Cool FC and camper, amazing to see them still together. There's a book called Highways Across the Horizon by Dorthy Rodgers about two women driving a Jeep FC with an Alaskan Camper on the back around the world in the '60s.
It'd be really cool to see them find all 3 and do 3 tier restoration. Make #1 all "stock" original to the tour days, #2 and extreme updated version, and #3 a blend of both.
Sooooo cool, I'm currently restoring one in NorCal. A 58 FC-150. Building a tube chassis, lengthening the wheelbase to a 170. Adding a mid-frame LS engine with a 4L80e and a NP205 Tcase. One-ton axles on 40's with leafs front and rear. Thing is gonna be a monster when its done
Fairly certain I saw this thing headed east on i70 in Utah a couple of days ago. Didn't get a great look as I was headed in the other direction but It seems like a super awesome rig.
I'm from the Midwest and have gone to Badlands Off Road Park quite a few times. Great place! May see that rig out there this summer. Would be cool to restore it mostly stock. Hope they actually fix it up and not leave it with "patina". That truck could be used and enjoyed for many more years with some TLC.
I live near Toledo Ohio and in 50 years I’ve never seen a FC before. Untilll I moved to a small town just outside Toledo. There’s a woodworking shop In the country area I drive thru quite often and there are 2 F C’s out front and I’ve seen one in the back.
Very nice rig , definitely needs to be persevered 👍 don’t know what route they are taking but I’m located in Tucson az any problems if you guys are heading this way I got a full shop willing to help.
I live a little ways east of the badlands here in Indiana unfortunately have never been able to go there but have some friends and relatives that go there
What's up with everyone dusting off their FC's? I can't finish mine due to funds. 😭 Maybe if you start up a group event in Pismo maybe I'll force myself to do something.
I've been trying to find an FC in Canada for years now, always completely rusted out and missing glass or the box is gone or its just the cab. sucks man. jealous of anyone not in the rust belt.
That is an incredibly cool truck!

I read that book! Too bad I had to return it to the library.
@@Frankenbuilt I've restored a couple Alaskans from that era: th-cam.com/video/JUuGklVLUno/w-d-xo.html
That's badass, I love seeing older vehicles like this being saved.
That is a real, original off road overlander machine. Sweet!
Smart idea to tuck the propane and gas cans between the spare tires and fender flares as well as under the edge of the camper. Cool looking rig 👍👍
I'm was born and raised in socal, used to see alot of those in the 60's, 70's
I live close to the Badlands off-road park. Hopefully I get to see it sometime soon.

My dream tow rig is f c 170. I hope this helps give you the bug to work on your forward control because yours is awesome.

damn, Kit knew what's good!
There was an FC jeep for sale (like 20-25 years ago) locally at a lot that had an awesome conversion called the “Moon Unit”.
Extraordinarily cool rig! 😮

I just love oddball trucks like this
Super rad Fred! I got to do a disc conversion on a fc150 years back! Sbc probably makes it MOVE.
So very cool! I've always loved the FCs. There are not many left here in Pennsylvania
That's a pretty cool camper definitely would use a lot
I would totally use that. That would be fun to restore.
That is cool! Thanks for sharing!
Can’t wait to see it in Attica! Fred should come out for the reveal?
Hey Fred, what ever became of the Scout with the camper on it? Is it still in the ravine up by Dubuque? Or did the Anything Scout crew get it rescued?
that is a cool old camper!
Half century since I last seen one of those.
That thing is awesome!
That thing is awesome
Cool truck Fred, when are you going to get your FC running?
Way cooler than anything “overland” today
Very cool. I would love to own it.✌️
oh , what a little beauty .. i suspect anybody over 6foot will struggle to drive it
This is my dream truck
Looks like a Granville King special.
There is a name I had forgotten!

Do they have a YT channel Fred?

The ultimate off grid free energy vehicle that runs everything off of magnetic generators with solar batteries charging from them would be incredible
So cool
That is so cool
I know Adam that drove it there! lol
I wouldn't mind owning something like that ( cool factor is quite high )
Oh my... That thing is bitchin!
What's up with everyone dusting off their FC's? I can't finish mine due to funds. 😭
Maybe if you start up a group event in Pismo maybe I'll force myself to do something.
That thing is sweet
Freakin awesome
Was this exactly the kind of motivation you needed to get your FC out and running?
I've been trying to find an FC in Canada for years now, always completely rusted out and missing glass or the box is gone or its just the cab. sucks man. jealous of anyone not in the rust belt.
they paved your street? remember when all those roads were dirt.
"Waste of tax payers dollars" -Fred, Season 1, Episode 1 of DED (The Mr Rodgers Episode)
Do you know if all three of them were converted to small block Chevy's?
Freaking sweet
Well at least they have support if they need it.
That is cool
Jeep FC are the coolest but was never sold in Sweden :-(
wow
That thing is unbearably cool
I like it.
that's like the US version of the Unimog.
Is that a Chevy 350 with a ranger torque splitter and a 465 tranny?
Rad!
✌🏼😎
What route are they taking?
In 40 years no one will look back and say how cool 1990+ era cars were. Those 60- early 80s cars and trucks had soul!.... unlike anything modern.
So cool
