I bought a brand new ''95 F-350 for my lawn care, landscape and snow removal business in 1995. It was 4X4 (dually) w/ lockouts; the 460 EFI with twin tanks (needed every drop!) and I put an Eagle-12' electric over hydraulic dump bed on it and a Boss 9'2" V-Plow. I had a John Deere 770 4X4 tractor with bucket, rear 3 pt. blade and bush hog plus a Bobcat 7753 that I would haul to various jobs and my truck never skipped a beat! It did such an amazing job at snow removal too! 'military-spec' to the corners removal, no matter how much snow fell! It could push up 10-12' piles! One time, a farmer called to HOPE I could open up his 1/4 mile long drive that was all drifted in, along with all the county snow plow windrow. At 1st, he hired a plumbing company and they sent out a plow truck (7-1/2' Western straight plow, LOL) then a rubber tire tractor/hoe - then another! And after 8 hours, they only were able to dig in about 20' from the edge of the road and they charged him $800 for that - then QUIT! I told the farmer no promises, but I'd swing by shortly and take a look. I pulled in that 20' then backed up to the ditch on the opposite side of the road and pondered what I got myself into, then I put the Boss into full V and lowered to within about 4" of the ground. I put the truck into 4-high in Drive, put on my seatbelt and then went FULL SEND! By the time I hit the wall the backhoes made for me, I was doing maybe 25 and I had it floored! The V-plow had centered all the force equally on my truck and the snow EXPLODED to both sides and in 2 seconds, I was into virgin, foot deep snow the rest of the way down the drive! I came over the hill to the house where he was outside and he was exstatic! I then angled the plow to the east and ran down the west edge of the drive and pushed that all off to the downwind side and easily pushed the rest of the other company's mess over to the east as well. It took me all of 15 minutes to have his driveway....like I said about 'military spec,' all the way to the edges and he handed me 5-$100 bills and I handed him 4 of them back! I suggested he call me 1st next time, LOL - to which I had a customer until sadly he passed a few years later. Sorry for the long read. That truck was amazing and I only sold when we retired and moved to FL!
That's a great story. I got to do something similar except no one had been there before me. I could picture exactly what you had to do. Thanks for watching and sharing.
Here in Norway, I can only drive up to 7716 lbs GVWR on a non-CDL license, so watching trucks like this, really makes me wish I was living in America! Great video btw :)
Wow my two year old son, Tommy and I enjoyed your video! He loves dumptrucks as much as you do! And backhoe loaders, dozers, loaders, tractors and everything else😅 Thanks for this video!
I thought I was the only person that wanted a dump truck for personal use. This video is awesome, nice job restoring the trucks. I am a life long Ford truck man
I bought an 88 F350 4x4 dump and I LOVE it. Best $2500 I ever spent. Have it for 2 years and slowly fixing it up. That truck is a BEAST. Your 95 is an AWESOME truck, love the 75 also.
Appreciate it Jamie. Yeah, it was a great truck. I'm not opposed to finding another someday. Thanks for the comment and good luck with your '88. They are great to have around!
YES a Dump is great to have. Just rented the same size as yours from United. Hauled 6 Loads of 5/8- to my home. I own a backhoe 19000 pounder. So I always need gravel for my pad for my TOYS to sit on. Like you I said I want my own Backhoe. My baby is a 1978 Dynahoe Like a Dump truck, you can always use a backhoe around the homestead. I have done so much with mine. Even use it as a man lift for trimming trees. It's mainly for my garden turning the soil. So glad you got a bigger one to pull that wht. Of Heavy Equipment.
Buddy I'm with ya. I had a work truck from Imagineers LLC CT - F800, a 1998 and it was the bomb. Took it home a lot of weekends and despite the overkill on honesstead work it never was that. Just a great utility to have and get at it. My personal truck was an F150 with that 300 I-6 and a five speed and it took me all over the New England ways. Could have had manys a Camero or Mustang but you know what ? And you know the answer. Utility. Helping friends. Gettin stuff done man. All's its about. And a truvck wants to fire up and go. They're just like having a dog really. Always ready to the task. Thanks for the videos and more power to you.
Thanks Tbone! I love that name; "Tbone"! These trucks are great. Hard to go wrong with the OBS Fords and the 7.3 is a proven winner. Thanks for stopping by the channel! Take Care.
