With this old game, Rockstar could have done more than this. If they added ray traced reflections and lighting...it would really be a big change.
I think that we already got global ilumination and shadows with the ray tracing, but reflections would have been the best, thats for sure. But i think its impossible cause of the old ass engine of gta 5
@@Dokm1n So they have RTGI and RT Shadows...but yeah, old engine is hard to add fancy stuff, maybe because of budget issues...since the GTA Trilogy is so bad.
Edit: I mean...they can just implement a new engine right? It's hard I know and cost a lot...but this is Rockstar we are talking about.

Best is fidel, real screen reflection of neon letters etc.When u put on rt the image reflecting is blurry, and u cant see the letters at all in glass.
Fidelity is good if you standing in one spot all game. Performance is for the ppl who plan on running, gunning and driving. You not gonna be worried about grass field details or highway ads when you chasing a victim @ 200mph

With 30fps things will blur out more when you move around, so 60fps makes more sense. And in an action game with fast car chases and chaotic shootouts I can't imagine getting more out of standing still watching textures than having more frames.
The game is very smooth and I can say that 30fps looks really clean in motion.

The Matrix “game” was a tech demo of a graphics engine that developers have JUST started using. Unreal 5 games will start releasing within the next couple of years, but it’s crazy talk to expect a decades old game to get remaster using a brand new engine that it wasn’t built on
So, 4K/ 30 vs. 1440p/ 60 is essentially what we’re looking at. Everything else looks pretty much the same. It would’ve been interesting to see a mode that was 4K/60 without raytracing, that stretched the LOD out to the horizon, added more people and cars and stretched their draw distance out to the horizon. Some higher resolution textures, real time lighting and shadows. As, the raytracing used in the game is so minor… That the only time you really see it is when you stop to look at reflections. Even then, they only stretch so far behind you.
Still, it is pretty impressive that they got that game running at 4K/30 with raytracing and I think, even more so at 1440/ 60 with lesser raytracing. Simply because, the look of the game is still on par with the best looking games that just came out. Very few open worlds feel as alive and grounded in reality. I’m still amazed, every time I fire it up. So much so, that I can enjoy myself playing it, sitting my character down in a field and watching the world go by. With the day and night cycle, weather and incredible lighting… it’s just amazing to stare at.
I always keep this game on my main Series X internal hard drive, because it’s not uncommon for me to get in the mood to just fire it up and ride around. I still have yet to finish the single player, in fact… I probably have only played 2% of the actual game… Because I always get so caught up, just walking or driving around and admiring the scenery. Probably have 40 hours in the game doing just that, if not more. I have yet to explore a lot of the map and especially underwater. I didn’t know till yesterday that there was a submarine. I still have a lot to do. The crazy part is, I’m still excited after all this time to play it. Which is the sign of a great game.
Has anyone else noticed traffic density in between the modes? I feel like in fidelity the roads are packed
fidelity follows high pc graphics settings. and i assume that means vehicle density is set as high as it can go.

I like how the rockstar devs added lots of puddles in gta 5, seriously puddles like this don't exist in real life, real life rain wouldn't be like this because rain water actually flows to the drain on normal designed roads

They are not even regular screen space reflections they are pre rendered and static they reflect nothing except environmental objects they don’t reflect cars or peds
I play this game on a XSX LG OLED C1 an I gota say the game look beautiful on PRT all the colors at night pop very good so I’m like mind blown 🤯 on how beautiful it looks
Great comparison video. Why some people upload comparisons with entirely different scenes i'll never know. This definitely shows there's a noticeable difference. I may choose fidelity this time around as most other games I usually go with performance.

@@broadcub6812 yeah you right. I just played a bit and performance RT is the way to go. So far all these next gen games have multiple options, but the best graphic modes aren't that much better looking than performance modes.
I use Fidelity in Story Mode, and PRT in Online, it’s a much better experience that way for me.

Any added detail with fidelity is lost when your moving though 60fps gives you a clear image all the time it's not like you just stay still absolutely no contest
I agree with Fidelity. Looks much nicer on an 82" TV. Way more depth. If I had a 65" or 120hz OLED then maybe Performance RT would be better. But with large screen I want all the details.

Performance rt is the best way. U get smoothness and good detailes. Its not worth the extra crisp to loose 30 fps.

furthermore raytraced reflections are applied only to scenery and not dynamic objects in both modes.

