To be honest, Drill Sergeants can be intimidating when it comes down to business, but they are some of the most chill people in the Army. Love your videos.
I think most everyone enjoys getting to see the hands-on parts of your days when you interact with the trainees or other Drill Sgts, etc (when allowed) but I'm just as happy with your videos that are just you talking about the how & why of things currently happening during BCT or even with you are doing personally!

i got out in sept. we juhh didn’t do combatives everything else was the same. except treadwell tower. it was broke so we juhh had to do the small 10 tower

That camera makes it look very light even at night. I know when I went through basic it was dark at "lights out" and dark when I they rousted us out in the morning. It was so long ago, I don't even remember the times. I like seeing it from the side of the DI.
It depended where you were/the time of year. I was at BCT and AIT during the summer so it was brighter at 2100 when it was time to go to bed. Well I finished AIT in September so it was getting a tiny bit cooler in the mornings and it was getting darker a tad bit earlier in the evenings

I went to OSUT in Ft Knox , Ky from 94-97 and was stationed there as well , loved it , got out of the service and went back in 07 did processing in ft Sill Oklahoma, the AIT IN WIND SANDS NEW MEXICO , AND SANTA FE NEW MEXICO, THEN BACK AT KNOX FOR AIT , . AND I LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT WENT TO BASIC TWICE …. LOVED IT . THEN MOSUL,IRAQ FOR 15 months loved it to …. hooooaaa ..
When we got to AIT(Split Ops, Infantry here)(E 3-54 Ft Benning July 10th, 2020- September 25th-2020) we never had to sanitize the bay every single morning. It looks like the cycle only has 2 platoons and it's weird seeing them with camelbaks for PT instead of canteeens.
How long did it take you to remember everything? I got DA selected, so I’m assuming that I’ll get a school date eventually. .. is there a specific book I can buy to study?
Tommy T fast track your promotion to E-5 by doing all of your online training required for it. Once you hit E-4 keep a good PT score and you’ll get CPL. after some time slots to go to BLC will open up. Request to go to BLC. A good pt score is crucial for going to school.
I'm going to say like everything else in the military, you apply for it. When I was in they were training drill instructors at Ft Knox, but I think they trained them in other locations as well. We saw some trainee drill instructors when I went through PLDC (Primary Leadership Development Course). These days, things might have changed but there are similarities to when I was in the Army.
Drill Sergeants are just as human as everyone else. They hate having to deal with B.S. too. Fort Leonard Wood, 1996. Echo 3/10. SFC Williams, SSG Queja, SSG Harper-Hall.
Do recruits get their gear (PT Uniform, running shoes, ACU and boots) and paperwork done the first few days. I'm asking because my recruiter told me to double the suggested packing list.
with covid making it less strict, it really just depends on what brigade you’re in. i was in delta 3-34 and even though there were some things restricted like the shark attack, they were still pretty strict and acted like we didn’t have a pandemic most of the time. but honestly basic wasn’t that boring, it sucked not getting the full experience like everyone else has but it still shaped all of us into soldiers at the very end
Yes it is, but you will be fine. Listen to your Drill Sergeants, don’t feel bad if you get yelled at, and lastly, don’t try to bring attention to yourself.
What are the requirements for basic during covid? When I went we had to pass a pt test and got smoked ALL the time. With covid I heard there is no pass or fail for the Pt test at basic with covid, is this true ?
I say if u can't teach um basic in 4 weeks there's something wrong FFL does it in 4 weeks. something about grabbing that head and holding it under water till it wants to live makes a big difference in attention spans & just how god blessed the private to achieve such a great undertaking. this ain't bible camp! its war. real life and death. real "grab the body bags" type of life. day 1 should start off at 3 am & get a good run in while the Marines are asleep get back to barracks by reveille. do pt & clean till formation and PT. then breakfast at 7, from there u learn to shoot and march and run ... this is how the army use to do it in 8 weeks time. hell i thought these generations were getting smarter, more effiecent , quicker in the brain or some shit, but they seam weak, like the set online all there lives, doing nothing for themselves or some shit... LOLOLOLOL's it's like there the god dam Vietnam protester's grand kids or some shit... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA apple don't fall far from the tree they say....

I went to Fort Leonard Wood for OSUT and almost everybody had camelbaks. I only saw one company use canteens during my time there.