Thanks for the video Neil. I remember Rush Limbaugh one time said that if he had a dump truck that he could go out and find work any day of the week and make money. 👍
@@digdrivediy they’d even make a rusty truck look good. I want to put a set on my 83’ gm dually... someday lol I just bought a dump truck and that’s how I stumbled upon your video. 98’ International tandem
Sir I really enjoyed looking at your collection. My dad restores old 2 stroke Detroit diesels and has a 67 GMC 9000. Really cool stuff sir and these are a labor of love but so good to be able to do the work you need to do because you have the right stuff. Keep up the good work
Morning neil i love your American trucks and the cars bloody allsome that i must say i love your trucks f350s and up wards love the shape of them i love the hemi engines wow so sweet you have a good day
I have two as well, 1997 F-Superduty with a 5-7 yard bed (7.3 liter) and an International 4900 (7.6 liter) for personal and business use. So yes! you've found someone who loves dump trucks just as much as you.
Miles, you made my day. Just when I start to feel like like I'm strange for really liking this stuff someone comes along and backs me up. I'm glad we can share the same interest. I appreciate you checking out my channel and watching some videos. And glad to have you as a sub! Appreciate it.
Thanks Tony! Unfortunately I wasn't able to recover any of it though. I had to completely remake it again but I guess I needed the extra editing practice!. Appreciate you watching. See ya soon!
Big trucks are awesome. Look at some of the dump trucks the military uses. Iv been fortunate enough to drive some of the older models during my time in service . With big Cummins and CAT motors. Noting like split shifting gears to make big things move.
I have a thought for the small tractor loading. Take the backhoe and dig out an area to drive the dump into. It looks like about 4' would do it, maybe even to the bottom of the door to be able to open it. Then you can drive up to the sides of the truck and reach over the bed. If your water table is too high and it would fill up, do the opposite, build 2 hills wide apart enough to drive the dump through.
Bro loved your video me and my father also love dump trucks like you he is a contractor and he owns a f350 dump truck and a f650 dump our favorite one is a 2002 f250 dump truck he love that truck because its really fun to use because it has a small dump it’s not even a dually but it gets the job done👍
That's awesome. I've seen a few of those single rear wheel F250 dumps and they could be handy for a lot of things around the farm. I do really still enjoy having this truck though too. Thanks so much for watching!
Great video man! You are definitely right dump trucks are super handy. That 750 is a slick little truck man. Looking forward to seeing the changes on it 👍🏻
I also love dump trucks and would like to own one just as a daily driver. I also love box trucks and my favorite medium duty truck is the Freightliner M2 business class truck.
I wish I could give you some ideas but I've never really been down a path like that GW. Gonna need some pretty sturdy corner posts at the back corners I would think for starters. Sounds like an interesting project. Wish you luck sir and wish I was better help.
I love the sound of those "older" Cummins. The mid 90's trucks are all kinda special to me as I think the trucks that are new when you are in high school are the ones that kinda "stick with you" all through your life. Thanks for sharing and for checking out the video. take care.
I'll try to remember to do something on that one of these days. I thought about talking about all the tractors in a little more in depth. I have tons of pictures of using it but I didn't take much video back then.
Hello, enjoyed the video. I have a 2000 F350 dump and the person before me removed the side levers that drop the panels. Do you know where I can find replacements?
Hi Dean. I'm not too sure. Do you know the bed manufacturer? The bed on my 1995 was made by Industrial Truck Beds in Fort Wayne, IN. If your is the same then maybe you can contact them and see about some replacements. Thanks for watching!
I am really grateful to hear that Chat! Thanks for checking in, subbing and watching some videos. I'm still working to make better stuff so appreciate the feedback. Kleeman's got a great group of subs and he's got a great channel so I'm humbled to have some of his visitors. See ya around! Take care.
What motor was in that 1995 f350? All i heard was it had a blown head gasket. Was it the 7.5? The 7.3 turbo or the non turbo? I'm looking really hard at a 1995 f350 non turbo. Not gonna win a race with it but I will get the job done slow and steady.
How much weight could the different dump trucks handle? I want a dump truck for my property in the near future but I don't know if I want 3500, 5500, or some sort of medium duty from ford old or new. The 3500 and 5500 would probably be a newer one though, like 2010+
@@digdrivediy The f350 had a GVRW that high? Had to be what, like 20k lbs+ with the truck weighing at least 10k with a dump bed and then 10k lbs of payload...
@@xTheJmanChannel Well, I don't remember the actual GVW. I'm sure it wasn't as high as what the truck could "handle". I just know it would haul 5 ton and dump it just fine. Likely wasn't legal and that isn't something to be doing every day by any means!!!
