    Great guide on the technical aspects of choosing the right dump truck! 👍 For those considering or already running an owner-operated dump truck business, remember that the vehicle is just one part of the equation. Managing your operations professionally, keeping track of jobs, and ensuring timely payments are equally crucial. Consider exploring tools or software that streamline these processes. It's not just about the drive, but how you manage the drive that counts. #OwnerOperated #DumpTruckBusiness

    I've been looking at used single axle dump trucks. Like a F750. Don't know how hard it would be to find work for it tho. I know it would be a lot easier with a tri axle.

    • @buyingbiggerbetteracademy
      @buyingbiggerbetteracademy  ปีที่แล้ว

      F750s would be a good way to keep fuel costs down and remain maneuverable if you're looking to get some lighter work. There are several listed on our site here: www.mylittlesalesman.com/ford-f-750-dump-trucks-for-sale-i2c58f19m380835
      However, as you mentioned, those will probably be lighter jobs-and fewer of them.
      If you change your mind, you can always go bigger!! 😎www.mylittlesalesman.com/dump-trucks-for-sale-i2c58f0m0?gvwrcat=heavy-duty

    Dear Sir,
    I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been following your journey in the dump truck business on TH-cam and have been truly inspired by your success and insights.
    I obtained my CDL-A license in 2018, but I haven’t utilized it as I was a teacher until recently. I made a quiet exit from teaching due to the constant scrutiny from superiors and the increasing difficulty of the job, despite my love for the students.
    I am now seeking a career change into the dump truck industry and would greatly appreciate your advice on getting started. Specifically, I am interested in whether I should initially work for a union or non-union company. I’ve seen many trucks on the road and assume there are pros and cons to both.
    Additionally, I’m curious if it would be wise to gain a year or two of experience before purchasing my own truck and starting my own business. I value being home with my family daily or every other day and want to ensure this career choice supports that goal.
    Your guidance would mean a lot to me as I look for a positive change and a successful future in this industry.
    Thank you for your time and advice.
    Best regards,
    John

      Howdy John! Thanks for the thoughtful message. Regarding entering the dump truck industry, I would highly recommend reaching out to those with both union and non-union jobs to properly weigh the pros and cons of either side to find the choice that works best for you. You may be able to get said feedback in the comments sections of related videos or perhaps within Reddit groups discussing those topics.
      As for gaining dump truck driving experience before going into business for yourself-this is usually the wisest choice. While you'll mainly be working as an operator rather than a business owner, since that will likely be the bulk of your responsibilities, it's nice to gain that kind of experience without worrying about running your own business-which can be immensely stressful all by itself.
      We wish you on your journey in the industry-however that ends up looking like for you!

    What are the best soil dump truck in the 2000-2010 decade ??

    • @buyingbiggerbetteracademy
      @buyingbiggerbetteracademy  ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on a few other factors. What size loads are you looking to haul? What is your budget? Where are you operating?
      Here are a few ideas to get you started:
      - International Workstar 7300
      - Ford F-750 with a dump body
      - Freightliner M2 106 with dump body
      - Peterbilt 335

    What do you think about purchasing a medium heavy dump, like a Mack MD

    • @buyingbiggerbetteracademy
      @buyingbiggerbetteracademy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In general, many dump truck owners and operators love their medium-grade dump trucks because they supply enough power and body capacity while remaining more efficient and agile than heavier-grade trucks. A common issue with newer buyers is that think they should always buy more than they'll ever need. In actuality, they find themselves with too much truck a lot of the time. This can be a real issue regarding fuel efficiency, weight restrictions, and maneuverability.

      @@drewmurphy2796 He's also identifying himself as a "Salesman", so that's strike #1.

    • @buyingbiggerbetteracademy

      Most of the price figures we pull may be subject to average ranges found in our marketplace listings. These, of course, can vary wildly by market conditions, location, truck condition, size, and a variety of other factors. But thanks for bringing it to the attention of viewers that nailing down pricing can be a moving target-even for online marketplaces! 😅

      @@r0ckworthy 😆 We're definitely not salesmen. The origin of the name "My Little Salesman" as a company name goes back to 1958 - when we went on the market in the Pacific Northwest as print publication for listing heavy equipment. Dealerships and private sellers would call the publication "my little salesman" in reference the pocket-sized catalog's ability to help them market and sell heavy equipment.
