***** I honestly don't remember replying that text to your comment... I was on a troll hating rampage, but your comment is fine. So, my apologies. I'm unsure how exactly that happened.
Joe Doesntcareaboutthis So that is your way of dealing with trolls? Interesting.....with "troll hating" methods like yours it's impossible to tell which one is the troll.
It's empowering and inspiring to watch your videos. Anything from hand tools to complicated machinery is used in your videos and I want to thank you for that. In an age where apprenticeship costs too much "time and money", you're a journeyman apprenticing the world and I want to thank you for that. I can continue working my full time job and learn in ten minutes what it might otherwise take days or weeks to learn.
You're very welcome, it's the least that I can do. I sort of feel guilty for not making videos as well but for now that is the way that it must be. A short question, if you have time. Why did you choose to resaw the wood on the tablesaw instead of a bandsaw?
Damn, I'd love to have one of those 9-yr bottles, and in a Diresta custom box. I love the table saw finger joint method, so simple. After 40 years of making, Jimmy's got so many tricks for quick working it's no wonder he can breeze through so many projects. With style, too.
Again Mr. D., beautiful work. I being both a whiskey drinker and a Tenn. resident, I'm going out to buy a bottle of this as soon as I can. Thank you for the lovely presentation.
Woke up this morning (I'm in L.A.) and I see an alert for a new video from Jimmy. Great way to start my day. I got inspired to make something this weekend! Thanks J. Diresta
Lots of great tips and tricks "hidden" in this video for future box making projects. Fantastic work as always Jimmy. Thanks for all your hard work this year!
Awesome work as usual. A month ago or so I made a box for johnny walker gold as a retirement gift for a sgtmajor in the Marines. I used hand plane shavings to cushion the bottle some in the box. Love the finger joints and reclaimed wood!
Hello, I am Brazilian, and I really liked your video and your work. I started studying more about materials and woods, but in Brazil this area and undervalued. I've seen all your videos, do not stop! Thank you so much!
This is one of those classic, you should be able to do this no problem jobs. No one realizes how much work it really takes to be done right. That shop bot is really cool.
Hey Jimmy! You're such an inspiration, you've transformed the way I look at my own carpentry work. Aswell as being a carpenter, I've got a little hot sauce business in the UK and this would make a brilliant display set, Cheers!
I have seen that hinge glue trick before, but always screwed to the base first and glued to the lid, which makes it clumsy when trying to screw the hinge to the lid without the glue failing. Switching it like you did is much better, great video!
The 'it's not hand made' trolls aside, I really liked the design which incorporated that nice old recycled oak. Definitely a case I'd keep on a top shelf or tucked away in a drawer, and it compliments the whiskey bottle well.
Nicely done Jimmy. I don't see the need to criticize a man for his work. If you choose to make things with hand saws and chisels then that's great to. I used to do things with hand tools now I use both to get the job done.
happy gift giving and gift getting!I hope you and all your family are truly Blessed this CHRISTmas...& have a safe new year! Thank-youse for the vids and keep up the good work.! See you in spring, lol.
Awesome work! Love the epoxy on the hinge, sometimes you see something and wonder why the heck hasn't anyone thought of this before! Thanks for sharing!
As a fan of both watches and woodworking this video delighted me in several ways. The submariner is a great, rugged tool watch and it's always nice to see them used at such and with a few battle scars and not on the wrist of some pathetic banker.
Hey, I'm working in my little workshop too, don't have a lot of tools, like you, but you are my inspiration to create new ideas. :) Your movies are cool :)
Man! Wish I was into whiskey as much as I was into boxes! Those are some damn fine examples of boxes though. Gotta add a ShopBot to the wishlist I guess.
There's no better way to start the day than a new video from Jimmy Diresta
thank you !!
So true!
I agree 100%%
Agree 100%!! Jimmy Diresta's videos make me happy :D! Incredible work here Jimmy!
its 16:03 here in UK
The epoxy on the hinge trick is genius! I'm using that method from now on.
I know! What a great idea! ... It was one of those "Duh" moments as I watched it! Lol
Agreed, Clever as hell!
***** fuck you, naysayer. Don't suck and it works just fine. Dave doesn't suck, so he'll be fine.

This is my favorite video so far, Jimmy. This Tennessee boy says "A well done tribute to our sacred Tennessee whiskey!" Thanks for sharing.
Thank you brother !
Fantastic work jimmydiresta. Dickel is very lucky to have you on this project. Awesome!!
All that labor intensive work around all that dangerous machinery - all while wearing a ROLEX!!! I wish I had it like that.
Kudos!
advertising through a show of craftsmanship and skill, I wish everything was advertised like this. it makes it much more enjoyable to watch.
I love how every single thing you make exhibits not only your skills but also your creativity. You sir, are a badass.

Thank you for the kind words , i just tweeted this !