@@digdrivediy I see, thanks for the clarification. I've been looking into it more and it seeming like it might be hard to insure a 4500-6500 class of truck for personal use. I'll probably have to get either an f350 or f450 since ford makes a 450 with a bed so it isnt a commercial cab and chassis.
I've watched this no less than 5 times and I'm still hoping to find that secret buried in here some where to allow me to find a 2000 F750 for 8K or less haha. Good stuff!
I didn't waste any time going to get it when I found it! I had to do about $2K of repairs on the brakes and such but still a good buy. Thanks for the 5X watches :)
Hey Neil, love the video! I was wondering how happy you were with your 75 F350 with that in-line 300? I’ve been looking at buying my first dump truck and found something similar but worry it may be underpowered. Thanks in advance, and thanks for the great content!
It was a bit underpowered but it always got the job done. Just couldn't be in a big hurry to do anything is all. I never ran it very hard with it fully loaded but it's still accomplished the task nonetheless.
Ive got an '89 f150 with a 300 straight six, i was 5 when my dad bought it new. I still drive it almost every day, has 256,000 miles on the original engine. Runs great if you can figure out OBD1 fuel injection (which cant be that difficult if I can do it) Best engine ever made. Will run forever and (if geared probably) will tow a cruise ship sideways across dry land until it runs out of gas.
I wished I had more video and pictures of that truck. It was actually an International, but my Dad and I bought it thinking we'd haul some stone on the side. We couldn't buy gravel cheap enough compared to the big guys and it was the same price to have it delivered to us as it was to go get it ourselves, so we got rid of it. It was fun learning to drive a twin stick transmission though so I'll always be glad for it. Thanks for watching Eddie!
Thanks so much Benjamin! Yeah, I can't believe I had never came across that Facebook Group before. I'm all about the single axle dump! Appreciate you checking it out and thanks for saying hi over here on YT.
Would love to have a dump truck as well. Been looking at older Freightliners or International 6 wheelers. I have a almost-new galvanized dump trailer that I recently got, though. Don't see much use in having both other than being able to carry more with the dump truck...but the dump trailer would be sitting doing nothing then.
I really lucked out on that buy. It has been a good truck and nearly doubled in price since I've owned it. I'm about to dump a bunch of money in a paint job though :/
Hey Neil. Great looking truck!! Love that body style, they never get old. What size are your mirrors? I have a 1979 F350 custom (dump bed) I am looking to replace with those exact same mirrors. Do you remember where you ordered them from? thank you
Thanks so much. Unfortunately I don't have that truck anymore but I believe those were just factory mirrors. I don't remember buying them anywhere so they had to be on there originally. Best of luck with your 79!
EDIT: I found a pic: Courser A/T 235/85R16....I gladly would do so if I could remember what they were. They were 16" rims but unfortunately I don't remember the size exactly. Sorry about that Jamie. If I find a good pic I will share. (see above!)
I have to ask, what size wheels and tires on on that truck and where did you get both? I have a really nice 1991 f350 dually and what the similar set up.
I was looking back through your videos trying to find more info on your F750. You did a great job explaining uses and also why one might need or not need a bigger series truck. My International had a dump bed for many years then I found myself not using it a lot. So instead of selling it I removed the bed and made a gooseneck puller which works great for me now. I still have the dump bed if I ever need it. One day I’d like to get a newer truck like yours or a comparable International to pull my equipment and put the bed back on my current truck. Does the 750 have the 3126 Cat engine?
I saw your truck over on your channel. Looks like a nice working setup. I almost bought a Harvester as growing up I was obsessed with Scouts. Always been a Ford guy though too, so the Ford won. Yeah, the 750 does have the 3126. Know anything about turning them up? It's only doggy when I'm pulling the backhoe but it still gets the job done way better than the 350. Thanks for looking through the "oldies". I want to make a new feature video of the 750. Hope to start getting it fixed up this year.
I have noticed that recently (summer of 2020), it has been more difficult to find good used dump trucks. Traditionally, I have always found them on Craiglist and more recently, Facebook Marketplace. Most of the time it seems that I find them when I am not looking for them for whatever reason :) It could be different depending on where you live I'm sure but for me, they're out there you just have to be patient for the right deal and everything I've ever bought has been something that I need to do a little to fix up. Good luck with your search to find one and thanks for watching.
I bought it from a place in Fort Wayne, Indiana that manufactures them. It is called "Industrial Truck Beds". You can find them on the web pretty easily. Best of luck Jake!
