Making a dust bath for my chickens 🐓

I’m making a dust bath for my bantam chickens so hopefully they stop taking a bath in their food bowl. So pellet stove ash, construction sand, a little lime, grit and spices mixed together in a small tub that won’t tip over. While I was making the bath the little lovelies must have found a soft shell egg or broke one open because out they came with shell hanging out of their mouths🙄 Never a dull moment 🐓🌸🩷 #thespencerhomestead #adirondacks #backyardbirds #chickencoop #bantam #dustbath

I have been suspicious because I see them on the camera and then all the sudden they are gone- but I’ve never caught the little naughtiest! They don’t touch the eggs in the laying baskets just the eggs on the floor.
