That really surprises me, Ryan. To be THE fave B-M song is, for me, impossible to pick for one thing. But to be number ONE without Saiki and MIku's lyrics and vocals or melody, other than guitar riffs, is striking. I'm not saying it's bad or anything. Just... striking -- especially coming from a singer, songwriter, player and performer. But like you said once, you usually don't incorporate many things you like to hear in music with your own playing. So maybe an instrumental is a reasonable choice.
Ummm... "BLACK HOLE" is crying in the bathroom...

BAND MAID is celebrating its 9th year of formation. BAND was formed by a girl who came to Tokyo from a local city of Japan to become a singer when she was about 19 years old. Five unique and talented girls gathered. The members have not changed, and they are continuing their efforts to improve their playing ability. They are constantly writing new songs and cool songs. Three new songs were released at the end of October.
BAND MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs.
1 Thrill : The first music video that saved them from dissolution. Classic rock 2014
2 Sense : The theme song of the anime "Platinum End". Dramatic, fast hard rock with a classic intro. 2021.10
3 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock
4 Different : First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is Log Horizon 3rd season. 2020.12
5 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Saiki and Kobato vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful.
6 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence
7 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic. Beautiful ballad. 2021.02
8 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile.
The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best.
9 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die.
10 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016
11 Secret My Lips & Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day .
12 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused.
13 RINNE : High-speed rhythmic heavy rock, inspired by the Japanese horror movie "RINNE : Reincarnation".
RINNE (Reincarnation) is also found in Eastern thought and Buddhist thought.
14 onset : Instrumental song for lead singer Saiki breaks, their great playing power and harmony.
15 Before Yesterday : Record of the first overseas performance, Sakura-Con in Seattle 2016. Melodic Rock with great lyrics.
16 Choose me : An insert song of the concert scene the Netflix movie KATE, they appeared as BAND MAID. Cool rock song.
17 Dragon Cry : The only song produced by Tony Visconti.
It's not their lyrics, but it sings about the future of human society and the earth. Great Heavy Classic Rock .
18 After Life : A homage to the maid cafe and band formation where Kobato worked. BAND-MAID Hard Rock .
19 Corallium : The song that Saiki wrote all the lyrics for the first time. Hip pop style dancing hard rock.

Band-Maid are just 10/10 in every segment: composing, execution, lyrics, fun factor, overall effect on audience.
Every song you hear, you think it cannot possibly be any better. Then they play the next one, and somehow it *is* better.

Kanami is brilliant at composing songs that seem familiar but at the same
time fresh and new, but always distinctly Band-maid. This band never fails to
make you smile, another great instrumental showcase is "without holding back " OMV

Yes, Band-Maid is a fantastic hard rock band with jazz, soul, funk influences; they are versatile musicians. Japan is the country with more all-female rock bands in the world.
I guess that eventually you’re going to react to Lovebites, an outstanding Japanese all-female (mostly) power metal band, out of this world. Some people say that rock is not dead, it just moved to Japan.

Yeah, the instrumental songs showcase their skills, but they also use them to give Saiki a break. She once developed polyps on her vocal chords and required surgery.

While Band-Maid are always best live, their MV's are all really impressive too. I'd recommend the MV's of 'Blooming' ( th-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/w-d-xo.html ) and 'Daydreaming' ( th-cam.com/video/RCaeUkrItyY/w-d-xo.html ) in particular, though I've yet to discover a bad song by them, whether it's an MV, live or acoustic. Oh, and if you like Saiki's vocals, then try 'Wonderland' live ( th-cam.com/video/x4hxLeHbqZo/w-d-xo.html ). They also have the deepest and most interesting lyrics too (all written by the unfeasibly, ridiculously beautiful Miku, founder of the band and rhythm guitarist). Kanami, the lead guitarist, composes the music and likes to push all the others hard with her intricate and perfectly crafted music. Nice to see your obvious appreciation of THE best Rock band on Earth.

You mention at 2:33 playing the strings with her fingers ; that's called tapping. It's a pretty easy technique to learn, and the tapping that Kanami does here isn't difficult. It's more about her guitar playing the "vocals" of the song while Miku's chunky guitar sound fills up the sound underneath and a backing track is thrown in every now and then. Tapping can be made more difficult in various ways and at higher speeds, such as in "Holy War" by LOVEBITES when Midori and Miyako do eight-finger tapping in unison along with Miho doing one-hand tapping on the bass guitar. Tapping sounds cool - I've always been a sucker for a good tapping part - but it's been a staple of rock and metal since Eddie Van Halen popularized it in the 70s and 80s. Moreover, since Kanami is a pretty good pianist, tapping is probably a bit easier for her than non-pianist guitarists.

I have no idea how this BM react got by me but it did. I almost spit my beer through my nose when you cussed.....Lol! I never thought I'd hear that from you.....too funny. I too love, which is present in many songs, how they go "All In Jam" towards the end of their songs. "Manners" is one, and "Blooming" is the best for that. Everyone's in and giving it their all. They are just good straight up Rockers!

I do play the guitar(acoustic). I used to take a class but that was a long time ago (like 7-8 years ago) because i am so busy with soccer. So i am mostly self-taught when i have the time. Also, the french was good😁!

Two for one! They are Queens of the dramatic pause! Most bands would be lucky to have one player as good as them. Dice was my first love. It's definitely early 2000s pop-punk. Part of why I love it. But they of course don't stick to one kind of rock.