They were Courser M/T tires but I don't remember the specific size for sure. I didn't think I would forget that but I guess I just didn't keep that in the memory bank. I regrettably sold the F-350 a couple years ago so can't go look any more. Thanks for checking out the video!
Great videos of your dump trucks! Thanks. I could have sworn I saw in one of your videos that the black F350 was 2WD and you were getting ready to convert it to 4WD? Is that true or are all of my dump truck videos starting to run together in my head. Your F350 looks like a 4WD.
Hey Neil! Quick urgent question for you! I have a 1994 Ford F-350 dump truck as well. And Idk if it’s the exhaust or carburetor, but it came completely loose and started making very load noise as well as slowly overheating the car! I’m not sure if I can just clamp it back on or have to do a complete repair of it? Hopefully you can provide me some insight
Well, can't be too sure if what the problem is but if it is load but still runs well it is likely the exhaust. Usually you can clamp that back together or patch it up with a soup cannot something to get you going again. The overheating part has me confused. If the exhaust broke at the manifold then could be causing an overheating situation I suppose. Hard to diagnose stuff via the comments but those are my guesses. Best of luck getting it fixed and thanks for checking out the video.
@@digdrivediy we was able to use an exhaust clamp to clamp the middle part and it doesn’t fall of anymore! But the part that’s actually came off isn’t clamped bc the old clamped basically melted onto the pipe so we have to cut it off some how! Thank you again for the help 🙏🏼
I've been looking at dump trucks and stumbled upon this video. I ran across a '75 F-750 with a PTO flat dump bed for $2k. I got some details from the guy along with more pics and a video. The engine sounds fine, new brakes, and switched from the widowmaker rims to 22.5s, but he told me the Allison transmission got busted. Is $2k a good deal for a running, but not driveable dump truck?
Without seeing the truck that is a pretty tough call but my gut tells me that you should hold out for something that runs and drives. I would expect to have no less than $3000 in getting a working transmission back in that truck unless you're able to do a bunch of the work yourself. I'd say $1000 is more in line of a good deal if you have to pay to have it fixed. Around here you can get a good working dump truck of that size for $4000-$5000 and it is ready to drive down the road. Another thing to consider is that the flatbed dump of that truck won't be ready to work like a real dump truck if you need to haul material, so you'll have that to deal with too. I bought the F700 in this video with white cab and red bed for $2000 and with several hundred dollars of brake work it was a working and fully functioning truck that was ready to be used. Good luck with your search and thanks for checking out my video!
@@digdrivediy Thanks Neil! Yeah, he switched out the widowmaker rims for 22.5's, got new brake cylinders, a new booster and rubber lines, so I figured that would help offset some costs. He said he was quoted $1200-$1600 to rebuild the AT540 with a $400 rebuild kit. Others told me I'd be looking at around $1k - $2k. I saw the cores are pretty cheap, but then again it's an Allison. If you have some time to look at it, I'd be happy to send some pics and a video of the truck to get a better idea.
@@PaulBasco sorry I didn't see this reply. You're right in that many of those upgrades do go a long ways towards making that a good deal. I'm glad to look at pics and offer up an opinion if you're still thinking about it. What is the primary purpose of the truck? If you have good sources for that transmission then it might be worth a second look but I would personally want to talk to someone about fixing it first before I jumped into it. Would you be doing the transmission swap yourself or hiring it done? Best of luck!
@@digdrivediy No worries. I'll be using it as a private carrier, so I'll be hauling timber, pallets, etc. within a 15 mile radius. The guy selling it said he would help me talk to the transmission shop if I bought it. Only thing is that I recently found out that the hoist subframe is spot welded onto the truck frame. I heard that's not good, so now I'm having second thoughts.

@@digdrivediy Nice rims on that 95!! What size and brand were those?
I'm happy to hear from a fellow dump truck lover every time they chime in. Glad to know I'm not alone. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Hope you get to enjoy those 3 dumpers!
How much weight were you able to haul with your 2nd f350? I recently bought a 02 Chevy 3500 dump and I don't now what I can haul in the dump bed other than going to the rock plant and getting a load. great video by the way.
I would haul 5 ton in my F350 very regularly. That's about all it wanted. It would dump it no problem. Brakes become the major issue when getting that heavy.
Thanks so much! The F-350 just has stock Ford OBS dually rims that I polished up and put lug nut caps and different center caps on which makes them look more like the big truck Alcoas. The F-750 is just your standard 22.5 Alcoa aluminum wheel.
