I'm American and I would NEVER fly AA. I've flown Delta a few times. Who partnered with Alitalia. I've been in their first class and "majestic class" both were very nice. Food was around a 7/8 and customer service was a 10. "Majestic class" seat was average size. But very comfortable I would definitely send AA a complaint via customer service. There should be a card that they give you to contact them. PS. Majestic class food was amazing. In general delta has pretty decent food . Majestic class was done by a Michelin star chef and had multiple courses. Everything tasted amazing. I'm not sure how Alitalia is now. But I can say I have never had a bad experience on Delta or Alitalia.

Travel tip- Whenever I fly One World into the USA I always fly the international carrier (Qatar, JAL, etc) to as close as possible to my final destination. This minimizes the time spent on AA inside the USA .
Oh man this video is so hilariously accurate to america. First the used amenities then the duct tape sink and the clam chowder that was just tomato soup and the flaccid cheesecake. You can feel the disappointment through the screen. This video is amazing.
I flew American In business class many years ago from China to Chicago. After arriving in Chicago, I went to the Admirals lounge and the only thing they had to eat were pretzels and other loose snacks in giant plastic bowls. I have NOT flown American since.

Yeah...your "girl" was looking a lot better back when I went there to capture Victini. Sorry the AA flight was kinda "EH" compared to other first class experiences. (Dear Gaia...the duct tape in the restroom...) If you ever come to Minneapolis, fly Delta. They are probably going to be a lot better. (Also, if you do come to Minneapolis, I can recommend a couple of good foodie places as well.) Also...props for folding your pizza like a true New Yorker.

And without even searching I was in SF getting ready to fly AA. But - I’d forgotten to prep …. NOOO I have to get something to eat. I can’t get through a Solo video without joining in the eatery. PAUSED VIDEO … rustled up a video inspired snack - scrambled eggs and mashed avocado 🥑on olive rolls with mayo and onions from my allotment. You see Solo taught me last winter how to better appreciate my food. To pay attention to what was on my plate. I wasn’t even going to eat this evening - too hot 🥵 ☀️ couldn’t be bothered 😮💨 - Thank you Solo for reminding me to eat with friends Until next 🕰️ 🙌🏼🙏🏻😊
Funny... I am right now sitting in First Class on AA from JFK to LAX. I got upgraded from Business. The seats are showing a lot of wear and tear... the power outlet won't hold my Mac charger, so I'm propping it up with a water bottle, and water drops are coming from the air conditioning system above my seat which is not a good mix with a computer. The food was decent but that's by AA standards. I know they are waiting for those new Airbus with new Flagship seating. I hope they speed that along as first class right now isn't worth the premium. I am EP and Million Miler with them so know this airline all too well.

Please try United Airlines instead from SFO to EWR. They frequently used big plane ( B777 or B787) and their business class is like the ones used for international flights
NYC is only ever a nice experience during Christmas time, with all the decorations, and snow, if youre lucky. And even then I would avoid the subways like the plague.

I know what it is to have a long distance relationship. Been there ... done that. The heart doesn't see the distance and the love can be stronger than anything else. I've done it for 8 years being away from my lover. Seeing each other once or twice a year. It was so tough ! I was suppose to move to the States (I'm Canadian) but he decided to move here. We've been together for 23 years and we're going to celebrate our 13th year wedding anniversary in October. Sometimes it's worth to wait even though it's very hard to not be with your loved one. I'm NOT surprised about your flight with American Airlines. The food didn't look very appetizing. It looked better than the Greyhound buses I took many many times to go visit my boyfriend (now husband). In the last years of my traveling, I decided to take the plane. It was almost a 24 hour drive with the bus or be there on the same day with the plane. The choice was easy. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you with sharing them with us. Great flight. Your experience on this flight is mind-blowing. First thing came in my mind about US Domestic First class is like classic Business Class with 2-2 seating plan. Overall great experience in NY.
dang that 321 has seen better days, all things considered especially including the fact that the cost of this flight was what business class costs normally, it seems not too unreasonable
What a terrible first-class seat. Badly designed seat, narrow footwell, defective arm rest, rubbish and damaged amenity kit, out of stock food, and small video screen. I hate to think what their business class is like. Asian and mid Eastern airlines provide better quality seats, food, and service than any American airline. It's pathetic.
The last time I flew American Airlines first class it was to Jamaica. The outbound flight was fine, but the return flight we had no food because the domestic food service did not deliver anything to the plane before they left the US. So the people on that flight also had no food. The flight attendants were so annoyed that they gave everyone a hand written card with the name and email for the VP of catering. Glad your experience was better!

I just flew American 1st class from Dallas to Vegas. Let me tell you … that was business class !! I’ve flown 1st class many times but my seat was NOTHING like what you showed here. I’ll NEVER spend the extra money to fly 1st class ever again.

