    The badge of Mercury on the petrol tank (Mercury being the messenger of the Greek Gods) is due Mercury being the emblem of the Royal Corps of Signals (British & Indian army). The Royal Corps of Signals is responsible for communications, including dispatch Riding (Indian army only) and the Enfield is used for this purpose.
    Little bit of trivia for you...... the badge of Mercury which is worn on the berret is commonly referred to as "Jimmy". How do I know all this I hear you asking?...... well I was in the UK Royal Signals for 12 years

      @@throttlecompany Just bought three of these - me, son and friend. I've been riding since 1971, and this is probably the most fun I've had since then! I've owned and ridden a lot of bikes, but make no mistake, this one is a blast, and affordable!
      In my case, we got the Classic 350 "Reborn" models. OTD, with all taxes, fees, etc, they were about $6500. I feel that they were a great buy! The fun we are having hasn't worn off one bit! Ride safe all!
      And FWIW, I'm the biggest of the three at 6'-4", 230lbs. We are all comfortable and you CAN'T go anywhere without getting into a long conversation over this bikes!

    That T P 28 is actually the sickest detail on the bike.... Back in the WW2 days British Royal Air Force used to airdrop these bikes and were meant to be used for offroading, that's why it had to have a low tire pressure of 28....that's Royal Enfield for you, love from India.. ❤

    The Indian Army Signals unit started in 1981 and this bike was launched in 2021 which is the 40th anniversary. That's why the tank has 40 written on it.

    US motorcycle manufacturers should be thanking Royal Enfield. These kinds of Bikes are great options for younger people and new riders that aren't able to drop 10 grand on a bike or don't want to the right away. They are perfect entry-level bikes or even a daily rider if you are just riding in the city, I wouldn't be surprised is, as they get more good press, you start to see more riders who eventually decide to purchase a Harley or Indian and only did so because they were able to start riding on a Royal Enfield. Well done, India well done.

    Hi Dylan, nice review. As an INT650 and Meteor 350 owner, I'd like to point out that these new RE bikes are set up tight and take a few thousand miles to fully break-in. They're good new but run so much smoother and more responsive with 3000 miles on the ODO! I'm impressed with the new Classic 350. It's well laid out component wise much like the Interceptor. 4 different variants in lovely colorways. I've seen them in person. Gorgeous bikes!

      Good to Know it will run even better at 3,000 miles since I only have 2,000 miles on mine so far! I bought mine in May,2022 from Motozilla in Warren, Ohio. They had to swap out the speedometer in September since mine was sticking from the get go! (they ordered a replacement in June at my first scheduled servicing). Took three months to come in!
      I purchased the waxed canvass saddlebags and standoffs (from India) in June and the only took ten days to arrive so don't know why the speedometer took so long (unless they were waiting for replacement parts from a resourced mfg?)
      The bags were removed in October and replaced with Rampage Products "storage" 5 gal. Jerry Cans ( after repainting from red to Desert Sand). I threw a six minute video on TH-cam explaining how I "found" a close color match since Royal Enfield (like many others), never release their color codes! Search "Jerry Can saddlebags on the 2022 Classic 350 and it should pop up on youtube.

    Hi, I own a new gen Classic and the motorcycle you are reviewing is Signals and it celebrates the Royal Enfield's long lasting commitment to the Indian Armed Forces. Initially Enfields around 60's and 50's were used only by the Armed Forces, back then people saw it as heavy duty motorbike and now company's MD MR. Siddharth Lal turned around the enfield image in eyes of average Indian Buyer. So yes, that's it and great review. Just for Info. I own Halcyon Green Dual Channel ABS variant and there is one minor difference in American variant and that is it misses Heel Shifter and that's about it Rest all is same.

    I bought a 2022 classic 350 I have lots of backroads and have been riding it to and from work running 60-65 and an occasional 70 is. Now and then. I start to feel slight vibration at 70 so I keep it around the 60-65 for about 20 miles on relatively flat road. I broke the motor in on back country roads for the first 350 miles took it easy and varied the speeds. I'm absolutely loving this bike. It's my second bike to own. My first being an old Honda 450 back when I was 19 now 44. This bike has excellent power to weight ratio. Feels very very balanced and just down right good looking. Perfect for cruising. And even a commute if you don't mind cruising at 65 it's quite comfortable at 50 but people come up on you kinda quick at 50mph in a 70mph interstate. Hence the 65mph I drive a semi truck all day that's governed at 65 so I'm used to it. I'd love to see these bikes go absolutely viral here in the USA I took it to cruze night and everyone drooling 🤤 over the bike. Mine is a light blue but called grey? Maybe like a light slate grey. Matches my skoolie which the bike will ride on a rack on the front of the bus. And be another transportation when traveling in the bus. Now I'm tempted to get saddle bags strap in and travel just with the bike and a tent I've been seeing in the neighborhood of 90 to 100 miles per gallon. Just cruising the backroads on 91 octane. I fill it up ride 100 miles and fill again and only takes about a gallon. Mind blown. I got extended warranty and everything they wanted to up sell me and the price was still great. Phone mount came in today so more videos to come in the future.

    Hi Dylan. I agree on your theory that RE developed the Classic first. Classic has always been the breadwinner for RE so they had to take every new development with the utmost care if they didn't want to piss off the Classic's buyers. And that is why they launched the Meteor 350 first, with the same engine platform and same frame. RE wanted to know how the buyers/enthusiasts and critics respond to the changes. And we know Meteor 350 has been very well received by everyone. Hence RE knew that they were on the right path and soon launched the new Classic 350.

    I own the same bike in marsh grey 2023 model but with black seats instead of brown. I hope you would like this info that these are actually special editions named as signals editions because in India, we have corps of signals which is generally referred as to the intelligence department within the Army. It was established in 1911 under British Raj but it got recognitions after the Independence in 1981. Thus when classic 350 reborn was launch by RE in 2021 they paid tribute to them by launching signals editions thus 40 is written in one side off the tank which represents their completion of 40 years and other side symbolizes the speed which pretty similar to the real logo of corps of signals. This is setup is pretty similar to previous gen classic 350 airforce styles blue bike where 29 was written. The stencil number you see on the tank is unique to each bike which is produced. And the number TP 28 written on the back fender referred to the tyre pressure that the army had to maintain when the bikes used to be dropped from the plane during WW2 but in the modern time it is more likely torque produced 28 though it doesnot actually produces 28.

    • @siddharthaxX
      @siddharthaxX ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 6'1"-6'2"ish and have no problem riding a classic. You might have to bend your legs a little bit if they are longer than avg. Otherwise it fits perfect.

    TP 28: These bikes are air dropped in War zones and were used for off-road use which required a lower tyre pressure of 28 psi.

    • @throttlecompany

      Depends on what you need. The top speed is limited to 74 mph. But up until there it’s fine.

      Would a INT650 be more suited for our highways?

    • @arunadissanayake3687
      @arunadissanayake3687 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@throttlecompany thank you for your kind reply. I’m a huge fan of the 350cc classic style , if 74mph is the most comfortable speed, it would be hard to safely overtake, anyhow , to my understanding, 350cc would do perfectly fine in suburbs and towns. I think 650 would be a better fit for U.S highways for safe riding.

      I’ll take a used one once someone brings one back because they’ve outgrown it. Add WWII type handlebars though. I can’t believe they missed that. With those handlebars the bike would truly be “vintage.”