It probably uses the ray traced technology but reduces the quality of them by a lot so it's not 100% real time anymore (just like in 1/5 of other ray tracing supported games)
It does not have ray tracing. The reflexions on fidelity mode look horrendous, it's just the map being reflected (no cars, no players etc.) and it's not even well reflected.
@@Grimxxxx ray tracing is not just reflections mate. I just still wonder what is ray traced. Perhaps GI? or AO? or shadows? Or select window reflections? Like from skyscrapers? I'm waiting on DF to see what's going on.

After looking for like 10 minutes i finally spotted it. Instead of using an approximation to simulate diffused shadows (like PCSS) now that effect is entirely raytraced, so small artifacts like softening all nearby shadows that shouldn't will not happen anymore, this can be seen on 2:04 on the shadows casted by the palm trees and npcs that now are way better diffused... Fucking garbage
it seems that they installed a few mods to the ps4 game, optimised it a liitle bit and released it. At least they gave free the online
Actually it's using raytracing in both shots at 2.04, so you got that wrong. And using fidelity mode you also get raytraced reflections, this is especially noticeable at night time.

@@acurisur this game does not have Raytraced reflections. This game is just using cube maps. It looks better on fidelity because that is native 4k and has a sharper more detailed picture.
@@strker99 My mistake, I do own the new version but haven't played it yet. The game does have ray tracing but it seems to be just ray tracing on shadows like Shadow of the Tomb Raider had.

What they should’ve added to the single player that would make t worst the price upgrade and what I think would’ve been cool, is bring some of the online vehicles to single player at lower price, if they say “oh that would ruin the gameplay” this game been around since 2013 at this point we ALL played it as intended.
it's the same version that i play on my pc for many years ago, i see no diffirence, for the RT, i think only shadows are ray-traced which are not noticeable, i have pain for console players, on my pc i can change the graphic mod in 1sec and it was availabe since it was launched.

Draw distance is disappointing imo. I was expecting close to Spiderman Remastered level of detail and draw distance. Oh well I'll probably still upgrade for the load times.

GTA V is actually one of the Games where the higher Resolution is noticable for me probaly because it comes from a time where Anti Aliasing wasnt so good

Honestly you can't tell in this video the amount of detail between the 2. You have to play the game and just keep going between the 2 and you will see the difference. I've been doing that alot myself. Fidelity looks great but 30fps no thanks.
After viewing other TH-camr(s) you have GTA 5 Online since 2013 the PS5 or Xbox X Series version gave me a few major features that the old gen version could not which is the online mode where your created character can now select a session in the menu without leaving the current session on either solo mode session, invite-only session, crew session only, closed friend session, and public session real-time on the spot. And then there's HAO's workshop where you're given a fast but not suitable for track racing vehicle where you get these 5 exclusive vehicles in PS5 or Xbox X Series version and most of the cars are just Imani's Missile Lock Jammer yet all of the 5 vehicles regardless of there price will just be destroyed by 1 RPG missile, 1 Homing Missile, and 2-3 Explosive Rounds from a Heavy Sniper. I mean for the record a Toreador and Khanjali Tank is enough to destroy these 5 exclusive cars which is not worth the price at all.
So to those who wish to get 60 FPS with an RT + Performance enhancement yeah if you have the money and the device then go for it. Just remember you're still not close to beating an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X + RTX 3090 + NVMe SSD Storage with an 8K - 12K 360Hz display Monitor which displays a minimum of 300 to a maximum of 599 FPS both RT + Performance enhance already in a PC ever.
In Conclusion to console players that wanna see the 60 FPS + RT + Performance then please go for it and brag to your friends if they own such PS5 or Xbox X Series.
I both have the consoles like PS4 and Xbox 360 which is the old gen with my friends whom I played for since 2013 which doesn't have the money, which is poor like me and has also a potato PC like I do but is playing with fun each time of the weekends so yeah I'm sticking in the old versions.
In the end, it's clearly up to you if you wish to go on the next-gen with only a few people or friends that own a next-gen console then it's your call pal. And at the end of the day, we will all see who enjoys it most. When you port for example your old-gen account in GTA 5 to the new console you cannot return back to the old console version. Hope that makes sense and I hope you've chosen wisely with your decision(s).
For me I'm just gonna wait for a brand new rockstar game called GTA 6 if such is really developed since 2014 as what the leaks say.

1st u out your mind on your TV, make the black syper black but the words and letters not to bright either, once u finish fixing your tv, thennnn u start to fix HDR within gta ,then again. The black color just to the perfect black and everything else not to much paper white, or else your screen will look like people on Cyberpunk, where the screen literally looks white
Performance in my opinion doesn't look very good especially when driving fast and objects and textures pop in and i don't care about frame rate so i'll just stick with fidelity

Fidelity is just an added sharpness in visuals with only 30fps. Smoothness is more important to me than Visuals so I choose Performance RT.