Why for personal use? Just sold a Towing Company, with many trucks, and employees, was thinking a small dump truck, owner op, doing small side jobs. is there no work for that? I'm in Northern CA, thanks for any input. Great video btw!
Oh there's plenty of work out there for a small dump. I do a handful of side jobs but the primary roll is personal for firewood and around the farm, etc. I have a full time job that occupies my time during the week and I'm not ready to give that up yet. Best of luck to you and thanks for watching!
I have just registered my dump trucks just like any other vehicle at the DMV. Only difference is you need to know what weight rating you need for the license plate. General rule is that the weight rating of the plate should match the GVW of the vehicle. My F750 is a GVW of 33,000 lbs. Any truck with a GVW over 26,000 lbs requires a CDL to drive. You can register and plate it though without a CDL, but you're not supposed to be driving it loaded without the CDL. Some F650's and maybe even F750's are under 26,000 and don't require the CDL. I insure my dump truck through Progressive. Hope that helps.
@@digdrivediy With that weight rated plate can you leave the state still if you use it as a private vehicle? I know if you use them for commercial use each state wants its share of tax money from you. Does that apply to private use?
Oh man them are beautiful.!.!! I'm a sucker for a black truck. I have a dump trailer and a Suburban right now I am wanting to buy a dump truck someday. I'm a GMC guy like you're a Ford guy. I just wished I was better TH-cam videos :-) especially pictures and editing and all that. I've got a ton of pictures of trucks out on that I'd love to put on here. Maybe someday.
I am a sucker for black trucks as well. Keep saying I'm not going to paint them black and then I always do. Thanks again for watching. Put those pics together and post them up on TH-cam. The more you practice at doing it the better you will get at creating the videos. Good luck and take care!
Wow, $8000 for an F750. I've always wanted one. But they are expensive because they've gotta be 2011 or newer to be street legal here (unless they are gas).
Whoa! If I had to buy 2011 or newer I wouldn't have anything! Whereabouts are you located that that is a thing? I didn't know how badly I wanted this truck until after I bought it! For what I do now, it has been a better fit than the F350. Plus, I sold the F-350 for more $$ than what I paid for the 750 so it was a pretty good upgrade. Thanks for watching!
@@digdrivediy California, any diesel over 14000lbs+ GVWR has to be 2011 or newer. So the only older Dump trucks that would be street legal would be gas ones with like the 6.8L V10, or perhaps a smaller like F350 with
Hi Tommy. Great question but no, the F-750 doesn't have air plumbed to the back for trailer brakes. The trailer you see me towing does however have electric brakes. Appreciate you watching. Take Care.
For this one you technically do need a CDL. Most of the F650s that are the same physical size though do not require a CDL because they are under 26K pounds.
I know; right? Just happened to be in the right place at the right time I guess. The truck isn't perfect cause it was used with a salter in it's previous life but so far so good, it has served me very well in almost 2 years now. The odometer reads 28,000 miles. It was a city municipal truck that only ran around in town. I don't hardly believe the mileage but have nothing that leads me to believe it is not accurate though either. Thanks for checking it out!
@@digdrivediy have you ever tried pulling up a carfax on it to see if it has a record of mileage that makes sense? Half of the dump trucks I've seen have very low miles, 20-50K miles on a 10-15 year old unit isn't uncommon to see, even on rental fleets vehicles.
@@asusreviews I've never tried to do any research into it. I suppose I'm not too concerned about it as long as it keeps working as well as it does. I was pretty fortunate to stumble onto to it I think.
@@digdrivediy Might be nice to know once you come up on some kind of maintenance interval you want to follow. You can buy these reports for $5 from some 3rd party sellers. That 8K though is a really good deal. Did you have to put much money into it when you got it? Is the rust mostly surface rust or will it need some new metal welded in?
You're a bad influence Neil. Just bought a 2001 f550 dump truck. 7.3 powerstroke. Project covid #2 lol. Rebuilt a 1970 Massey Ferguson mf 40 backhoe last year.
Thanks lad. I'm trying to find cab cross members that run under the floor and join at the inner rockers. Looking forward to working her this spring. Thanks again for the inspirational videos.
You got a point there! Actually, I think there are some dump trucks capable of loading themselves. They had a big scoop in the front that like a front end loader and then they could lift the payload up over the cab and dump into the bed behind them! That would be wild! Thanks for checking out this video too! Appreciate you watching.
