    Always love watching these British broadcasts. Everyone was competent and they clicked well together. Appreciate Gary Mason's commentary and enthusiasm; he seemed like a good dude. Thanks for the uploads.

    Say what you want about Herbie Hide but he gave a good account of himself against big Daddy Bowe, and as for Bowe, that guy was pure entertainment. Gary Mason always seemed like a good guy ... RIP Gary

    3rd round Hide was wobbled by a decent jab, fight was over there and then. Hide had elite level speed and power but absolutely no chin and mentally was a nervous wreck in the ring. Herbie was the same size as Holyfield but Evander was on a different planet in terms of heart, chin ad stamina.

      yeah I think your right I mind watching the fight and thinking after round 2 hide could possibly win but he fell apart with that jab

    Interestingly enough Bowe has said Hide hit the hardest of all that he faced

    Surprised Bowe kept a straight face when Hide kept saying he was coming back for a rematch. It was kinda embarrassing after being knocked down 6-7 times.

    Hide started quickly but when Big Daddy got on him he was done. 😎🥊

    Bowe is on record saying that Hide hit him harder than anyone else.
    Hide collapsing signifies that his nervous system was shattered by the event as much as anything Bowe did.
    That 1st knockdown clearly wasnt a punch but look at the state of Hide, clearly not acting

    • @rogerburn5132
      @rogerburn5132 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You Are wrong Hide didn't just collapse it was very quick right hand punch on the back of his head by Bawe that knocked him down if you look the fight carefully. I mean the first knockdown.

      @@rogerburn5132 I'm not wrong fella, he even said it himself years later.
      Have you ever been in the ring ?
      He absolutely had an anxiety attack

    • @rogerburn5132
      @rogerburn5132 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigdaddy4069 well I first to tell you I don't mean to argue the talk it about the boxing match. But look carefully the first knockdown (I have because I was wondering myself) just like they are wondering until today about Mohammed Alli fantom punch. and it was punch by Bawe on the back of his head. Afcorse after that Hide will say that it was anxiety attack. You know how many times David Hay was complaining about shoulder hurting or his thumb Was broken before the fight After he lost the fight. No offence to you but Bawe made mess out of him and put him in his place. I em sorry to say that but its not personal it's about the fight only. Take care

    Hide showed a lot of bravery against such a giant opponent,but it was enevitable what the result was going to be and this is another example of how good holyfield really was.

    WBO heavyweight title was a Mickey mouse title back then. I remember Moorer and Mercer giving up the belt to pursue bigger fights

    Herbie was a bully he was great when he was dishing it out but when fighters give it back he couldn't take it .bowe was the man to put the bully in his place.the fight I would have loved to have seen is hide v mason if they were at there best the same time only a couple of years apart but if this fight did happen I would have picked mason to knock out hide in around 7 rounds .rip Gary mason

    Hide was never a natural heavyweight.14 stone (200lbs) can't cut it .He only fought heavyweight because he couldn't make cruiserweight at 13st 8lbs limit.
    Once cruiserweight came up to 14st 2lbs limit he went back to his rightful Division.

    Biggest tragedy in boxing was Bowe manager getting Bowe to throw his belt in the bin and avoid the fight with Lewis, and Bowe to listen to him. A prime Bowe in my opinion would of beat Lewis. 4 get the amstures. Riddick at his best and when he trained properly as he was very lazy with all that would of been unbeaten when retired. The fights with a prime Hollyfield was tremendous the 1st one. Moorer was another gem but so hard to train and was stubborn around Teddy Atlas and others. Bowe would of beat a prime Tyson, as would of Lewis. Who did Tyson beat when he was a champion, no Stella fighters. They were old and most came just to survive. when he did fight a fighter who believed in himself and had talent he got beat in Douglas. He was shot after that fight. LISTON In his prime and Foreman and frazer would beat Tyson. Best era was when Lewis dominated. He has some resume. He would beat anyone of today as would of Bowe.

      Good comments, I'm a big lennox fan but have to admit a peak bowe would have given anyone problems,, lewis vs bowe early 90s I'd slightly favour bowe, but lennox under manny Stewart I'd pick lewis all day, agree they would both beat peak tyson.👍🥊🥊

    Usky ain't a hollyfield. He could never mix it with Lewis and Bowe and and others in that era. Just too small. Poorest heavyweight decade.
