Jimi was in the 101st Airborne Division, a paratrooper unit. He completed his training in 8 months, with 26 jumps and earned his paratrooper "wings". His performance of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock was part tribute to his former unit which was fighting in Vietnam at the time.

Jimi Hendrix was one of the most epic performers in history. He was like Little Richard, Elvis Pressley, James Brown, Jim Morrison and Sly Stallone all rolled up into one incredible ball of exciting energy and electric magnetism. He was surrounded by the wrong people who did not appreciate or nurture his other-worldly talent as a superb guitarist, gifted songwriter and infectious singer. The world did not show him the honor he was due. That's why we lose our precious gems so quickly. We let our Godfather of Blues and Rock slip through our fickle fingers! 🔥🔥

@@elwin38 As I mentioned elsewhere on this thread, Jimi did NOT die of an overdose. None of the drugs found in his system should have killed him. The coroner revealed that a trace of an unknown substance was found in his body but seeing as how an autopsy was done several days after his death, he was unable to detect what it was, as the compound had dissipated too much by that time. There are a lot of discrepancies between the official police report, ambulance workers, and the coroner. It is very apparent that the police deliberately distorted what Hendrix was into, calling him a “overdosing wild man…” and a “violent, hard drinking, drugged up sex maniac”. Hendrix had, by this time, begun to denounce hard drug use. To many people who have investigated the case they (the police) engaged in a coverup.
His manager was a member of MI6 (British intelligence) and had connections to the Mob, FBI, and CIA. He admitted to Hendrix’s former road manager while drunk that he had ordered Hendrix’s murder. Hendrix was beginning to associate with The Black Panthers and other radical groups prior to his death.

Lithofayne met Jimi at an orgy- this was the 60's. Also one of the guys she was regularly involved with at the time was Sam Cooke. Jimi and Sam knew they shared a woman. lithofayne would try to get Sam to help Jimi out in his career- I think she managed to get him on a tour with Sam, but generally Sam acted like Jimi didn't exist. And Jimi never referred to Sam by his actual name he always called Sam "What's his name" when talking to Lithofayne (because of course Sam and Jimi never talked to each other).

When Jimi came onto the scene in London he blew all the other musicians away! You have to remember Jimi was left handed and there were no left handed guitars at that time. He learned how to play his guitar upside down. Every guitar legend and iconic rock band said he was other worldly. Eric Clayton was annoyed when Jimi came to town because back then, Eric was revered as the best. People use to paint graffiti stating Eric was god. So there was some sour grapes when Jimi showed up. You had greats like Peter Townsend (The Who), Paul McCarthy (The Beatles) and Clayton saying to see Jimi play would blow your mind. The things he did with his guitar was amazing. These were not tricks. Mick Jagger stated that you can tell when Jimi was happy or mad, you could hear it in his playing. People would say, it was like Jimi could see the music and he would daydream a lot because he could hear all this wonderful music in his head and try to play it on his guitar. Eric and Jimi became friends. The day before Jimi died, Eric came to his last show because he found a left handed guitar and wanted to give it to him but never got the chance. Jimi is the best there was. No telling what he could have mastered if he lived.

Mine too. I like to sing it sometimes. One day years ago I was sitting at the lakefront here in Chicago singing it. I noticed when I was singing, dragonflies were flying all around me. And when I paused singing, they'd go away. It happened about 3-4 times as I sat there noticing and testing to see if it was really happening like that. I chose to believe that was a sign that dragonflies are my totem animal/insect. (And, no, I'm not a weirdo, LOL) :-)

Hello family, I want to set the record straight. I'm a relative of Larry lee who was one of jimi's closest friends. Larry met Jimi back in the Nashville days when he was attending college at Tennessee state university. Larry was in the game writing songs for Stax Records while he was in high school back in Memphis. He told me one day he was looking for a guitarist he could practice with so he ran into Jimi and they became running buddies. In the beginning they had a band called the king Casuals. The band was off and on so they would play with other big names whenever artists needed musicians for hire. Larry had connections so Jimi would get gigs which got him a lot of popularity. Jimi became bored of chitlin circuit and moved to New York. He wanted the band to come but going to New York was really a big step so taking the risk of being stranded they stayed behind but he also stated that whenever he made it he would reunite with the old gang and that's what he was leaning towards during the Woodstock era he moved Larry and Billy to live with him in Upstate New York. He use to tell me a lot of stories of that time which is part of a missing page in this Video but it is what is. I was told that Jimi was being monitored by the FBI because of his political views and not only that he was definitely being ripped off by his mob connected manager. He was murdered for sure and it benefited both Parties especially Mike Jeffery. My opinion is monika handed him over due to her jealousy and that's how he was caught. Jimi never used heroin family my cousin never saw him do nothing smoked weed, took acid and cranked good whiskey.....Rip Jimi and larry

Thank you for doing this vid. I'm a huge Jimi fan. With that said I've got a few comments:
Jimi was NEVER happy with the band, The Experience, who felt never got what he was trying to musically They frequently sided with the same record company (and Michael Jeffrey) that often tried to tamper with his vision.
He was absolutely NOT violent towards women and was, in fact, a feminist. His former girlfriend, Katy Etchingham, publicly attacked the Hendrix biopic, "All Is By My Side", which depicted him as beating women, dismissing it as outright lies. The filmmaker himself admitted that the element was added to the storyline for dramatic purposes.
Jimi was planning to leave his record label and start his own, even luring musical colleges like Miles Davis to join his label. This happened right before he abruptly died.
