Day One: Benton Mackaye Trail
July 13, 2022 Big Creek to Laurel Gap Shelter
Sunsets and Highlander head out for an eighteen-day SOBO trek of the 290-mile BMT. A twelve-mile first day starting at the northern terminus at Big Creek. The first 6 miles are a grueling climb to Mount Sterling. This is followed by a much more mellow 6 miles to Laurel Gap Shelter.