Seriously. Why haven't Rockstar added a Police Mode yet? I know that GTA V is a game about being a criminal, but the game has been out for almost 10 years now. Imagine, imagine if they added a Police Mode where you could play as an LSPD or LSSD officer! Where you would be able to go on patrol, write tickets, create roadblocks, get warrents to search houses, perform Police chases and call for backup! The game is so perfect for that! There are so many real life animations too! There are so many people who wants it too! Look at the LSPDFR mods, they are pretty much the closest thing we can get at the moment. Unfortunately, because it's not Rockstar Games themselves, it's extremely buggy, glitchy and laggy and unrealistic in a lot of parts, because it's modders! And also, if they actually did add a Police Mode, they should also update the siren lights on the Police cars. Because the brightness of them is way too low! Not only that, when the beautiful Blue and Red flashing lights are placed on a street during nightime, there is pretty much NO color showing on the enviroment. The light doesn't even reach 5 meters! You almost can't even see them during the day in the Vanilla version. They should also add some more variety on the Police uniforms by adding more variety in the duty belts, the vests, the radio, the Police accessories, and so much more! Right now, the LSPD and LSSD Officers also have terrible uniforms! Here's why:
1. The Duty Belt: They have no pebber spray, no batons, no flashlights, no tazer, no handcuffs sticking out, no keys, and no variety in radio placement
2. The vest: First of all, when the Vanilla Policemen have their vest on, they for some reason COMPLETELY unequip their belts. How lame and unrealistic is that?!?! Also, there is no variety in them either. For example, the vests do not have extra ammo, no pencil, no extra taser, no radio, no extra pouches, and no green reflex version either.
3. The head clothing: There is no modern head clothing on them! There is no cap with the Police text or logo, and there is also no beanie of any type.
So, that is what i think. I think they should update the appearence of the uniforms and vehicles with more variety, and add a Police Mode. Hell, they could just make a standalone Police game! But as it stands, there are SO many Police related animations in the game files that are almost only ever seen in cutscene! This game could be THE best Police Simulator out there. And to those who say that you can just get LSPDFR, shur up. Not everyone wants or needs a $5000+ Computer, and also, as i said, it would be MUCH better if Rockstar themselves did it than modders. Please, MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

60fps modes look more cartoony to me. 30fps makes it feel more realistic, like I’m watching a video of something that happened. With the graphics being better I think it’s an easy decision to stick with Fidelity mode for me.

My friend and I just call fidelity mode, ps4 mode. frames so low it hurts your eyes and sends you racing back to the settings to re-equip Performance RT so fast you'd never know fidelity supposedly has the best gfx. I still don't see it in this vid that doesn't even have significant frame decrease

So fidelity only makes things seem clearer from far away. Not worth it in my opinion. I’d much rather play in 60fps. I played it and it is much smoother
I think fidelity is better on a larger screen. The more detail the better there. But on a PC monitor or a smaller TV, performance RT is the right move, personally.

i like taking car pics so ill use fidelity for taking the photos and performance rt for just playing and plus the game was free for online cant complain about it being free (sorry people on Xbox it really sucks that it was ps5 players that got it for free imo everybody should have got it for free )

I am using an 65" oled tv in hdr & I can't really spot any diffrence between the two except rt performance has some movement look on it, not sure if thats what people call opera or some name compare to fidelity,
To be honest I found rt performance better with graphics don't know why, and also can't feel no difference with the fps on fidelity nor rt performance because fidelity still plays smooth

I barely notice any difference from the ps4 version.. the submarine looks cooler coming out of water but thats about it lol at least it was free for me

60FPS is muuuch more important. Performance is better than Fidelity

I only use fidelity to show how awful 30fps is to someone. It's like clicking through a PowerPoint really fast. Performance mode is king.
For how old it is. Fidelity should be native 4k60Rt.
I think both XBS and PS5 have been sold a last gen updated console. Both struggle to do 4K 60fps with detailed graphics and esp. when using Ray Tracing. Both consoles seem mostly fine at 30fps esp if you want better graphics, lighting, detail, resolution...etc. Personally both MS and Sony should have just released a PS4 Pro and a Xbox One X with a SSD card - because that's what both consoles feel like, a last gen console with a faster internal storage.
