat, I can't shake a positive feeling about the experience overall.
I agree with Susanne regarding the activity and noise around her seat. My wife and I booked both the Mint suites in row 1. On a flight from Boston to Gatwick. It’s very noisy at the front we wouldn’t book it again.
Great video. Having a lounge is insignificant most times. The way air travel is during the summer, I’m looking to minimize the hassles and get from security to the gate. As a long time investor in JetBlue, I hope we are able to maintain the international routes that are established. The airline industry is very challenging at the moment.
I flew mint from New York to London in June. While I missed having lounge access, I appreciate the cost savings even more. I agree that the food offerings were creative and of a good quality. We will certainly fly again.
Don’t need a pre-boarding lounge as long as I know I’m headed for First Class when I board. A lounge is a must if I’m connecting at a hub. RIP, Northwest WorldClubs & WorldPerks. Thanks for making the ‘90s & 2000s so comfortable.
Great video! Thanks for making the menus clear and the food visuals excellent. I would never have thought of JetBlue for transatlantic until this video. Thanks.
flew JetBlue BOS to LGW this past Dec. 2023, A-321neo had no ovens, nothing beats spending $700-ish for a transatlantic overnight flight like a cold chicken salad wrap and the return was some kind of cold cauliflower dish that I didn't touch. I've opted for another carrier this upcoming trip.

When your flight is delayed for over 3 hours, a lounge is a lifesaver
I have flown JetBlue Mint, and I don't miss lounge access a bit. Airport lounges have become terribly overcrowded, and remember there's no such thing as a free lunch. Fighting crowds in airport lounges just to eat substandard food is not my cup of tea. As you found on this flight, JetBlue's Mint meal service is excellent. So for me, getting on the plane with an appetite to enjoy their good food is a bonus.
Jeb!! Please do Southwest vs. Breeze vs. JetBlue (Economy) vs. SunCountry! I loved your ULCC video. PLEASE do a LCC comparison!!
Am I the only one who gets to the airport 3 hours early so I can chill, have a couple cocktails and eat and shop?
Yes.
@@LocutusLOL, nobody has stepped in to refute. Can’t say I can relate to OP on that one, either. Definitely unusual, but more power to you.
I was in Amsterdam earlier this month and decided to swing by the Panorama Terrace as part of my trip. I'm so glad it was highlighted here because it's such a good call for plane spotting! There's also a nice restaurant area up there too if you're looking for a bite to eat. Loved this video!
2:30 Hey! That’s my name too!
Wow jet blue with a very good score! Suzanne's suite looked awesome. Loved the name on the plane lol
I have priority pass so no lounge is no problem I’ll just use that instead 3:11
Solid review!! So tempted to try this product. Now that Jet Blue has announced a Lounge concept for JFK and BOS for Mint since this video posting it will intriguing to see what they come up with.
Great video, thanks for the information!
Great video and commentary my friend! Good vibrations through the video can tell how joyful you were!
Hello from Singapore 🇸🇬 ❤
I flew on the exact same aircraft from JFK to AMS pretty recently. I loved the economy class product too! Great video!
Great JetBlue video
Can we talk about how amazing of a couple Jeb and Suzzane are!
Dinner together in the Mint Studio was adorable!
Suzanne is so cute! She's a keeper Jeb!
Love the video!!!
I enjoyed the video very much. What made it even more interesting for me, was that I was on board the QM2 and watched the aircraft flying into land over the ship. I also enjoyed your QM2 video a few weeks ago.
Small world, that’s an amazing story! Hope you had a wonderful voyage on QM2, she’s something, isn’t she?
@@GreenerGrass She's very special!
Good form by Jeb giving Suzanne the big seat!
I flew on Mint from Gatwick to Boston in June and it was amazing, so I was SUPER nervous for the Jeb Score. Happy to see you enjoyed your experience too - it makes me want to fly JetBlue again!
Us too!!
I think it is great they don't have a lounge because I never need one!! Thanks for the awesome vids!
So glad that your channel is getting close to the 1 million mark! Keep up the great work guys. Love your content!
I flew Amsterdam to Boston on Jet Blue and LOVED it. It was such a breath of fresh air.
i love that you posted this video! you’re one of my favorite youtubers and i booked a flight for jet blue mint in 3 weeks! thanks!
Flying across, the Atlantic, the 6/7 hours mean that
you are at a probable destination and the need for a shower is less evident, the Jet Blue option is one I would exercise with alacrity and faced with large queue to get into a crowded lounge, I would do what you guys did: skip it.
Thanks,,,living in the Netherlands....lookin for flights to the US. Jetblue came across. Seeing this will change our minds.
You make the most accessible of all the aspirational flight reviews. A pleasure to watch!
Thanks for another flight excellent flight review.
Jet Blue is able to offer great fares and excellent onboard service due to the fact they don't operate a lounge.
All that food looked so good and being able to choose what you want from your seat is a very good option rather than pre ordering when you purchase your tickets
What a sublime video offering the surreal view of aircrafts in the tarmac and plush services on a Jetblue transatlantic route!
I have both the Chase Saphire Reserve and the Capital One Venture X so lounge access is not a problem
Thanks for mentioning the terrace. It was a great place to visit before my return trip to Atlanta!
I ❤ the Jetblue transatlantic service. And I hear there's a lounge for Mint customers under construction in their JFK terminal.
This looks like an amazing way to cross the pond! Great seat, service and yummy food
I love the lounges but like many folks I have priority and amex lounges so I would be happy with cheaper lay flat
RE: JetBlue & no lounges, i'm ok with their company policy on that one, you got a really good deal from JetBlue there., a win win i reckon✈👍
I agree with Susanne regarding the activity and noise around her seat. My wife and I booked both the Mint suites in row 1. On a flight from Boston to Gatwick. It’s very noisy at the front we wouldn’t book it again.
It’s always makes my day when Jeb brooks posts aviation content!
I never thought airline food could look so good! I would definitely get the studio. More spacious.
Great video. Having a lounge is insignificant most times. The way air travel is during the summer, I’m looking to minimize the hassles and get from security to the gate. As a long time investor in JetBlue, I hope we are able to maintain the international routes that are established. The airline industry is very challenging at the moment.
I literally just did this exact route a week ago and it was absolutely the best flight my family had been on.
You guys are so
