As a person who has been working in the gaming industry for a few years already, I have to say it has nothing to do with games, but it's a great way to learn new stuff. That's how I started and what led me to work as a technical artist in the end. Keep doing what you do, but stop thinking about Rockstar if you're considering it right now. Even if you were extremely good, companies like this won't hire you without any previous experience. Besides, making games is much different than this. To even be able to throw any assets in the level, you need to know how streaming works, what drawcalls are, PBR rendering, etc. Anyway, I really like your excitement about what you do, and I think it will lead you somewhere in the end. Good luck!

It's not only the quality of textures and materials, it's the lighting wich makes it so realistic. Fantastic work man. Hope Rockstar actually hires you.
Rockstar should hire him XD for what ? a poor quality render that looks like a game XD ? (btw. For people who don't know what it's about, THIS IS NOT A GAME this is an animated FILM that looks like a game) All his titles are just click-baits for young un-exp people.
@@KeepItReal337 I wrote this comment due to this sentence 'Hope Rockstar actually hires you.'I wanted to emphasise to him again that it was just an animated film, because I think he missed that while watching it. Why would Rockstar hire him ? Rockstar is not Pixar or Disney, who make animated films, this guy doesn't even model in 3D, he just buys or downloads free models and assets, this is totally unbecoming of a company like Rockstar. When it comes to the position of Level Desinger, his skills in shaping the world are at a low level; all he can do is copy what another Level Desinger has done. In conclusion, before you call someone a fool, think twice.
This has to be _the_ most photo-realistic Niko Bellic we're ever going to get, and if you took a still shot of literally any frame of this entire video, it would look like an actual picture. Even the way the npcs moved and looked was almost too surreal.
@@PSYMEDIC question: do you think he is actually playing the game, or he just simulated the retextured video? ,it's rendered only, not game buy asset, however, it's ok , nice rendered game !! congragulations!
Rockstar has to hire him; not even because of his skills, but more for his motivation and determination. Let his dream come true Rockstar, this guy deserves a chance.
All he did was render and use pre-made assets? I’m genuinely confused on what Rockstar would hire him for, they have people who make this stuff from scratch and on their own.
A real playable game takes a lot more effort than this. This is just building the shell. You'll require a whole another team to just optimize this to be playable. Not to mention play testing, fixing bugs, adding all the core game mechanics and whole lot of other things. It might seem effortless to build a game like this after watching this video but trust me it's not. This dude is insanely talented.
I can explain it to you very easily. This one guy makes graphics that look so good, right? Imagine what he would do with a team of people he could guide. Produce something pretty great right? Greater then what the current leadership team at Rockstar could do if they had equal numbers of people? Highly likely IMO. Now, who does the hiring over at Rockstar? There's a specific team his skills would land him on, who would make the hiring decisions for that team? Oh the same leadership team that he would immediately outshine? I think now you will understand how polluted and toxic corporate America is and why so many companies suck, people protecting their shitty asses. The best thing a young man can do is find a company that values his skills, and stay and learn with a another older man who can teach him how to deal with people.
It's impressive and realistic but he missed the point by not adding the recognisable Gta IV filter who makes this game different of other Gta's by giving him a kind of dark and more serious vibe
What I remember vividly from GTA 4 was the difference in vibe and feel of the Nico Bellic city, the Lost and Damned city, and the Ballad of Gay Tony city. The art style is so important.
4:38 I like the bus :D, its from my country Czech Republic. and final destination is station Holešovice in Prague. But very very good work man, keep going.
I'm surprised that this is the first remaster I see on a good quality. Normally, people on YT just create mods with rain, riding around the map at midnight and showing water on the floor. Keep it up, bro! It's getting fantastic!
Okay the photorealism is mindblowing. Also Niko doesn't look bad either, all he needs is the visible cheekbone. I hope Rockstar hires you bro, if not them then some other great promising game company.
Unfortunately this video is greatly misleading, and has nothing to do with in-game art. I would actually call it purposely deceitful and actually harming to legit game artist :/ You cant compare a movie render or cinematic and say look how much better this look than this video game... As a cinematic, this is poor/mediocre visuals and animation (by cinematic standards) think any special effect movie you like.. Its not to hate, but If he wants to work in cinematics, thats great, but word it as that, and compare it to other cinematics to get fair criticism or praise....But by calling it a remaster, or anything game related, is purely misleading, and to attract people who may not know or care the difference. This is the WORST way to have ANY game company take you seriously..Not just by rockstar, but anyone. It hurts the industry, hurts expectations put on actual game art, hurts everyone but this content creator. Unless hes actually trying to get hired by a game company, then its hurting him too
@@campersruincod6134 literally proving my point haha. This is specifically NOT what a remaster could ever look like.. its not to hate, but to clarify what he made is not related to game art or visuals. That shouldnt hurt anyones feelings lol I could have filmed a live action shot of people walking in new york and titled it, gta 4 remaster, for clicks and would make as much sense as this title.. and guess you wouldnt even know the difference XD or would say "its to show what it could look like with care taken to remaster it" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ if that makes sense to you, go ahead

Cyberpunk took 9 years with tremendous number of people, and all it managed to be a good graphics game . I think its not what we expect to be Im getting gta 5 vibe, which got a lot of money got a big map, a good graphic of its time but couldn't deliver good enough feature nor gameplay , storyline and its protagonists lore and impact was weak , everything in gta 5 was easy due to unrealistic abilities, three protagonists made the storyline even unconsisted thus previous gta bet the hell out of gta 5 . What we see now ? Gta 6 gonna have multiple protagonists just like 5 . Hence I think it might not be good as previous gta titles like 4 or SA , VC .