Thanks for the video! I imagine 95%+ of your American viewers don't have a CDL, so they would not be able to drive a 33k gvwr truck. I'd be curious how you prioritize the raw hauling capacity vs towing equipment vs having a 4x4 capability in a dump truck. Cheers!
You do not need a CDL for vehicles under 26,000 pound GVWR. The F-350 dump truck does not require a CDL. This F-750 is a 33,000 GVWR vehicle with air brakes so therefore it does require a CDL. You can get an F-650 or F-750 that is 26,000 GVWR so in that case those would not require the CDL. There are lots of dump truck options that will not require having a CDL to operate.
No, certainly not Ferraris although one could argue much more useful than a Ferrari. I've thought about setting up a pain booth before but I really don't do enough of it to justify it at this point.
@@digdrivediy I love good productive assets like dump trucks and I think it's wise to rebuild some of the older ones if they can be salvaged for a reasonable cost. I'd like to know what you think it cost you in time and materials to restore these. As the cost and complexity of new trucks goes up, it makes sense to look at the older more simple models.
Overkill? Absolutely not bud. I've seen guys pay double that for a snowmobile, and us get next to no snow. Buy a car you pay and pay,buy a good truck,it pays you.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I've had snowmobiles in the past and while they are a good time, it is always tough to see them sitting around in the summer and even winter! I've never regretted having a dump truck and I hope it stays that way. Thanks for watching!
You win the contest of Liking Dump trucks the most! 🏆 That F750 is just so perfect for you and your community.
Man that f350 is beautiful
That truck always did look nice. Unfortunately I sold it to keep the 750 but it was sad to see it go for sure. Thanks for checking it out John.
Here in Norway, I can only drive up to 7716 lbs GVWR on a non-CDL license, so watching trucks like this, really makes me wish I was living in America! Great video btw :)
We do love big trucks here 🙂
That’s insane. Our 3/4 ton trucks weigh more than that.

Wow my two year old son, Tommy and I enjoyed your video! He loves dumptrucks as much as you do! And backhoe loaders, dozers, loaders, tractors and everything else😅 Thanks for this video!
That is awesome!
I thought I was the only person that wanted a dump truck for personal use. This video is awesome, nice job restoring the trucks. I am a life long Ford truck man
Hey Thanks Scott! I'm right there with you on dumps and the Fords. Glad to have you watching sir.
I’m looking for a 1 ton dump...
I’ve had all kids of equipment throughout the years. Now again want a 1 ton dump.
I like them too !!
One of the best investments I ever made.
Atta boy I love it I just bought me a 1991 ford f 600 6 cylinder diesel 5 spd manual. Man... you have beautiful trucks
YES a Dump is great to have. Just rented the same size as yours from United. Hauled 6 Loads of 5/8- to my home. I own a backhoe 19000 pounder. So I always need gravel for my pad for my TOYS to sit on. Like you I said I want my own Backhoe. My baby is a 1978 Dynahoe
Like a Dump truck, you can always use a backhoe around the homestead. I have done so much with mine. Even use it as a man lift for trimming trees. It's mainly for my garden turning the soil. So glad you got a bigger one to pull that wht. Of Heavy Equipment.
I don't know what I'd do without my dump truck now that I have one! They're great!
Thanks so much.
I had a 1979 Ford F-350 with straight six and 4 speed. Now I have a 1995 F 350 4x4 with 7.3 and auto. I like your 1995. Very nice.
Thanks Tbone! I love that name; "Tbone"! These trucks are great. Hard to go wrong with the OBS Fords and the 7.3 is a proven winner. Thanks for stopping by the channel! Take Care.
How much can you put in the bed with a 7.3? I have a 91 F350 but it starts to holler when I put 4 ton in it

That home paint job didn't turn out bad!! And it's a work truck!!! And you saved money$$$ So I would say hell yes!!!

I just sold my 1995 f350 dump truck, so far havent regretted it but we will see as firewold season picks up. Luckily I have 2 dump trailers
I'd be regretting selling mine if not for the F750. I have used the 750 much more for towing and such. Thanks for the comment!
Really love dump truck too bro its my dream to own a medium size dump 🚚 but i cannot afford one right now,im from Jamaica
Good video Neil, glad you were able to recover this after the computer crashed, have fun see you soon.
I love it too Ethan!
Nice setup. Love those dump trucks. ❤😊
I love your taste in trucks.
