I wish they’d make another Code. I’ve owed the M6F and M7F and I chose them simply because of the “ROG Armor” on the front of the board. It was always a waste of money though as I never planned to water cool. It was nice when the Maximus X Code came along and had a cover over the front. It’s the perfect board for me.
I'm pretty sure the 6 pin pcie below the 24 pin provides high power to the USB-C front connection for fast charging, it may or may not also power the lower pcie slots. The pcie slots are Gen 5 gen 5 and gen 3.
I haven't seen anything official, but I just went through the full manual for the older Maximus XII Formula board and it doesn't mention hooking anything up to the VRM coolant fittings at all. Nowhere does the manual even mention water, filling it, hooking it to a pump, or any other requirements. From what I can tell, it's completely optional.
i didn't understand what is the thing with the ekblock? it a block you put on the cpu for cooler? if so, it's complicated to build or it's just 1 or 2 steps to install?
Oh wow... that exact motherboard I'd want to for my new white Asus build! Wondering when they'll release here in Canada... Question... could this still be used without any water cooling?
Hi, Im a newby. Do i have to use water cooling with this motherboard?, or can i use aio cooling and leave the waterblock empty? Will it over heat compared to the strix?
@Vanilla Bumblebee Aorus Master is £429 whilst Asus Extreme is £939 and there would be zero difference in running the actual processors, I've had an X570 Aorus Master with 5950X for almost a year at 4.7GHz... People just like to overspend of stuff because they think it'll make their build better, they then pair it with an AIO or bad ram... And you're a major fan of Asus right? I've got a Dominus Extreme sitting under my desk if you want it lol.
I have the same MOBO and just did a bios update. Now the Oled screen stays on after a shutdown. Does anyone know how to control the OLED screen or even turn it off for that matter?
i have had nothing but problems with my maximus z690 formula since i manage to get it built last week, running a 12900k, i updated bios to 0811 on win 11 with 3, 980 pro's in raid 0 and 32G of G.skill 6000mhz CL40 DDR5, ran fine for 2 days turned it on following day, blue screened and crashed so hard even the bios crashed and it tried to revert to safe mode to try and resolve itself, by the time i got into the bios mouse moved changing to some drop downs worked then that froze. i ended up dropping bios to 0702 and doing a non powered revert to downgrade the bios then it started to play ball. if you have any issues or questions do feel free to drop me a pm.
Add another feature along with built-in IO shields, post code read-outs, and clear CMOS buttons that should be standard on _all_ motherboards over $200 with that PCIE release button. I had no idea I needed that until I saw it.
Any reason why the ASUS webpage redirects to the error page when you access this motherboard page? Also, any idea of price and availability? I see nothing out there yet.
Hello sir, quick question. Let’s say I wanted to do this build but watercool the gpu. Would I need 2 separate pumps or how would I be able to cool the vrm and the gpu if it requires more in/out ports?
The VRM waterblock should have a solid satin nickel top, to match the new EK CPU blocks and satin fittings. The 6pin Motherboard aux power is probably to power the CPU video chipset.
Beautiful MB , but I would not touch those Asus MB with OLED display panels on it anymore, had a Formula XI before, the OLED screen has burn in after few months of use, was a pain to go thru RMA, all they could do is replace the armor shield with the OLED and its not even new, its all refurbished with lots of scratches on it, and it took them months to do it, Asus custom support is a big let down, such high price MB that comes with crappy quality OLED is just awful. happened to a lot of their other products that came with OLED too, like the Thor PSU, and their AIO CPU Cooling, there are people who had OLED burn in problems if you search with google. Not to mention this OLED actual display size seems exact same as previous formulas... they just make the boarder bigger with a lot of black area.
