Woah I’m a 20 year old born and raised in Borger and I’ll confess I don’t have much pride about it… but something about this just made me smile I know that’s home. Thank you so much for coming out I always thought we were birthing more than a bunch of plants
I'm a 52 year old born and raised in Texas and unfortunately before you were born, they took all the fun things away like cruising Main and partying out in Plemons. You can't even drive out there anymore but we knew how to have fun then.
My guy, racism and hate on both sides?? U make it seem like the natives were wrong for defending their land! The hate and racism was VERY one sided! Do better! Good show though!
I was born in Borger 72 years ago. I couldn't wait to get out of it after 2 years at Frank Phillips Jr. College. I now live in Amarillo and occasionally go back for a funeral. In the 60-70s everyone had their noses in everyone else's business, but I guess all small towns are like that. I did have some wonderful friends in Borger, and now that I am no longer young and crazy, Borger doesn't seem as bad
I knew Don Rash, proud he was from Borger. Ended up in Liberal,KS not too far away. A very successful man in Liberal, and one of the most proud Texans I've ever met.
You should do Dalhart during the first week of August for the XIT Rodeo and reunion. They have the "worlds largest bbq feed" along with other free feeds, like watermelon and pork chops and a parade and a rodeo, complete with a rodeo queen contest. They even have dances every night after the rodeo. Its a really fun time and it celebrates the XIT ranch that was approximately 3,000,000 acres from 1885-1912.
I've said it before and I'll say it again they really need to make a western called Booger Town that tells the story of this town and the people good or bad that were instrumental in its beginnings.
You have to come try Rusty Pit BBQ in Hereford TX!! Some of the best bbq I have had and it’s in small town Texas I’ve lived here my whole life I’m a local barber. And we have some good bbq and authentic Mexican food you would love!!
Glad to see you didn’t immediately demonize the buffalo hunters or the natives. History is what it is and it’s always easy to sit in our armchairs 150 years later and impose our morals and beliefs on those of the past whether or not they were right or wrong.
No patent but outrageous burger and yes we claim first status here in the Panhandle, not caring about other firsts but holding onto our bragging rights 😂😂love all our neighbors 🍔
My family has a very rich and deep history in Borger Texas, Borger indeed is historically and well documented as racist, yet it also has/had very good people …but still unknowingly functions on institutionalized racism and slow burning corruption…but my family made its mark in a huge way here and are overall very successful because of their upbringing in this little town in the panhandle.
Wrong. It’s been tested multiple times. The Sharps rifles were (and are) capable of hitting man-sized targets at that range, in the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing. The biggest issue is reading the wind. IIRC Dixon himself said he was holding “three Indians high and two into the wind”. He also acknowledged that it was a very lucky shot.

I used to swim on that lake ❤
I've said it before and I'll say it again they really need to make a western called Booger Town that tells the story of this town and the people good or bad that were instrumental in its beginnings.

I’m surprised you haven’t come down to McAllen and Harlingen, you’ve been to Brownsville and spi but not those. Hoping to see more of rgv!
You have to come try Rusty Pit BBQ in Hereford TX!! Some of the best bbq I have had and it’s in small town Texas I’ve lived here my whole life I’m a local barber. And we have some good bbq and authentic Mexican food you would love!!
Have you been to Taylor Tx?
Woah! i live there
As a direct descendant of Ace Borger, I approve of this video.👍👍 -John C. Borger
I actually personally know Charles. I used to volunteer at his treatment facility.
I'm pretty sure I saw an episode of Walker Texas Ranger with the same backstory.
Worked there and ate lingua in mexican cafe
I'm from the area and you want to know the history ask some of the old folk
I was born in borger now I live in Palestine Texas
First in. Cows and Dirt.
Yo Chet!
Borger is Amarillo’s offspring
Glad to see you didn’t immediately demonize the buffalo hunters or the natives. History is what it is and it’s always easy to sit in our armchairs 150 years later and impose our morals and beliefs on those of the past whether or not they were right or wrong.
🫵 HE EAT BORGER IN BORGER
I got a huge borger watching this one
The onion burger was invented in the 1920s in Oklahoma City and George Motz popularized it. She acts talks like she invented it.
😂😂
I disagree. She's just been doing it longer than it's been trendy. Smash burgers are all the rage now.
Did you not understand 1920's
Read before you comment. Onion burger is probably the first smash burger
Maybe didn’t invent the onion burger just perfected it
No patent but outrageous burger and yes we claim first status here in the Panhandle, not caring about other firsts but holding onto our bragging rights 😂😂love all our neighbors 🍔
So that would be the famous Oklahoma Onion Burger!!
Just saying
My family has a very rich and deep history in Borger Texas, Borger indeed is historically and well documented as racist, yet it also has/had very good people …but still unknowingly functions on institutionalized racism and slow burning corruption…but my family made its mark in a huge way here and are overall very successful because of their upbringing in this little town in the panhandle.
If you have any questions or doubts, please let me know lol I have at least a century of documents and examples to discuss! Go Bulldogs!
Try Trump Burger in Bellville Texas.
If anyone thinks a rifle from 150 or so yrs ago could hit a mile away…they’re gullible!
You are uneducated!!!¡!!
Racism and hate on both sides??? Wow! Be honest, and do better @daytripper
Sadly it's true and messy. Research the Comanche.
