    Had your tunes on my 12 F-150 EB and was very impressed. Was that a full performance 93 octane run there with the ranger. Those were substantial gains. Great job.

    Glad to see you keep Ford's OAR feature to automatically adjust timing/boost & more etc for varying elevations, fuel octane/quality etc. Alot of major "tuners" out there don't do this! Also known you've been in the game of tuning these Ford EcoBoost motors since the 2010+ Ford Taurus SHO's, so literally tons of experience with these Ford platforms! I now have a 2020 Ford Ranger XLT Super Cab 4wd with currently a Mishimoto cold air intake (with dry filter), an AWE Tuning 3 inch stainless steel exhaust and a Mountune heavy-duty, high performance intercooler to address the "heatsoak" issues all these EcoBoost motors suffer from. Do look very forward to getting my ride "tuned" as I loved your Livernois tune I bought used for my previous 2010 Ford Taurus SHO AWD sedan. I assume if I can bring my truck to you in Michigan you're also able to "custom dyno tune" for my existing modifications etc? If that's possible, in my opinion "custom" tunes for each individual vehicle always offer better end results over "canned" or email tunes!

    • @LivernoisMotorsports
      @LivernoisMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You definitely could bring it in, but honestly, the beauty of ecoboost vehicles is that if your calibration is truly developed properly, the calibration accounts for all potential mechanically variables and adjusts for them automatically. Now, more in depth mods like direct port methanol, or other items would necessitate custom tuning, the light bolts on you have are already part of our tuning approach and the calibration will adjust automatically.

    • @kriswinger9391
      @kriswinger9391 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LivernoisMotorsports, awesome to hear. I also loved the revised, crisp shifting on my 2010 Ford Taurus SHO. Great to see you got rid of the annoying "skip shift" on the 10r80 10 speed automatic! With your My Calibrator device can you also do data logging? Good you can get multiple custom "tunes" for all fuel octanes instead of "MUST use 91+ octane" on the Ford Performance Ranger tune. Have you run the Ford Ranger down the quarter mile strip with your Ranger performance tune?

    • @LivernoisMotorsports
      @LivernoisMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kriswinger9391 Our device absolutely is capable of datalogging, yes. As for 1/4 mile, we have had a ton of them make runs, absolutely.

    • @kriswinger9391
      @kriswinger9391 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LivernoisMotorsports, was curious how good what ET they ran in the quarter mile on your premium 93 octane "performance" tune? My Ranger is only a standard 4wd (non-FX4) so smaller 255/65/17 tires on my XLT and only a Super Cab so somewhat lighter than some Ranger models. I've heard "tuned" 2wd only models can have traction issues when trying to run good times!

    • @LivernoisMotorsports
      @LivernoisMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kriswinger9391 We definitely can confirm this, traction is an issue, but then of course the added loss of using 4WD in a drag environment robs power too, but usually 1-1.4sec 1/4 mile improvements have been reported.

    • @LivernoisMotorsports
      @LivernoisMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By Ford's written letter of the law, it can. However, most people report back that after a conversation with their dealership, they said it would not be an issue with our tuning. So we always recommend talking to your dealer first, and letting them know what you plan to do to see if they will.

    Can you use this tuner just for 87 octane? If so, what type of horsepower and torque are we looking at? And does it improve fuel mileage?

    • @LivernoisMotorsports
      @LivernoisMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do offer an 87 tune, but being these are intended, even stock, to run 91+ octane, the gains are much, much smaller as they have to reduce power to allow the safe use of 87. so we see 5-10hp maximum vs 87 numbers (factory numbers are on 91 octane). As for fuel economy, while we do not market it as an item that improves economy, we have had most customers report an improvement. With that said, the better the octane of fuel, the better the gains for fuel economy.

      Livernois told me via phone call that they've not tested the Ford Ranger models tuned or stock in 1/4 miles runs. I'd say very low 14 to high 13 second range knowing how most of these trucks run stock on the OEM Ford calibration. I had a Ford Taurus SHO with a Livernois tune & loved it! My Ford Ranger is a 2020, 4x4 Super Cab model in XLT trim. No off-road package, smaller stock 17 inch rims/tires. I've already added a Mishimoto full-sealed cold air intake with "dry" non-oiled synthetic cone filter, an AWE Tuning 0FG 3 inch stainless steel exhaust system as well as a Mountune Performance heavy-duty, high performance intercooler so really looking forward to getting the Livernois Motorsports tune on my truck very soon!
