You are not suppose to engage 4x4 low while driving on tarmac (or other high friction surfaces). In this situation when you turn, since the truck works “like it have a blocked central diff” (I know it doesn’t have one), it will drag one or both rear wheels, because the difference in speed between the 2 axels, it will make a noise exactly like that.

We bought a 2011 xlt 3.5 eb A few years ago with 186,000 for 12,500, it’s got almost 250,000 miles and it has been the best truck we’ve owned. It’s getting a built performance transmission soon, the current stock one is showing signs of getting tired, truck has also been tuned and modified since we bought it
Randy the tailgate has a step that comes out of the top of the tailgate that goes along with that handle so you don't have to try and step all the way up onto the tailgate. Also, the truck shuts down after a little bit when started with the remote. My 2014 Chevy Silverado does that to. The after market wheels(Fuel) that you had on it when you bought it need to have TPMS sensors put on and then taken to the dealer to be programmed to the vehicle.
I would check the bolt than holds the pin that holds everything together in the rear end if it's not the u joints. That bolt could've backed out and it could be binding in the pinion. Ive seen alot of trucks do that and the pin will eventually drop and grenade the rear end.
I'm really happy for you Randy! I subscribed to this channel around the 60k subs and look at it now! I really appreciate your effort and work and can only be thankful. The cab corners rust because the third brake light leaks water and it follows the pat down and sits in the corners. If you drill a small hole underneath it helps drain and dry out

Randy, I own the same model truck. Great vehicle. I bought it used and when I first got it, it had a bad noise in the rear end that would sometimes jar the truck like I had been hit from the rear. It turned out to be a bad transmission molded leadframe. Ford issued a warranty extension on this item to 150K miles or 10 years. I know yours would be out of warranty now, but since you have the extended warranty coverage, you might want to have the Ford check this part. Good luck with the truck. I think you will really enjoy it.
Congrats on your 200k loyal followers. Known you since Uberman,m. We all just feel your sincerity and down to earth coloquial conversation around cars and stuff you do and we enjoy. Keep it going.
Definitely change EVERY fluid right away. Oil, coolant, brake fluid, diff fluid with friction modifier, and most importantly trans fluid. Also FIX THE RUST on the cab corners before it gets bad have someone do it if you dont feel comfortable trust me once it starts to rot through then you're going to have to cut and weld in new metal but what you have is fixable but if you wait it may not be
Go to auto store of choice and buy limited slip additive. Sta-Lube is one common brand. Use 3/8 ratchet to unscrew the fill plug with 3/8 square on left forward side of differential. Snip the tube end and squeeze it in. Go drive in an empty parking lot and do circles both direction to work the additive into clutches. Stick-slip is the name given that condition. The clutches hold both axles to diff case. When a wheel slips that clutch keeps the free wheel from spinning free and some torque is still applied via the clutch to the tractive wheel. On pavement any wheel speed difference side to side will be too much force for clutches so they have to slip. The additive allows that slip to happen without the binding and the sudden release when the force goes high enough.
So trueee turbo inc and if I am right they have 2 and the reason why company have eco boost is because they have good fuel economy but they get rid at like 100k cause turbo always go wrong
My 3.5 twin turbo self destructed at 67,000 miles after all factory maintenance performed and followed at the dealership. Will never have another.........
A lot of the ecoboost have issues because people would run conventional oil because it didn't specifically say synthetic oil, did and did have A Ford spec which equal synthetic
I'm sure it's been said, but there is a step that pulls out from the tail gate and makes it easier when using the old man handle. I just got mine and am really loving it!
It's your limited slip diff. Like other people said, change the fluid and add the friction modifier. Funny, I just stumbled upon this video, I'm about to buy a 229k mile F150 ecoboost next week. Love the truck!
I got a 2001 F150 last year for $4k with only 106,000mi. It was a company vehicle for a logging firm, so the maintenance was kept up perfectly. It ran great, but after doing some basic changes like new spark plugs, coil packs, filters, a seafoam treatment, new tires, and differential fluid change, it's perfect! Truck feels like a brand new vehicle, and is easily worth $8k today, but I'm gonna keep it because it'll last easily for another 100k mi plus.

