Your house is beautiful as yourself! I’m new to military lifestyle and I keep researching housing seeing all these nice housing hut when I get there, I get disappointed since it’s all about ranks to get the nicer houses. So I leaned to not have expectations and I’m happy as long as my hubby is with me because home is where our loved ones are. My husband is stationed in SD so I’m guessing Camp Pendleton is pretty far from SD bases. Thank you for the video and keep it coming! 👍🏼🙌🏼
It honestly just depends on the base! The houses designated for lower ranks do tend to sometimes be smaller and not as nice but my husband and I have lived in some really nice houses for e5 and below and some not so nice houses for e6 and up. I’d just say to leave your expectations open and do research on the housing where you’re going to and go from there! :) And yes Camp Pendleton is about an hour north of San Diego!
Not sure if you mean San Diego or South Dakota but I used to live on Ellsworth Air Force Base (in South Dakota) and the houses are really nice!!

We aren’t sure whether we’ll get it, but we have high hopes which is why I’ve been looking at housing ! We lived there in 2011, but so much has changed since then. If we do get it we’ll be there end of this year / early next year! When are you guys moving?
Amy Huizar that’s so awesome! Hopefully you guys get to come here! I love it here so much I don’t want to leave 😭 we are leaving here probably mid May! But yeah this is definitely the nicest housing on base probably! They’re all brand new and we are the first ones to ever live in this house!

Yeah it’s honestly soooo terrible! And I keep hearing issues about mold and things. So I’ve been trying to look off base as well I’m not sure what we’ll end up doing!

I used to live there from 1989 until 1992. We lived on Alderwood road in a Duplex. 407 B. Is it still there? I remember Alderwood then next street up was Boxwood then cottonwood then Dogwood. Boy I sure miss those days!
Whattt we lived in the same area at the same time! We didn’t live on base but we lived in San Marcos. We moved to Virginia in December but I miss SoCal soooo much!

Oh thank you 🥰🥰 haha that’s us now! We’ve since moved from Pendleton and I had to do a loooot of diy projects to get our current kitchen looking a little better 😂
We are hoping to snag a house in the community you just left!!! I cant believe how nice it is! There doesnt seem to be a lot available for E6 and up 😭 if you guys got Lejeune, be sure to look for sharks teeth on the beach! We have jars FULL from Onslow Beach on base!

Thank you! And this housing does not have AC! The neighborhood is close to the coast and the houses are a little more spread out than other neighborhoods so you get more of a breeze! You’re also allowed to put in a window ac if you need one!
Brittany Brown your best bet for ac housing on pendleton is gonna be deluz housing and o’neil housing. Be prepared though deluz takes all bah away. I lived in deluz housing for 5years on camp pendleton cuz was close to my husbands job. It was nice we liked it for just the two of us we just moved from camp pendleton though which is sad cuz i loved it..

We have only ever lived on base so I can't compare it to anything else, but we do like it a lot! :)
Ashley Sarvak yeah it’s not that bad! Some people complain about certain housing areas but we enjoyed it while we were there, and they made moving out easy

Ashley Sarvak yes lol, i want to put some in our bathrooms but I can never find any!! And we already love it so much!
My husband actually made them! He just bought a 1x6 piece of wood and cut it into three pieces, and we stained it and bought the white pieces that hold up the shelves at Home Depot for a couple bucks! Probably was less than $20 total to make :)!

Ashley Sarvak currently on Ft Lee , and Moving to Pendleton. Base housing here is not exactly bad, but will warning that the housing staff isn’t the best. There is horror stories about the housing here, but havnt experienced any bad maintenance related problems. Best of luck with Ft Lee, the Marine Command is in a good place climate wise.

What did you use to hang everything? like are you aloud to use tacks and stuff?
Every housing we’ve lived in has basically had the same rule, that you can hang whatever you want with nails or screws etc as long as the hole it leaves is smaller than a dime. Anything bigger than that and they’d just ask you to patch the hole or charge you upon move out. We’ve never had any issues with hanging anything and having it leave huge holes :)

I am not super sure! I’ve been away from Pendleton for over a year now and can’t remember what the other housing areas look like! Go on Facebook and look up a group called Camp Pendleton housing pictures!
They have pictures of all the housing for different ranks! ☺️

South Mesa 1 isn’t too bad. I believe they accept E4 and up.
Just be careful. We are actually about to move out of ours right now because of a mold issue.

My fiancé and I are getting married tomorrow but now I’m stressed because he found out that once we get married he loses his barracks room. We were in the same state finally after a year. I’m pregnant, and about to fly back home to Michigan Sunday and he’s gonna be in North Carolina :( but we are trying to get on base housing but I’m just worried that he will be kicked out of the barracks before we get approved and move on base housing. I’m not sure what to do ugh I hope the waitlist isn’t super long.
Especially because I’m going back home to Michigan because I was staying with family but they decided to switch up on me and now I’m going back home 🥺
Hey girl! I would have him talk to his command and see if there’s anything they can do, they aren’t likely to leave him without anywhere to go unless the barracks are close to being at capacity. When my husband and I got married we didn’t end up moving into a house on base together for five months. Everything worked out fine and he was able to stay in his barracks until I got there
