- I lost my pet Chicken...
Then I discovered it was in the pan. (Don't worry)
Subscribe for animal adventures at least every two weeks.
So I had a sweet chicken that was really my friend.
Then I lost it and I was really sad.
Txt in this video:
I had a small pet-chicken that I was fond of
One day she just disappeared
Some days later I found her in the pan
Here is what happened
Here she is, I like her a lot
I spoil her with treats
Her name is 'Kippiekip'
This translates into 'Chickychick'
Several times a day she comes inside for some attention
For moths this was our daily routine:
Every morning she would wake up in her plant...
Play in the garden...
After some time she would get a treat and we would talk a little...
She would come in to get some attention... five times...
I would let her in for the night...
We would work...
Finally I would tell her goodnight and she would go to sleep in her plant.
Every single night!
And then, a couple of weeks ago...
After a normal day...
Alright, no worries...
Sometimes she's just a little late...
But when it was dark...
This was weird
I searched a long time.
but she just wasn't there
Of course the next morning I looked for her again
Ok, now I really started to worry
Nowhere!
I rang all the neighbour's doorbells...
And checked their gardens...
No one had seen her
A hawk? A cat?
After three days still nothing
She was really gone, my 'Kippiekip'
And then... the next evening, when I wanted to cook a meal...
What the...?!
The sweetheart, she was trying to become a mother
As you might know, we don't have a rooster
So the next day, I got her some fertilized eggs...
And a more comfortable nest
21 days later I heared something
The chick was ready to hatch so Kippiekip started to help
The next morning the first one...
and that night
They grew rapidly
and after a week I put them outside
Mum war happy to be outside again...
But for the chicks it was much to cold
So when mum called them
So now they all live inside
And where do they sleep, you wonder?

When you said you found her in a pot, my heart sank and felt sad 😢. I thought somebody chopped her up and ate her, I was tearing up. I'm so glad she was just in there not dead.

Hey there! I have watched this video so many times, but forgot to say something! In 2020, I got a six-batch of blackstar hens, and one of them I had named after this hen, Kippie-Kip. She was my favorite… sadly, in early 2021, she had been taken by a raccoon. Thank you for making all these helpful and great videos!

A beautiful story ! It reminds me of a hen I`ve been close to before. She was of a rusty brown color and I had called her "Cocotte". She had come to me out of the blue and we became very close friends. She was one among many other ones living on a farm. I was just helping out and one day I had to leave. I will always remember her as " my Cocotte ! "

My parents raised chickens when I was a child, not much, just 3-4 and not for pets by the way. I watched them growing up, I fed them, I hugged and I treated them like my friends, I loved them so much. Then noone would ever think to make them for meal, they are my friends now. I was glad to see them around. Time passed, they got old and left me. But I'm still happy that they had their lives. I'd love to watch your videos as well, it reminds me to my childhood. Thank you!

You touched a place, i put up walls around to protect. Didn't work with this video. At 62 i teared up good. With both Joy and anger. No not angry towards this at all. Anger that two legged predators made many of my fowls meet a bad ending or just vanished. And those that allowed them to get away with such acts. My hat is off to you in what you did for the wanna be a momma bird. That is stellar! This made me cry because as you see on my profile picture there are two chickens these were my favorite chickens they new lots of tricks they were the best thing that ever happened to me we had bond they were the best but one day a came home from school and ran to the chicken coop and that were both died they got staked one got bit by a snake and the other got killed by a possem I was so sad to any one who's pet died or got lost you're never alone. Give a like to all those people in the world as good as him!

Awww♥♥ My silkie chicken became broody, and yesterday a few hatched which was 31st December 2017 and 2 hatched today on New Years 2018!! Today in the morning we found one new born chick out of the nest on the ground, my dad thought it was dead because the chicks body was limp and was cold already, my dad grabbed its neck and tossed it aside... it cheeped!! It was alive!! But barley. We quickly grabbed it out and noticed it was covered in ants trying to feast on it, my dad quickly covered the chick with his hands to warm it up since we don't have an incubator, amazingly after an hour it was warming up and started cheeping for its mother, after a short while it was healthy enough to go to its mother, its mother immediately cuddled up with it. I really hope it will live a normal life, so we named it Hope.

Seriously,what surprised me is not your bird story, but your filming and Editting skills. You went through a lot of trouble to present the story this way. Despise the seemingly coarse clips, most important moments that matters to story telling are actually very well shot, retouched with multi perspectives sometimes.
I think 50% of your success is due to editting.

Dude you should get a rooster, the wilder ones can defend your hens and chicks. I had a rooster who once killed a cat that was trying to eat my hens, he also used to lead them into bushes whenever a kite or a hawk was around.

Figured she'd gone broody somewhere. Just lucky she did it inside. My husband and I love seeing these kinds of videos, they make us feel less insane. My husband went on a rooster rescue mission a while back and we have 13 roosters. 3 are allowed to live with the hens and forage outside during the day. The rest are kept in a bachelor pad while we wait for a batch of girls to get big enough to go outside. They will all be big backed girls. Anyway, one handsome EE rooster is too much of a rapist to be out with the hens and gets picked on in the bachelor pad, so he lives with us inside. Puts himself to bed on a pedestal in our bedroom at night, he hates being alone. And we don't ever need an alarm. I'm almost positive he dreams at night. He talks to himself in his sleep. Chickens are great pets, just different...they are birds after all. Thanks for sharing so many great bird stories.

Probably won't read this but when I was 13 or 14 I found a 4 yr old rooster at a sell and my dad got em for me dad was rough getting him out of the pin so he already hated dad I held him in my lap on the way home he just stared at me and I put some cracked corn on the ground he was already 2 ft tall and weighed a good 3 to 4 pounds some small game rooster tried their luck and lost for a whole year he was uneasy about me and he finally warmed up to me after he fought off and killed a hawk he lost his left eye I doctored him for a month and he was back to Normal except I was basically his seeing eye human I'd play guitar out side all the hens and him would get next to me and watch I think that was what they were doing and had sometimes jump on my leg and sit then after I had him 3 years my neighbor found him with his other eye gone and another hawk dead and put him down I still regret going to school that day people say that chickens are stupid because they have a small brain but as i say if you gauge a human on being able to fly they are just as stupid I loved Elvis he was my one friend I just wish I could have said I loved him before he died he will always be my best friend

Your rooster probably had a great life, which, not all animals have.
Where I live, there are weasels, squirrels, mice and a rooster (I think) that lives at my neighbor’s, accross. I don’t know if he’s still there but, it’s a miracle he didn’t get stolen, while wandering in front of the house. That’s also why, we usually have tall walls and sharp-peaked fences, in our country.

Absolutely love your story. I once had a pet chicken. She even road in the vehicle with me. Never made a mess. Sometimes road on my shoulder. She was great. I really loved seeing your video.

Chickens are good pets but they sometimes are hard to control
Cinder Woods I got 6 chickens in my garden , keep them for eggs, get yourself 4-8 chickens for eggs instead, and ofcourse they can still be pets.
