Mystics fan here. I firmly believe that Sophie is not by any means a dirty player she is just intense that is how she was at Missouri. She don’t back down from nobody. She will take it but she will also dish it out. She is a damn good player

Nah, not dirty. She can get chippy and intense, but not inherently dirty. She’s not out there to hurt people, just playing tough and not taking shit. She deserves some of those technicals for sure, but overall just gets her team hyped up. Same with Mabrey.

She’s honestly both. I love that she’s not no bitch and fires up her team but I also feel like sometimes she does too much.

Mabrey plays with a chip on her shoulder but sometimes gets out of control. She kinda whines a bit too and can cross the line imo. That said, she’s grown on me. SophieCunningham (all one word) is just a “yeah we bad”, in yo face kinda tough player. She’s pretty and white so I think she feels (again just my opinion) some players underestimate and try to take advantage of a perceived weakness that isn’t there. She does NOT play with a chip on her shoulder like some though. She just won’t give in to being bullied. Sykes was trying to bully her like the foul she gave Clarendon last week. I like Brenda but she crosses the line. Hines-Allen fouled her and then tried to do the step-over like she did something. I remember Draymond Green trying to punch his buddy LeBron in the nutsack after Bron tried stepping over him. What SophieCunningham did was mild in comparison.
All of this noise is because of weak and inconsistent officiating. Not my opinion, just a fact.
Watch the game in the WNBA folks, it's original, fundamentally sound and physical, all attributes that once upon a day the NBA was. To suggest Sophie or Marina are bullies is so untrue. Many of the talented stars, D Carrington, Alyssa Thomas, Skylar Diggins, all of them and more all play with intensity, they are not trying to hurt anyone. The National media only began watching when the new class of up and coming Superstars were drafted. Let them play

I respectfully disagree. I played against her in high school. Rock bridge, which was the high school she went to was one of our rivalry’s. Watching her in college She was still a bit dirty. Talented but dirty. We also need to understand the difference between being aggressive and being dirty.
