Hi I retired out of Fort Irwin back in Sep 2016. A tip for better seal for the upper part of the doors: With the door open, BEND the top part inward a little. When the door closes the top will contact the body first then as the lower half closes it will put pressure on the upper part of the door. Same can be done for the bottom part of the door.
Finally someone converting a 2d to a 4d, not vice versa. It was hard to find a video. I say as far as all them people turning 4d to 2d, it should be kept in 4d form but turned into a quad coupe. Modify with longer fromt doors and narrow rear suicide doors. That way you have something that's still practical. I am not a fan of 2d
Where do you buy all of the parts for your humvee? Looking to buy one just want to know where to get parts for them thank you! Your videos are awesome!
Hello, I just got a Humvee two door truck. If I could ask you some tech questions later on or advice that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good video on 4 door conversion
Where did you end up finding the parts? Looks like my EUC documents will be processed much sooner than originally anticipated. I'm excited to start finding the parts and working on it this winter. Love the videos. They are very informative, excellent work!
I just saw the Collins Sticker on the Datsun, and realized who you were haha this is a really small world. This is Brett Collins By the way, I really liked the video Dakota!
I would not use soapy water or any water to install the top into that track. It will stay wet in there and could maybe cause rot later. Maybe use something like baby powder instead
I just bought my side rails and bows. But have no idea what kind of hardware I needed. Looks like just a couple bolts. Any idea what size bolts you put into your side rails and bows to side rails?
Hi there I like your videos I just started watching it today. I am obsessed with hummers and I am looking to buy-one for myself. Could you get any advice where to get one? Thanks
The Modern Adventurer I'm not too sure, I know you can open up the fuel pump & turn it up a bit. I almost feel like they could be governed by the transmission. Im not too sure.
DakotaXPRO Ok, my dad and I are looking at buying one. He used to drive a 18 wheeler all over the country and has came across them doing the standard 45 in a convey. He has also seen them doing well over 70 if not into 80 mph. Said it took him for ever to catch up to them. I'm assuming they are governed somehow so they can get from point a to point b without stopping for fuel. They're not meant to go fast anyhow, but would be nice to bump it a bit...
Beautiful~~~ I have a question I'm from Miami is impossible to register a car here in Florida? I saw you have a Florida tag , can you drive on the street? or only off-road?
Have you got this road legal yet? I've read its quite a hassle with a bunch of paper work. In some states currently your only able to get an orv registration.
hello team and good morning over there. I have a wish. That bloody part of steel in position just there where my backside is ending. And i am a tall men. I will not die because of that, but maybe there is a legal change to make driving more comfortable. I dont care about other passenger. Ma question: " is there any possibility to move or mayby also it exist a seat kit to arrange the sitting position of the driver to move the seat al little backward. And if it only 3 inches, thats enough. The metall part connect the middle tunnel with the "B-Säule". (Iam German sorry). Can i remove that part and fit it simply some inches to the rear? Its welded i Know. But its my profession. Of couse to make it equal the other side i have to do it too. Or is that prohibited for the military version. I say many HUMMER H1 where its quite removed all. They can move the fullsize seat in any position....I hope my english is understanding enough. Once more. I am looking for a possibility to move the driver seat three inch to the back. I would very pleased of a reply. In advance .....thank you ...best greetings from Thomas Pohl , germany, hamburg bye.
I’m going next week to a government Auction the have a Humvee it’s 2 door tho so can all 2 doors be 4 and can you help me like I don’t lf it’s good are it’s bad are anything about them
NOW IN ENGLISH Hey man, I'm Brazilian !, my dream was to have a hummer camouflaged too, but here we have a lot of bureaucracy to get a hummer, even more being H1 and camouflaged, does not exist here. :( :( :( :( :( My dream was to be able to live in U.S just to enjoy this car!... Hei Dakota, Do you have Facebook? I wish I could follow you.
Hi I have a question I'm 13 and For some strange reason I REALLY want to drive a humvee for a first car, but my mom is worried I would spend way to much on gas, I just wanted to know how much you need to fill it up per week and the average cost of gas a year, if you are reading this thanks. Love the videos
depends on how much diesel is where you live. Here in Australia, diesel is typically more expensive than petrol but the prices are very, very consistent. Sometimes petrol will be $1.40 or more/L while diesel stays at a steady $1.27/L so for me a diesel may be more expensive depending on how I drive it. Where you live diesel may be cheaper though. I did ask DakotaX about the fuel economy of this particular humvee, he says in city driving it averages 15 mpg, which is actually slightly better than my 94 toyota camry station wagon lol. A goddamn military vehicle designed to run off a never ending supply of government gas has better fuel economy than my station wagon, top kek. Also, these things usually have runflats installed, so when you get a flat tyre you can still keep going on until you can get to a place for repairs. This is useful if you're getting shot at and need to gtfo, but in civvie life its only really useful if you do lots of rough off roading and you know you're gonna/wanna get your tyres rekt. The problem with runflats is that they are pretty damn heavy and contribute to unsprung weight. Higher unsprung weight = better ride comfort, worse performance. Lower unsprung weight = better performance, worse ride comfort. Personally, I'd go for beadlocks as they're lighter therefore using less fuel and if you're getting a humvee in the first place, ride comfort isn't going to be high on the priority list. Runflats are also a real pain in the ass when it comes time to change your tyres. If you're not too heavy footed with the accelerator you should be alright though. Try not to brake unnecessarily so that you don't waste fuel as well.
edbo10 wow that's a big load of information, I do live in the US and I have no idea how I'm gonna drive yet I may be a happy go lucky lunatic or be a kid who drives a big ass military truck who knows right now
the things are a bitch to maintain but thankfully there's technical manuals all over the net I really wanna get one too though, then go on a road trip hehe, maybe even take it out to a racetrack, nothing more entertaining than racing a vehicle that ain't meant to be raced :D
edbo10 The HMMWV’s were meant to be a low maintenance vehicle. Sorry I don’t think they would be very hard to maintain unless you just have a shitty one.

Brett Collins no way! You make some awesome stuff man! I am using your 2JZ to Z32 transmission adapter and flywheel. What a small world haha!
I would not use soapy water or any water to install the top into that track. It will stay wet in there and could maybe cause rot later. Maybe use something like baby powder instead

Do u know if these engines are governed for max fuel economy, if so how do you open it up for slightly higher speeds.
The Modern Adventurer I'm not too sure, I know you can open up the fuel pump & turn it up a bit. I almost feel like they could be governed by the transmission. Im not too sure.
