    There are too many great things about Charlie's videos to list them all. For me the top one is his humility and openness about mistakes. It's easy to get frustrated with yourself for mistakes but knowing a pro like Charlie also makes them is comforting and fixing is never as painful as the prospect seems. Thank you Charlie!

    • @CharlieDIYte
      @CharlieDIYte  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Can't thank you enough for that. Yep, I'll always show the mistakes because that's the reality of DIY. I'll get pilloried for them on the other social media channels that I feel obliged to post on but YT is where my proper audience is, and I'll keep it real for as long as you guys appreciate it. Thanks again. It's not easy doing this stuff but I can't tell you how valuable your comments are in incentivising me to keep making the content.👊

    Hi Charlie, well done you got there, looks great. You can get a fine pin gun then you barely see the pin holes, Makita battery gun is the best tool I've bought in years. Invest in a 1/2 inch collar router with a 35mm Trend blum hole cutter and leave it set up, saves loads of time as depth and 22mm in is always set up. Dead flat varnish is a good option over that dark paint. I use Hafele rechargable motion lights about 120mm x70mm they are so quick n easy to fit. Glue the rails and not the door panel that way you can make sure the glue is where it needs to be. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks Paul - some wonderful info in there - thanks for sharing. Funnily enough I drilled one hole with my DeWalt 1/2 inch router and it was too fast - burnt the hole and then I Googled and learnt you're not meant to use forstner bits with routers. What's your take on that?

    Superb job, Charlie. This project build has been a total triumph. The floor to ceiling wardrobes maximise space & the navy blue shaker style doors are modern yet timeless. So much love, energy & thought has gone into this (not forgetting blood, sweat & tears). Well done! If I want to uber picky, I would have put in a longer inside mirror & a rear view mirror on the inside of the opposite door so you & your other half can see your full outfits front & back & top to toe. Good for your insta photos too but that’s just me! You should be very proud of yourself. Amazing job.

      When you're making things completely from scratch into an odd shaped space, there really is no manual or rule book, particularly if you don't have a totally concise end plan and have done it before and encountered all these problems you need to solve. For me, it's watching Charlie deal with these hurdles, and deal with them in a brilliant way that makes the series and the wardrobes themselves an absolute triumph. Also a great way to train your DIY brain for when you don't have the skill set, tools and huge workshop to bail you out.

I'm about to start the fitted wardrobe project - after my Dad's mismeasuring the first time round! 🤦‍♀Anyway, onwards and upwards! After plenty of measuring and remeasuring checks, we are having the MDF pieces cut to size by our local timber merchants (as we don't have the best cutting tools for the wardrobe carcasses) and making sure we take each step of the project carefully, with slow and (correctly!) measured steps!! 😄 It might take a while but we will send you an update when the project is complete.

    An enormous amount of work, but I'm sure a joiner would have rushed your £15-18k at least for these wardrobes. The best part is that you included all the mistakes which i think makes these videos all the more informative and engaging. Brilliantly put together, making these videos can take as long as doing the work itself, nothing but admiration for what you've done here and the results are simply fantastic.

    All I can say is wow, and well done, video is done to perfection, the "handy man" work is out of the world. Big shout out from South Africa. You are true inspiration.
    May be I have not listen properly, but are you a carpenter by trade or just a brilliant DIY person. Thank you for all the detailed info in metric in your link. Gives me the courageous to finally redo my small kitchen, you are a magician and showed everything needed to be done. Thanks for that.

    I've just done some wardrobes for a friend for the first time ever. I stumbled on your videos last night at about 10pm and watched them all back to back to see what I could have done better. Now that you've given me confidence on how to do it properly, I'm going to tackle the beast at home and try to fit our wardrobes which we've been talking about for the past 9 years. Only thing is, is that I want to fit a set of rustic style sliding doors. Do you have any videos for that? Cheers for sharing your work. Fantastic, thanks dude