One more reason to like Randy---"My dog means more to me than the leather!". Much respect for that!!!! I'd try draining the diff and adding new fluid and the friction modifier. It fixed a truck I had with the same issue. Other than that, Good Luck with the newest addition to the fleet!
Just a thought Randy when I bought my Ford truck I had to change the differential fluid it was making like a grinding sound it just sounded terrible but after I did that I haven’t had an issue with it since
Hey Randy, dont worry about the plate, every business owner i know always says "Be loyal to whats loyal to you" and nothing is more loyal to you than your own business
Whenever I suspect u-joint or other drive, or suspension parts may be going bad, I apply grease to each, one at a time, and reassess. If the sound goes away, or is significantly reduced, I've likely found the problem.
I have almost the same exact truck. Just a year older and a extended cab instead of a crew cab. These trucks do have there quarks. But mine has the v8. The tailgate is a very easy fix. Just take the bolt out of the tailgate and adjust the rods inside. I’ve done it before. It’s very easy.
Pretty truck Randy! That Eco-bomb will give you PLENTY of youtube content FOR SURE! Just wait until that water-pump (in the center of the engine) designed by a non-mechanic obviously goes south🤦🏻♂️
Had that happen to my 2004, it was time to replace the seals as well. Mine happened anytime you were turning or had wheel slippage. Once I changed the seals and refilled with synthetic jear lube and friction modifier the "judder" was gone. If you are ever in a parking lot watch any Ford truck making tight turns, almost all of them do it to a certain extent. Time for a fluid dump and refill, the friction modifier needs replacing.
The taller wheels look tons better than the stock little wheels. Nice truck. Man you look like you’re wearing eye makeup when you’re at Firestone talking in the truck!! Are you??
It also supposed to have a rear end differential lock also . Pull the knob straight out on the four wheel drive. Instead of one wheel spinning it locks both in on the rear. Ford makes great trucks .
The truck stopped running when you opened the hood because of the hood switch. This is a safety feature and will occur when you remotely start the truck with the key and then open the hood. Funny thing I have the same truck (model year, color, interior) but it has just over 105k miles and it has the coyote 5.0.
Scammed by buying his truck for the price he asked. Then shamed by the AAR army. Ok. If you say so. I hope someone with 1M subs doesn't feel that way about AAR.

Firestone for tires. Trans and diff shop for diffs. My Explorer did the same thing and stopped when the fluid was changed out. See below.

Just a thought Randy when I bought my Ford truck I had to change the differential fluid it was making like a grinding sound it just sounded terrible but after I did that I haven’t had an issue with it since
I'll take the fuel rims off u if ur taking them off for my f150
Hey Randy, dont worry about the plate, every business owner i know always says "Be loyal to whats loyal to you" and nothing is more loyal to you than your own business
I got 250K on my 5.4 triton 2 valve
drain and refill rear diff adding friction additive clutches will chatter when fluid is worn out. will have to drive a few miles to re-coat disc.
Do u realize that step slides out of tailgate to go with old man handle
I did not
Whenever I suspect u-joint or other drive, or suspension parts may be going bad, I apply grease to each, one at a time, and reassess. If the sound goes away, or is significantly reduced, I've likely found the problem.
I used to love Ford trucks but after they changed it all I went to Chevy it's old technology but it's seriously reliable
Water pump is external on these trucks I already checked :)
I should have known!!! Don’t forget to update us on Tim! We miss that rascal😢
That Ford F-150 is nice
Clickbait title, actually has 219k miles...
OMG
Had that happen to my 2004, it was time to replace the seals as well. Mine happened anytime you were turning or had wheel slippage.
Once I changed the seals and refilled with synthetic jear lube and friction modifier the "judder" was gone.
If you are ever in a parking lot watch any Ford truck making tight turns, almost all of them do it to a certain extent.
Time for a fluid dump and refill, the friction modifier needs replacing.
Put the fuels on the red truckkk
The taller wheels look tons better than the stock little wheels. Nice truck. Man you look like you’re wearing eye makeup when you’re at Firestone talking in the truck!! Are you??
Original wheels look better.
It also supposed to have a rear end differential lock also . Pull the knob straight out on the four wheel drive. Instead of one wheel spinning it locks both in on the rear. Ford makes great trucks .
Randy it looks better with the new mags 😉
The truck stopped running when you opened the hood because of the hood switch. This is a safety feature and will occur when you remotely start the truck with the key and then open the hood. Funny thing I have the same truck (model year, color, interior) but it has just over 105k miles and it has the coyote 5.0.
"I think his channel died off after that video I did"
Are you proud of that?
He should be, guy scammed him and that's not cool. Got what he deserved for being a liar
@@jimmyjimjims7483 exactly .
Scammed by buying his truck for the price he asked. Then shamed by the AAR army. Ok. If you say so. I hope someone with 1M subs doesn't feel that way about AAR.
Congratulations on 200,000 subscribers Randy, continued growth