Thanks. I kinda have a style that I like I guess.. F - O - R - D 😋
Great video man! You are definitely right dump trucks are super handy. That 750 is a slick little truck man. Looking forward to seeing the changes on it 👍🏻

Ok so im having trouble figuring out how to make a flat bed dump into a true dump with barn door split gate (4 way funtion swing) ideas?
I wish I could give you some ideas but I've never really been down a path like that GW. Gonna need some pretty sturdy corner posts at the back corners I would think for starters. Sounds like an interesting project. Wish you luck sir and wish I was better help.
I have a '96 Dodge 3500 dump truck with a Cummins and a 5 speed. Cool truck, sounds like a big quad axel.
I love the sound of those "older" Cummins. The mid 90's trucks are all kinda special to me as I think the trucks that are new when you are in high school are the ones that kinda "stick with you" all through your life. Thanks for sharing and for checking out the video. take care.
I think I've commented about this before but I'd love to hear more about the 318 loader tractor.
I'll try to remember to do something on that one of these days. I thought about talking about all the tractors in a little more in depth. I have tons of pictures of using it but I didn't take much video back then.
@@digdrivediy that would be really cool! It looks like you have had a lot of 318s!
Neil enjoyed the video Captain Kleenman sent me over here so subed and watched a few vids.
I am really grateful to hear that Chat! Thanks for checking in, subbing and watching some videos. I'm still working to make better stuff so appreciate the feedback. Kleeman's got a great group of subs and he's got a great channel so I'm humbled to have some of his visitors. See ya around! Take care.
Great video, your trucks look awesome!! What size tires are in the 95 f350 after you restored it, did you have to lift it at all?
I don't remember the size. I didn't lift it though.
What motor was in that 1995 f350? All i heard was it had a blown head gasket. Was it the 7.5? The 7.3 turbo or the non turbo? I'm looking really hard at a 1995 f350 non turbo. Not gonna win a race with it but I will get the job done slow and steady.
Mine had the 7.5 gas. It always got the job done though.
How much weight could the different dump trucks handle? I want a dump truck for my property in the near future but I don't know if I want 3500, 5500, or some sort of medium duty from ford old or new. The 3500 and 5500 would probably be a newer one though, like 2010+
My F350 truck would haul 5 ton.
The F750 will haul 10 ton. Good luck!

Runs great if you can figure out OBD1 fuel injection (which cant be that difficult if I can do it)
Best engine ever made. Will run forever and (if geared probably) will tow a cruise ship sideways across dry land until it runs out of gas.
Hey man very nice f350 but I wouldve liked a video or some story on the blue mack you should picture of
I wished I had more video and pictures of that truck.
Yes I actually just looked at the pic again lol looks like a 70s loadstar. I'm gonna take guess and say it was gas powered rig also
Hey Neil awesome video! Came over to check it out from single axle group on Facebook.

Awesome video. What type of dump bed is on the f350?
Industrial Truck Bed built in Ft. Wayne, IN.
That’s a great price on that 750 I paid triple that on two of them each
I really lucked out on that buy.
Would you mind sharing your wheel tire combo/size you had on the 1996 f-350?
@@digdrivediy I don’t know anything myself about turning them up. Our county has several older freightliner buses with that engine. Very dependable.
Where do you go to find good used dump trucks. Don't see that many online and its all dealers.
@@digdrivediy Wow thank you. Couldn't find one anywhere. Looked up on the facebook marketplace and it's a gold mine !
Awesome vids. Do you know what your 750 weighs dry?
Thanks Layne! I need to check on that to remember. I'll try to look and comment back. Thanks for watching.
Where did you get your replacement dump box? I have a 1995 f350 that has a REALLY rusty box.
I bought it from a place in Fort Wayne, Indiana that manufactures them. It is called "Industrial Truck Beds". You can find them on the web pretty easily. Best of luck Jake!
What size tires/brand are you running on your F350
They were Courser M/T tires but I don't remember the specific size for sure. I didn't think I would forget that but I guess I just didn't keep that in the memory bank. I regrettably sold the F-350 a couple years ago so can't go look any more. Thanks for checking out the video!
Great videos of your dump trucks! Thanks. I could have sworn I saw in one of your videos that the black F350 was 2WD and you were getting ready to convert it to 4WD? Is that true or are all of my dump truck videos starting to run together in my head. Your F350 looks like a 4WD.
No, this one was always 4x4. Thanks for watching!
@@digdrivediy thank you for the speedy response! I appreciate it! What do you suggest I used to clamp it back on with?
Just depends on how it is broken. Best way is with muffler clamps unless it is the manifold. In which case that will be tough to patch up.
