And I'm also wondering whether just like super car owners who can only show off all that power once a twice a year on a track day, gamers buying into Alder Lake, PCIE gen 5 and DDR5 will have anything more tangible to show for their investment than a higher Cinebench, Heaven or Futuremark score for at least the next year or two?

    I have to ask this question:
    Since we have two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots... Is it only the first one that is directly connected to the CPU? Or are both of them directly connected to the CPU?
    For example: Can I have a GPU connected to the first slot and capture card to the 2nd slot? I've heard that you can do that on the MSI Carbon z690 board.

    • @brianmateo8041
      @brianmateo8041 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can always use the 2nd slot, except in some motherboards it wont reach the max speeds. Usually its one generation lower, so the pcie 5.0 would be 4.0. And using a capture card as a reference isnt the best as it wont need 5.0 speeds

    Damn (mines coming Monday) .. I just noticed it doesn't have a DisplayPort. What the hell were they thinking!? There have been a ton of issues with RTX 30 series "displaying" and now FFS I'll need to temporarily run by having to remove the back panel of my monitor an HDMI cable .. we're all I needed to do before would be to move the DisplayPort from one port to another. Oh hell yeah .. the ASUS LGA 1700's are all overpriced. I was willing to pay $1.2K maybe 1.5K for the Glacial (yes even that's high .. but you have to figure in a full water block) but ASUS decided $2K is the bend over pricing.
    Regarding of why things are so expensive in Australia it's actually very simple your government imposes insane import taxes as a form of protectionism. Instead your government needs to decide what industries needs protecting, I can't imagine any motherboard plants going out of business in Australia.

    Awesome another great video!!! Another super expensive 🤣📈 board!
    Not 2 years ago AMD made PCI gen 4 a thing and that made the prices go up a lot. We are not seeing everything and everyone to be over it all that much because of pricing, now they needed to bring gen 5, why? where's the benefit?

    640 euros. Gettafuckout. Also get rid of that m.2 card and reduce the price further.