Seeing this guy wake up on his bed and decide he's going through great lengths just to attempt to remaster this masterpiece, quickly made me respect him so much. GTA IV is still one the best GTA Games in my opinion, and to see this game receive some recognition and respect until now truly brings a smile to my face. Liberty City is one of the most perfect GTA maps for exploring a real life city. I've never experienced a whole map that felt so real and alive as GTA IV's, being an almost accurate replica of New York City, and Rockstar is just good at making one city seem so much bigger than it really is, it's actually the most realistic map in terms of the vibe and feel of the atmosphere. I honestly had way more fun spending time around the map than I ever thought I would after playing in Vice City and Los Santos. Truly my most favorite GTA map.
@@agasangma9596 the driving physics is the most controversial part of GTA IV in the community. it can either be hated or loved. personally, i actually had a lot of fun driving in GTA IV, it 's one of the main reasons why I keep replaying the game, and i did say Liberty City is one of the most perfect maps for exploring a real life city, so driving only became more enjoyable for me and i had a lot of fun and had a great time playing. the physics may not be entirely realistic, but it is more on the realistic side, and this game takes patience for people to enjoy the driving because it also requires mastery and skill to be able to drive properly like we should closely to real life. i mastered driving in GTA IV, so i tend to slow down a lot more and control how fast i should go as to not crash as often, now you add the atmosphere and vibe of New York City in the game with all the buildings, taxis, and traffic, so now it just feels like driving in real life, and it's just a lot of fun. so it is a shame as some people just can't seem to enjoy the same stuff we find enjoyable in this game.
"Liberty City is accurate replica of NYC"??? Liberty City is so small compared to real life NYC... I cant feel NYC in Liberty City. The Division did a great job at replicating the city tho. Not 1:1 still, but good enough to fool my brain.
@@anovaancovaaccurate in spirit. It captures the vibe. I'm from Los Angeles and Los Santos did a great job capturing the different sides of Los Angeles even if it wasn't dimensionally accurate. It would be a pretty boring game if you had to spend 1.5 hours to get from vinewood hills to the airport like we do in real life.

Great looking concept; though I can only assume many game developers *could* create this, but it'd have no purpose as no hardware can actually run it comfortably enough to be a playable game.
What's "anything"? But no, obviously not. Imagine what a current gen $800 pc can do, that's what the new consoles will most likely look like, with certain concessions to make it cost less. It's always been like that. They're impressive in that way but not miracles.
OK let me tell you something, you did such a good job that as I had this video playing at 2x, my brain could no longer differentiate between you physically on Liberty Island and your creation. Let that is how good it looks.
Lets be real here guys and gals. I commend him for trying to reach the goal of working for R* but he's probably going to wind up making demo graphics for a trailer that a developer presents at E3, but winds up releasing something completely different.
GTAIV is my favorite in the series. The fact that you were able to do this almost completely, if not entirely, alone is phenomenal. Just imagine what an entire development team could do in a couple years or so! I'd love to see Niko Bellic return in a remaster or even REMAKE of this subversive & outstanding game. All the best to you.
This is just a prerendered cinematic. It has nothing to do with game development at all. In fac this could look even more realistic if he didn't intentionally try to make it look like a game

A lot of people don't understand what makes rockstar's games look good, it's not just supercars with ultra reflections and wet ground, its artstyle. It beats photorealism any day.
And what exactly is your definition of art style? From what I can tell Rockstar has mainly been trying to push (photo)realism, detail and high quality as hard as they can. Sure realism looks different anywhere else. A sunny technology center like San Francisco sure looks more colorful and brighter than a gothic european city like say Berlin, Paris or Rome. But Rockstar doesn't have a discernible art style. If you compare GTA V with for example Watch Dogs 2, mostly everyone will say both look very realistic and do a great at capturing the cities as playable maps.
It's like a hybrid realsim that I can't describe, it looks good without trying to hard. When you see these "remakes" or "gta 6 concept" videos people always use ultra reflective cars or ultra detailed props and texures that end up looking cheap and tacky, the "unreal engine" look. The GTA definitive edition is a perfect example of this, the game lost it's artstyle with the "improvements" they made, reflective cars in cartoony world - it conflicts.
@@tmarsk even tho gta 5 was beautiful, i dont think we've gotten a true photorealstic game yet. gta 4 looked more "real" to me than gta 5 because the dim depressing new york atmosphere is easier to pull off rather the the bright los angeles look. but rockstar is like pixar in a way where every project they put together is a major push to what everyone thought was possible in video games so gta 6 might be able to pull it off.
Amazing work. Whilst I can understand the desire to join a company like Rockstar, their processes likely won't be as creatively expressive. Maybe you thrive best when you have a project of your own and set your mind to it. Judging by the passion on display, I feel like you need your own team even though the prospect might seem daunting.
Good luck!