@@digdrivediy we was able to use an exhaust clamp to clamp the middle part and it doesn’t fall of anymore! But the part that’s actually came off isn’t clamped bc the old clamped basically melted onto the pipe so we have to cut it off some how! Thank you again for the help 🙏🏼
im just like you lol i love dump trucks btw great videos
I'm glad I'm not the only one Keith! Thanks for checking out the videos. I hope to spend some time on my F-750 this winter.
@@digdrivediy I’m thinking about getting a Ford f450 6.7 powerstroke diesel dump body truck

How much weight were you able to haul with your 2nd f350? I recently bought a 02 Chevy 3500 dump and I don't now what I can haul in the dump bed other than going to the rock plant and getting a load. great video by the way.
I would haul 5 ton in my F350 very regularly. That's about all it wanted. It would dump it no problem. Brakes become the major issue when getting that heavy.
Love the videos! What wheels are you using on your trucks? Thanks!
Thanks so much! The F-350 just has stock Ford OBS dually rims that I polished up and put lug nut caps and different center caps on which makes them look more like the big truck Alcoas. The F-750 is just your standard 22.5 Alcoa aluminum wheel.
They look great, you have good taste!
@@digdrivediy Thank Neil, looking into it now.
How can I get a dump truck registered? Do I need to have a CDL drivers license? Same size as the F750! Great video though 🚛❤️
I want this truck so damn bad
It was a nice one for sure. Miss it all the time.
I had a f800 and i miss it
Oh man them are beautiful.!.!! I'm a sucker for a black truck. I have a dump trailer and a Suburban right now I am wanting to buy a dump truck someday. I'm a GMC guy like you're a Ford guy.
So the only older Dump trucks that would be street legal would be gas ones with like the 6.8L V10, or perhaps a smaller like F350 with
Can you drive and haul with that F-750 without a CDL?
This one has a 33K GVW so you need a CDL to drive it loaded or to tow anything.

I am getting the dump truck bug too.
Guess I’ll start cruising market place.
DO IT! You're like, the most perfect person that needs a dump truck!!!
You need a cdl for that f750 right?
For this one you technically do need a CDL. Most of the F650s that are the same physical size though do not require a CDL because they are under 26K pounds.
Is a CDL needed?
For the F-350: NO. For the F-750: YES. Anything with a GVW over 26,000 lbs requires a CDL. This F-750 is 33,000 lbs.
Would you tell me What Kind of engine has f350?
$8000 is an absolute steal for that F750, how many miles are on it? how did you find that good of a deal!
Have you ever had a 4x4 dump truck?
The F350 in this video is 4X4. So is the white F350 in this too. So yeah, I've had a couple.
What engines in that f750
It's a 7.2L Cat diesel. Runs great with just under 30K miles! Thanks for watching.
You're a bad influence Neil. Just bought a 2001 f550 dump truck. 7.3 powerstroke. Project covid #2 lol. Rebuilt a 1970 Massey Ferguson mf 40 backhoe last year.
Oh man! That sounds like I'm a GREAT influence!!! Hope that truck serves you well!
Thanks lad. I'm trying to find cab cross members that run under the floor and join at the inner rockers. Looking forward to working her this spring. Thanks again for the inspirational videos.
If dumptrucks had a built in way to load they could do everything
You got a point there! Actually, I think there are some dump trucks capable of loading themselves. They had a big scoop in the front that like a front end loader and then they could lift the payload up over the cab and dump into the bed behind them! That would be wild! Thanks for checking out this video too! Appreciate you watching.
Thanks for the video! I imagine 95%+ of your American viewers don't have a CDL, so they would not be able to drive a 33k gvwr truck. I'd be curious how you prioritize the raw hauling capacity vs towing equipment vs having a 4x4 capability in a dump truck. Cheers!
Do ı need cdl?
You do not need a CDL for vehicles under 26,000 pound GVWR. The F-350 dump truck does not require a CDL. This F-750 is a 33,000 GVWR vehicle with air brakes so therefore it does require a CDL. You can get an F-650 or F-750 that is 26,000 GVWR so in that case those would not require the CDL. There are lots of dump truck options that will not require having a CDL to operate.
I’m on number two 95 f800
They are hard working trucks!
I think you should name the newer truck Humpty Dumpty Truck, but just call it Humpty.
Maybe you just need a homemade paint booth ? It's not like you're painting Ferraris
Towing that backhoe behind F350 would never work in any place with a decent hill… especially on the way down.