For a disappointing first class, try Southwest. 25th anniversary, spent the points to fly 1st class to and from NY. First class on SW means a 2/1 split for seating, a box lunch and pay for your drinks, with seats and leg room a whopping 2% more than coach. Coming home, decided to go crazy and have a beer, but weather shut down drink service. You owe me a beer, SW.
I had once american airlines flight, all personnel are old balding men, TV is 14" CRT screen mounted on the ceiling, plane feels it's gonna drop soon or at least the CRT tvs, and movies selection for action movies were: "Harry Potter 6 in German"
As an American, I hope you're impressed by our service, hospitality, and food. $1500 seems reasonable for business/first class from coast to coast, although that's much more than I can afford. New York has one of the best metro system in the world.
Not having the full menu was calculated. I would have wanted the chicken myself. I've been on similar flights and the full menu was available for first class. I am sad your choices were limited.
I don't know what I expected from a 1st class airline seat, but it was much more than this =/ I assumed you'd at least be able to stretch your legs out properly. I had more luxury in economy on my flight to Florida earlier this year. Less than 1/3 of the plane was booked so I got a whole row to myself, lifted all the arm rests up, draped the blankets along the row and lay down for a very comfy sleep =P
In the beginning I had a wild idea on who she was, but I was like nope that is just my sense of humor and not a joke others would make. 19:19 reminded me why I watch your videos and love the commentary on them. One thing about America that I am sure is the same in other large countries, if you see the name of a city or region before the name of the dish (example: New York Cheesecake, New England clam chowder) that means that dish was made more to how it is prepared in that region. Hence the difference between the chowders you experienced on your trip. But I think even smaller (in square miles/kilometers) have similar things, like how ramen or quoza are prepared in different areas of Japan.
Wow that first class service was horrendous! So glad the food looked so much more appetising elsewhere! ESPECIALLY that second pizza place! Those slices looked HUUUUGE and so tasty 🤤😋
In America when flying from coast to coast ie 5 hours to 5 and 1/2 hours or less the domestic airlines do not typically provide you with bedtime necessities unless asked!

New York style clam chowder is a thinner, tomato based soup. The creamy one (which is much better) is New England clam chowder.

Domestic US route? Assume it's relabeled business class. First on international flights or on foreign carriers can be fantastic.

The outbound flight was fine, but the return flight we had no food because the domestic food service did not deliver anything to the plane before they left the US. So the people on that flight also had no food. The flight attendants were so annoyed that they gave everyone a hand written card with the name and email for the VP of catering. Glad your experience was better!

I just flew American 1st class from Dallas to Vegas. Let me tell you … that was business class !! I’ve flown 1st class many times but my seat was NOTHING like what you showed here. I’ll NEVER spend the extra money to fly 1st class ever again.

For a disappointing first class, try Southwest. 25th anniversary, spent the points to fly 1st class to and from NY. First class on SW means a 2/1 split for seating, a box lunch and pay for your drinks, with seats and leg room a whopping 2% more than coach. Coming home, decided to go crazy and have a beer, but weather shut down drink service. You owe me a beer, SW.

I had once american airlines flight, all personnel are old balding men, TV is 14" CRT screen mounted on the ceiling, plane feels it's gonna drop soon or at least the CRT tvs, and movies selection for action movies were: "Harry Potter 6 in German"

As an American, I hope you're impressed by our service, hospitality, and food. $1500 seems reasonable for business/first class from coast to coast, although that's much more than I can afford. New York has one of the best metro system in the world.
Not having the full menu was calculated. I would have wanted the chicken myself. I've been on similar flights and the full menu was available for first class. I am sad your choices were limited.

I don't know what I expected from a 1st class airline seat, but it was much more than this =/ I assumed you'd at least be able to stretch your legs out properly. I had more luxury in economy on my flight to Florida earlier this year. Less than 1/3 of the plane was booked so I got a whole row to myself, lifted all the arm rests up, draped the blankets along the row and lay down for a very comfy sleep =P
I see all the people in the comments complaining about AA but this is still miles better than any service from Air Canada.

In the beginning I had a wild idea on who she was, but I was like nope that is just my sense of humor and not a joke others would make. 19:19 reminded me why I watch your videos and love the commentary on them.
One thing about America that I am sure is the same in other large countries, if you see the name of a city or region before the name of the dish (example: New York Cheesecake, New England clam chowder) that means that dish was made more to how it is prepared in that region. Hence the difference between the chowders you experienced on your trip. But I think even smaller (in square miles/kilometers) have similar things, like how ramen or quoza are prepared in different areas of Japan.
Wow that first class service was horrendous! So glad the food looked so much more appetising elsewhere! ESPECIALLY that second pizza place! Those slices looked HUUUUGE and so tasty 🤤😋

As someone who has watched essentially every video on your channel, I have a very important question that I feel you may hold the answer to : do you by any chance happen to know what happened to the grape flavor of Calpico??? Its one of my favorite flavors to get here in the US but one day everywhere just stopped selling it, and I cannot find any information online anywhere that explains why the grape flavor simply no longer exists. Do they still sell the grape flavored ones in Japan? Was it discontinued? Im desperate haha