I will never understand how gaming companies don’t see dudes like this. One guy does what two teams can’t barely do.
This is just rendering. It's not actually playable. Big difference between the two.
Grow up. Making money is the motivation, not delivering a great game. That comes second to capitalism and the shareholders
Mostly because he's just using Unreal 5 engine which isn't the hardest thing to do if you used Unreal long enough.

Unfortunately this video is greatly misleading, and has nothing to do with in-game art. Truly my most favorite GTA map.
the only thing i didnt like about gta 4 was the driving
What
A lot of people don't understand what makes rockstar's games look good, it's not just supercars with ultra reflections and wet ground, its artstyle. It beats photorealism any day.
What program do you use to do this type of stuff ?

Dude, you have a unique talent. I myself wanted to do gaming designs to this degree. Glad you enjoyed the city and I hope you get your dream job
You’re amazing brother. I would play this game in a heart beat if it was out. That first person pov while driving was fucking insane too. Looked so good.
this took 8 hours to render, no wonder it looks good. would’ve been more impressive if this were actual gameplay of some sort of mod
1:13 yeah it's good but Niko has a slightly thinner face. The fact that it's a bit too wide makes him look like half East European, 4/10 American and 1/10 Mexican
The nose tho is really good cause it's the perfect big East European nose (trust me if I say that cause I'm also East European)
Being into modding myself doing some overhauls i can only imagine the time that has put into this. Amazing work!
How is it possible that rockstar is not hiring you after this extreme realistic and perfect work. Are they blind or what. As I think if they are not hiring you so they would be in a big loss. and I haven't seen any youtuber who have done this much excellent work.
Respect to your potential and work brother
SO ROCKSTAR HIRE THIS MAN.
GTA 4 has a distinct moody atmosphere. If this is what the game looked like, it would feel like such a contrast to what the themes are trying to convey. Grim
In addition, I think 4 is better.
New york the ultimate mood ;)
This looks amazing but the atmosphere of the game is completely gone now
ehhhh it just needs a reshade to muddy it up a little
Additionally- and by no means am I critiquing his work, it is good- just not… Liberty City. He really just recreated New York, especially Times Square. The ads and assets are essentially just irl Times Square. He should’ve integrated more of Liberty City, like replacing McDonald’s with a Cluckin’ Bell.
Impressive work, but to scale something like this to a full game and to be able to run it on an affordable gaming setup is another thing entirely.
Yeah and dude gave up on making the ads. Shows he quits when work gets tough. Great first impression….
he's not hired by anybody he's doing this on his own time, and what are you doing besides hating? exactly @@rogerrabbit616
@@rogerrabbit616also throws shade at the company. Does this obnoxious style of influencer douchebaggery enjoyed by kids only.
Just making a space and making everything shiny is not art.
You got to have lighting, sounds, interactions, believability.
This is just Time Square with modern graphic. Where is it even close to a remaster of GTA 4.
I am not hating on the guy. He got talent and he could/should work in game dev. But in this video he is just being annoying and overhypes what he did for kids content.
@@DailyShit. It's good that he throws shade at the company - no company is perfect.
They’re doin it wirh gta 6 looks like and far bigger than 5
This man alone can run the whole rockstar company and make games
Bro is better at making game grafics than rockstar. No offence rockstar.
This man makes me wanna stop making games and start making concepts. This looks super well made and fun. Good stuff!
i hope you get hired by Rockstar you would fit there with this dedication
But there's plenty like him though that work for rockstar what makes him stand out? They all can do this too they just don't bcuz of certain factors
All he does is grab assets and make an asset dump, CTRL C and V everything and these aren’t games these are renders. Learn about 3D modeling and this dude becomes pathetic and goofy as hell. It might look realistic but game developing is harder than making an asset flip
@@ghostlyn69 can you do better?
@@ruipirez5970 I can and I have. No asset flip, original high quality assets and is an actual game not a render
man wants to be hired by Rockstar and his resume is retexturing a roblox asset he bought for $60
I love seeing bus from my home town Prague just casualy driving at Time Square :-D
My guy waited literally till the last 3 seconds of the video to indirectly inform us that the entire video was prerendered and not actually a game running real time.
I thought it was pretty obvious it was prerendered? He even said its not playable early on.
@@ngubod16 not playable doesnt mean pre-rendered. It could also mean that its unfinished levels/scripts etc. The graphics come close to what to expect of Unreal Engine 5 Games or maybe GTA6
dude your crazy good at doing this, get yourself a team and make your own game brotha, i would play anything you put out %1000
Did you not get to the part where he said none of it is playable and it’s all rendered like a Pixar movie basically?
@Soetman when did the commentar ever mention about this being a playable game?
@@broreallysad when he said he remastered it. He didn’t say he rendered a shitty movie based on GTA IV
@@broreallysad and he keeps saying he wants to be hired by rockstar so why would he be working on non playable shit then. Rockstar would scoff at him I’m sure