A short question, if you have time. Why did you choose to resaw the wood on the tablesaw instead of a bandsaw?
jimmydiresta Hi Jimmy, i like your work, could you do a video making bunk Beds, i need a clear idea on how to do it. thanks man keep up the good work
Jaffet peña
He built children's bunk beds in a TV show called "Hammered".
That's an inspired comment Jeremy and very thoughtful : ) Nicely done !
How could anyone not like that build. Badass and nice Rolex too.
I love the skill set and the submariner watch to prove the skill has been earned...!
The end of the video is great - "please drink responsibly." Those are just cool boxes, no matter what. Really enjoy your videos.
I LIKE THE WAY YOU USED THE EPOXY ON THE HINGE.GREAT IDEA! I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS.YOU SIR ARE A CRAFTSMAN.
I don't even drink, and I would buy that whisky JUST FOR THE DIRESTA BOX! Man, you rock!
Joseph Muench how bout you keep the box and I get the whiskey
Love this video!!! Another example of why you are Jimmy Diresta and the rest of us are not!! Great work!!!

Somebody had some forethought in designing and creating the boxes. It adds a lot of value to the whiskey , Well done.
These boxes look like books. I want to read in the library DiResta!!!...love your work !
Woke up this morning (I'm in L.A.) and I see an alert for a new video from Jimmy. Great way to start my day. I got inspired to make something this weekend!
Thanks J. Diresta
Awesome! I'm always blown away by your videos and ingenuity. Thanks for sharing.
Now thats a fine way to present a fine drop of whisky.
Great job....
It's joy watching Jimmy and Matt making masterpieces.
That old wood looks so rad. Cool hinge epoxy trick. Nice!
Awesome presentation box..... Cool things you always build.
All your videos are wonderful but this one is my favorite ... Thanks for all what you share with us ... Hello from France ;)
Jimmy, i love your videos. It's not just your technique but your creativity. I check every day for new Diresta videos. Keep 'em coming.
Very nice. I like that the bottle has some swigs taken out of it
These turned out really great, I like your trick with the piano hinge. I'll have to remember that one for sure. Nice work as usual!
Lots of great tips and tricks "hidden" in this video for future box making projects. Fantastic work as always Jimmy. Thanks for all your hard work this year!
Great trick using the epoxy to make hinge alignment easy. Thanks for the well made videos.
Sweet project. The boxes are beauty. Very nice job1
Very nice! It gives me a great idea for a Christmas present for a very good friend.
My wife is in the dog house if she does not order me one for Christmas. Good piece of work Jimmy!!
Perhaps you could build the doghouse she'll be in, and post a video.
If Jody builds it, she ain't getting out.
A atenção, o capricho faz desse trabalho uma obra de arte. Parabéns! Attention, caprice makes this work a work of art. Congratulations!
I don't drink, but I would buy one of those just for the look of them. Great presentation of those bottles!
Awesome work as usual. A month ago or so I made a box for johnny walker gold as a retirement gift for a sgtmajor in the Marines. I used hand plane shavings to cushion the bottle some in the box. Love the finger joints and reclaimed wood!
Beautiful Jimmy! I like that you're coming up with creative uses for the Shopbot. 15 people are going to be very happy.
Hello, I am Brazilian, and I really liked your video and your work. I started studying more about materials and woods, but in Brazil this area and undervalued.
I've seen all your videos, do not stop! Thank you so much!
Great idea and work given the timeline i doff my hat to you sir , Bravo JD
This is one of those classic, you should be able to do this no problem jobs. No one realizes how much work it really takes to be done right. That shop bot is really cool.
Gotta say I'm envious of whoever gets those boxes. I'd love to have a piece of Diresta's work... and the fine hooch. :)

wood is one of the finest materials you can find :)
Once the bottle is finished, that would make an awesome CBG! Love these projects!
Hey Jimmy! You're such an inspiration, you've transformed the way I look at my own carpentry work. Aswell as being a carpenter, I've got a little hot sauce business in the UK and this would make a brilliant display set, Cheers!
Very nice. I loved the technique for getting the hinges on straight.
This was good morning inspiration to go and MAKE something Jimmy. It is hard way to make the boxes but, the right way. Thanks for sharing it.
I have seen that hinge glue trick before, but always screwed to the base first and glued to the lid, which makes it clumsy when trying to screw the hinge to the lid without the glue failing. Switching it like you did is much better, great video!
Those are beautiful. Amazing video work as well sir. Thank you for all your hard work.
The 'it's not hand made' trolls aside, I really liked the design which incorporated that nice old recycled oak. Definitely a case I'd keep on a top shelf or tucked away in a drawer, and it compliments the whiskey bottle well.
Great video and a Rolex is a good choice. Manufactured 1h away from my home and my grandpa a swiss watch maker :-). Keep posting!
Love your videos here and on the MAKE channel. I've just sat here for the last two hours watching in fascination.

Wow Amazing all your videos are great. Thanks from Germany.
Yet another amazing finish.Great video. Thank you!
As a fan of both watches and woodworking this video delighted me in several ways. The submariner is a great, rugged tool watch and it's always nice to see them used at such and with a few battle scars and not on the wrist of some pathetic banker.
2 of my favourite things, whiskey and wooden boxes. Would love to get my hands on 1 of these. Great work as per Jim.

jimmydiresta Oh I don't blame you, just the irony level was high on this one :D
I thought the same thing! Haha
jimmydiresta ha, love it!
Cómo puedo adquirir una caja? En Ecuador no hay personas con esa habilidad artesanal .

Amazing. Love these videos. And I couldn't help but laughing at the irony of a CNC making a "hand mande" logo.
I went out and bought some of their whiskey after watching one of your videos. Damn good stuff.
Jimmy, outstanding, as usual.
Regards from Brazil.
Very cool indeed. Wish I was getting one for Christmas.
