- I created 15 boxes from reclaimed oak for a special George Dickel Tennessee Whisky project. The boxes will house their finest 9-year Barrel Program whisky. The timeline was one week! Hand made the hard way! ..Please like Comment Share and Enjoy!

The epoxy on the hinge trick is genius! I'm using that method from now on.

Awesome work as usual. A month ago or so I made a box for johnny walker gold as a retirement gift for a sgtmajor in the Marines. I used hand plane shavings to cushion the bottle some in the box. Love the finger joints and reclaimed wood!

Damn, I'd love to have one of those 9-yr bottles, and in a Diresta custom box. I love the table saw finger joint method, so simple. After 40 years of making, Jimmy's got so many tricks for quick working it's no wonder he can breeze through so many projects. With style, too.
I don't drink, but I would buy one of those just for the look of them. Great presentation of those bottles!
It's empowering and inspiring to watch your videos. Anything from hand tools to complicated machinery is used in your videos and I want to thank you for that. In an age where apprenticeship costs too much "time and money", you're a journeyman apprenticing the world and I want to thank you for that.
I can continue working my full time job and learn in ten minutes what it might otherwise take days or weeks to learn.

I have seen that hinge glue trick before, but always screwed to the base first and glued to the lid, which makes it clumsy when trying to screw the hinge to the lid without the glue failing. Switching it like you did is much better, great video!
This is one of those classic, you should be able to do this no problem jobs. No one realizes how much work it really takes to be done right. That shop bot is really cool.

The 'it's not hand made' trolls aside, I really liked the design which incorporated that nice old recycled oak. Definitely a case I'd keep on a top shelf or tucked away in a drawer, and it compliments the whiskey bottle well.

Nicely done Jimmy. I don't see the need to criticize a man for his work. If you choose to make things with hand saws and chisels then that's great to. I used to do things with hand tools now I use both to get the job done.

As a fan of both watches and woodworking this video delighted me in several ways. The submariner is a great, rugged tool watch and it's always nice to see them used at such and with a few battle scars and not on the wrist of some pathetic banker.

jimmydiresta Man I just want to say thanks. Using CA Glue/Epoxy to put the hinge on is pure freaking brilliance. That drives me freaking nuts anytime I'm messing with a hinge.

You're over thinking it. Writing it with a cnc is ironic in general. If it had been Jimmy's slogan it would have been false advertising and not ironic just deceitful.
Something can't be intentional and ironic at the same time. (Unless you count the hipster definition, but that's a different argument)
