- Chennedy Carter has been cut by the LA Sparks. What happened? We look at how it went bad in Atlanta and how it fell apart in LA. As well, why didn't Curt Miller bring her into Sparks training camp to take a look. How did she go from all rookie first team to being cut 2 years later. We take a deep dive.

Me too. I wanted to basically see why she isn't starting. The girl can freaking hoop! So i see now it was dicipline issues. But now on sky with t Cooper, she's getting another chance and hopefully she's matured. 1 incident thus far with Caitlin won't make me abandon her at all. I saw the elbow Clark threw the play before. But I also understand she gotta control her temper period. I think she can be a force with sky. N now i see why she is on bench. Bc if she starts, she will likely take over and upset the other guards. But the girl is just better than most guards in the league. Period!
me but i not really thinking about the CC situation....i been watching her since the beginning of the season as the sky is one of my favorite teams (due to kah, sloot, and CP3) ...and one of the rookies this year (reese) is on the team....so to me i wanted to see the x's and o's of the team because i honestly believe that team has alot of gems and depth that if they play together they can do wonders together.....and one thing i noticed is their small guards can finish at the rim....so i was curious about allen, carter and evans....and seeing carter and hearing her name kept me saying i heard that name before ....and then i realized that lakers trade that involved a 1st round draft pick had me in the past thinking this carter player must be a potential steal....and sure nuff now seeing her in chicago i see that huge potential she has.... this video just came up in my timeline either due to the CC incident or because i was looking at Carter's wnba profile/career stats

It says quite a bit about a player when a team would rather throw away her $87k salary by waiving her than even letting her sit on the bench. Too needy. Too immature.
We all remember Shoni Schimmel, the spectacular guard out of Louisville. She was drafted #8 in the 2014 first round draft. As a rookie, she was voted MVP of the 2014 WNBA All-Star game. Certainly she was one of the most exciting players I ever seen. Shoni’s career was effectively over by the close of the 2016.
Yes exciting but little guard who can't shoot or play defence that makes bad decisions will struggle to get roster spot in WNBA. Can she find her shot. Her rookie year she could shoot but was that just improved due to the background in the bubble. Either way hopefully she makes good money crossing people over in turkey

Chennedy has signed a training camp contract with the Chicago Sky. She must fit and play well with others... Her anger must be channeled in a focus positive winning way without making waves on the team. I alway liked her fearlessness but it must be under control. I hate it when players sulk and belly ache. Just play the game hard and share the success with your team.

It’s kinda sad I went to high school with her and this was always her fall back she was 2 cocky and that was one thing I felt like her dad needed to always put in check her little brother learned from this and was a much more humble player

It was best to let Chennedy go because overseas, they love the showboat players. You make tons of money to be the highlight reel for television. I think she will be happy over there. However, I would not be surprised to see her back in a WNBA uniform again, but you do need a strong coach to guide her.

I've watched coach Curt Miller for the Sparks in a few games this season and I can tell he's a level-headed, nice person. He made the right decision to get rid of Chennedy Carter. Getting cut from two WNBA teams, for threatening teammates at least in one case, is a clue she is a nasty person who can't control her emotions. The blind-sided shove on CC was evidence that she still is. Yes, she's a great BB player, but she's also a dirty player. She's on a team now with a coach who fits nicely with her, since TSpoon apparently had a similar dispostion as a player in 1997. Check the FanDuel video with Nancy Lieberman talking about a player from Vanderbilt who asked her what to do about TSpoon "jacking her every day in practice". Nancy said "Punch her in the face and it will never happen again." @mcanqb, I think you're right when you wrote, "her trash self is back at it". At the very least, Carter should have been ejected from the game for the non-basketball sneaky shoulder blow that could have caused serious injury, no matter who was shoved. This is basketball, not MMA.

Carter should be in the league but she will still make her money. She should maybe play exclusively overseas because the WNBA is tripping with that prioritization rule. Players should prioritize who pays the most...

Carter has game, and she was instrumental in the Sky winning that last game over the Fever. I know Angel had a lot to do with it too, but Carter has the floor skills, which to me, she should be a starter. I don't know why she is coming off the bench. Lastly, she needs to be able to channel her anger. It does the team no good if you are getting flagrant fouls or getting thrown out of the game.

Chennedy has always played with fierceness and had attitude. Hopefully now that she’s back in Chicago they have the perfect Coach for her game and attitudes!

She was a major distraction and her style of play didn't help ATL so it was adios. Issues with Sparks so her talent isn't fitting in.
Despite any success she has overseas the longer she stays out of the WNBA the fewer the chances that she will be able to return especially since her talent is in her one-one-one 'iso' style play. She won't be a good fit when there are so many players entering the league every year. Field will be too crowded. She has most likely burned any bridges leading back into the league.
I think she will get one last chance.

I think it would behoove her to stay and play overseas for a few years while she grows as a person and as a baller...but being a star overseas doesn't always translate to being a star in the W, so I don't know that it will help her ego at all. I don't think we've seen the last of her year though. Hope not anyways! When she's happy, it radiates through all of her movements, and we could absolutely use more of that joy in the game :)

This video isn't based around what happened recently, but rather a telling chronicle of the years leading up to it. She has a history of being unable to control herself (wether you want to acknowledge that or not).
I’m willing to admit my bias as an Atlanta Dream fan having covered them for 3 seasons now. But my guy the way you throw out “her attitude” without following up with an “allegedly” is insane. I understand if your knowledge of the situation comes from research rather than actually watching in real time during all of this but the framing of Chennedy in this video could lead to your viewers thinking your opinion is fact. Everything else was cool tho. Great breakdown on all sides, it’s just the framing of Chennedy really came across disrespectful.
Really, I will need to take another look. I think it is clear she got suspended from dream after her disagreement with Williams. I think it was fact that coach Fred Williams DNP her as he was unhappy with something. I have a video where Sykes stands up for her in press conference as she praises Kennedy saying she is here and putting witch thought was shade on Liz Cambage who took her ball and went home. Overall the big thing to me true or not (the reputation) Kurt Miller had a choice to give her a shot in training camp as her salary was guaranteed and he cut her. He was obviously keen on building a new culture and did not want Chennedy apart of it.

It been said that the WNBA has been around for what 27 years now. No new teams, very few new players little lone good players over those years. They keep bringing up the "we want to be paid more". Problem with that is the product is for entertainment purposes, meaning you are paid for the entertainment value. If no value you don't get paid. The DUMP aka WNBA has lost millions each year of existence. Maybe the problem isn't the general public thats the problem, maybe it's the fact you cant really play and entertain fans. So far this year i have seen nothing to change my opinion. ITS STILL THE DUMP AND NOBODY CARES.

1.) Lower the goal to 8' feet so they'll be more dunks than blown layups
2.) Draft an iconic "feminine" player that can both play well & become the face of league like MAGIC & MJ did in the NBA.
Until then it's going to continue to be like a sinking blow up raft with a slow leak.
